I got a telegram message from hcagent.com offering a job as "reviews online hotel assistant" which sounds quite quirky.
I'd like to know if this is genuine, otherwise this comes as warning that somebody is using your brand to make scam/phishing.

fake and misleading site, quotes cheap price that never seems to come up.

Can you please advise your policy on getting my money back from a booking via your site?

Hotels Combined Pty Ltd (ABN 61 122 130 554), is a company incorporated in New South Wales, Australia that runs the Revato booking platform.

I booked a 3 x night stay at 5* Ananatara Tozeur Resort in Tunisia for this June. Their EUR nightly rate came up on all price comparison sites as three times cheaper than the next cheapest price (from Agoda / Hotels.com). I thought it was probably too good to be true and it was. I booked a fully refundable rate with full payment on arrival. All the way through the booking process, the EUR rate showed correctly. My email confirmation also has the EUR rate as I had agreed, but the local currency figure was way too high.

I immediately called the hotel directly to confirm the final cost of payment on arrival, and what currency they expected me to pay in. Turns out they wanted local currency and this was 390% more expensive than the EUR cost Revato had advertised to me.

Quite simply a scam to ensure that Revato ends up top of price comparison search listings when you Google them. This behaviour is illegal in Australia. Australian Consumer Law prohibits businesses from making false or misleading representations about the price of goods or services. I have registered a complaint with the New South Wales Fair Trading. I suggest you all do the same!

I went ahead and made a booking via Hotelscombined after making a search for a hotel. I chose Expedia as it was the cheapest it was showing.

After completing my booking the next morning I saw the same room with the same details and rules at a much lower price on a competitors website that they did not offer during the search.

Therefore I went ahead and followed up on their claim of providing '100% Best Deal Guarantee' and sent an email.

I got a response back stating that they could not trace my booking with Expedia and it seemed that I booked with them directly which was not the case.

It is evident that they make these false advertising gimmicks about offering best price but when it comes to a customer following through they supposedly cannot find your booking on thier system to show that I went through Hotels Combined.

I for sure went through Hotels Combined to make my booking and was redirected to Expedia to make my booking. Its very intimidating for them to say I booked directly even when I went through Hotelscombined after making my search.

To summerize, they mislead customers to book with them and then deny the fact that they went through their portal to make a booking in order not to uphold the so called best price guarantee they claim.

I am very disappointed with Hotels Combined and would suggest people give their business elsewhere.

I was looking for information on a particular hotel/motel and couldn't find a phone number or email address, when Hotels Combined made contact with me and supplied all the information that l needed, which was awesome. Haven't had the need to use this service again but l wouldn't hesitate, and l recommend this service to everyone.

There is some misunderstanding at the booking price of our hotel and HotelsCombined.We were charged more upon our check in without informed.HotelsCombined reply our complaints promptly and looked into the matter.Finally the problem was solved and appreciated they helped.

Made a booking via hotelscombined on their own booking platform, Revato.
I now need to cancel and it is IMPOSSIBLE.
The links on my email confirmation fail to work on ANY device and Revato has no contact details.
My confirmation email says that I can deal directly with the Hotel. THIS IS A LIE! The hotel insist that any amendments are made via Revato.
Hotelscombined are equally as bad. Their only form of contact is by online form. There is no email address or phone number.
If this review is not seen by hotelscombined then my only option will be to get my credit card company involved.
DO NOT BOOK VIA REVATO, you have been warned.
(There is a trustpilot page for Revato, not surprisingly all the reviews are 1 star).

Update: A very good response from hotelscombined below, and, the Revato website does appear to be working now, so thank you (I have updated the star rating accordingly).
However, I spoke with two different members of staff at the hotel that I booked and they were ADAMANT that the booking could not be cancelled by them, only by Revato.

HotelsCombined is my go to places for booking accomodation. I rarely find cheaper options on other hotel booking aggregators, moreover I've noted that if one searches for a hotel through Expedia, Hotels.com or other similar websites directly, he or she sometimes will be seeing higher prices for the same hotels compared to if one has proceeded to these very same websites throught HotelsCombined.
However, in my opinion the best thing about the company is how well they treat travelling students. I happen to be a travel geek and am on the road very often during the free time I get from my university. HotelsCombined has a program for students where they can get 10% cashback for bookings that were made through them. Very generous!

I use this service frequently and over time it saved me quite some money on hotel prices. Their customer support is also responsive and helpful.

I wouldn't book a hotel without reading reviews and I feel bad that some hotels on your website lacks reviews.

Hi Hotelscombined! I notice that your hotel reviews are few compared to other booking sites. I personally (and I believe most people do) uses online reviews to best compare hotels and determine which one to book. I do hope that you consider getting more reviews on your hotel as I can see how organized they were on your site.
