I’m having a terrible time with DPD Local right now. I shipped a parlour classical guitar to Italy on 22nd December, they couldn’t find the address in a town and returned it to me in UK. They agreed i... See more

I found that my parcel was delivered …
I found that my parcel was delivered sound and safe (12 fine wine glasses) from UK to DK in just 2 days. Very impressed. Only problem: I had to drive 17 miles to find a depot that actually existed to hand over my parcel to be sent. The delivery sites on their web site did not exist any more (had been taken over by Amazon) and the web site did not give any local businesses in Bournemouth where I could hand it over.
Web site needs to be updated with where customers can hand in parcels.
Otherwise it worked fine.
Tried to deliver to a car park!!! REALLY??
Expected a delivery today between 12.30pm and 1.30pm to a business address. Waited in and no delivery. Then I receive a notification that the package was unable to be delivered due to no one being in to accept/sign for it. Checked online with reference and can see that the driver tried to deliver it to a carpark about 100 meters down the road and took a photo of the carpark to prove he tried to deliver it.
No customer service agents to take calls only an automated service to rearrange delivery for the following week!! WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SERVICE!!!
The delivery was not attempted at the correct address where several people were in to accept it. I can only stress that anyone wanting a delivery courier who is reliable with drivers that actually turn up to the correct delivery address avoid DPD at all costs!!
I have a business acct with DPD local …
I have a business acct with DPD local and today they emailed me saying at the end of sept they do not want my business stating it was not good for their auto sorting system, my parcels a in there 1kg and 5 kg express bags that they supply so what do they want, i think they want all the cream so i now have to find someone else for my overnight deliveries, would i recommend them..no chance now
Do not trust DPD to have your parcel delivered!
If you don't want to read the details: Avoid them at all cost. Worst experience ever, by far.
I was sent a text message stating that my delivery will be with me at 12:24-13:24.
At 13:20 I get a message that my driver is delayed and will deliver at 18:00. Not great, but I can live with that!
At 13:23 I get a message that no one was there and that the driver left a not. Of course, I was there waiting for him. I go outside, no note for me of course. This, combined with the previous message is more than enough to make me understand that the driver somehow messed up badly. I go online to track my parcel and I can see that the driver has uploaded a random picture of a random building that has nothing to do with my address or even my area.
At 14:49 I get another message that no one was there. So I decided to re-arrange, tomorrow will be a better day I thought - naively.
I get a text message that my delivery will be with me 12:06-13:06. I give them calls to make sure this time everything will be fine, and they assure me that the driver will call me, and that they have given him specific instructions of where exactly to go this time. I monitor the driver online from around 12:45. I can see him moving, doing the previous deliveries. He reaches delivery 47 (I was 48), and a few minutes later I receive a message that no one was home!! He didn't call me like he was instructed to do, and he obviously didn't pay any attention to the directions given to him.
I immediately call them and they say "oh he didn't deliver again? leave it with us and dont worry, you will definitely have your parcel today". The parcel is already more than 24 hours late, even though I have called them 5-6 times and spoken to them in fb, but since I can't do much anyway, I wait. This time the driver did actually call, and the package was delivered.
I didn't mind the fact that the parcel was late, but the confusion and the fact that I needed to call them too many times to finally get it.
If could give them a zero i would …
If could give them a zero i would waited in only for them to go past thought he was going to turn round and come back but got a text instead "sorry missed you no one in" what a liar. Not happy.
Then tried to ring them that was a run around to.
Wouldnt recommend them.
Terrible
Terrible, avoid if possible.
This delivery service is used by the company I ordered products from. I was told next day delivery but received a message at 6pm saying the driver could not find my address! I then selected to have it delivered to a local pick-up point and was informed it would be there the next day. Again nothing. After chasing them for 3 days and being assured each time it would be there the next day I was told the package is damaged and needs to be sent back to the sender. The people answering the phone are polite and seem to be trying to help but that's little consolation if a delivery company cannot deliver on time or give you accurate information on where your package is.
very bad service
very bad service. I paid a lot for a two day delivery. After two days, the parcel did not move at all.... and they have no action to solve the problem and no compensation at all.
i wish i came here first then i could …
i wish i came here first then i could have saved time and money.
i dropped a parcel off on the monday for next day delivery only to find that 3 days latter it is still there my customer is miffed with good reason and im still none the wiser when it will finaly be delevered.
my advise is use any couier because no one else could be this bad
Yet again dpd get it wrong
Yet again dpd tell me they are going to delivery my parcel on a day I did not select because I was not going to be in. They tell me I can reschedule on their super app. so I dutifully go through the process of requesting my delivery on the original day I requested it. They send me helpful text telling me I've rescheduled my delivery. They then send me another text telling me they are going to deliver my parcel on the day I did not select because I was not going to be in. They tell me I can reschedule if I'm not going to be in, so I go through their process AGAIN and they text me to say I have rescheduled. They then send me another text to tell me they are about to deliver my parcel, on the day I am not in, and because I am not in I can't receive my parcel. Last time they did this circular process I didn't get my parcel, this time they gave it to my neighbour, on other occasions they leave it out in the rain by the front door. If I'm lucky I happen to be in when they decide to deliver. Unfortunately for me these are medical deliveries for my children's medical supplies, so I have no control over the company that the hospital use to deliver, and I have to go through this merry-go-round every month. There is NO complaints process to be found for dpd local or a contact number so I can at least find out why they do the same annoying thing each month, and the hospital isn't interested in the service that is offered by their outsource partners because they are chasing the cheapest price. I do not appreciate my difficult life being made that little bit more difficult by rubbish systems and services, with no onus to take on board complaints.
Do not think of using DPD local!
I was recommended. It was a mistake. They can deliver to a "safe place" but bizarrely can't collect from one. This is not made clear - I thought I had left clear instructions. They were ignored.
Parcelforce were cheaper and I could drop the item off. DPD only told me they had to collect after I had wasted time putting all the details in.
I contacted customer services who told me to use the live chat option. This is not working but they don.t reply to emails either.
I cancelled the rescheduled collection by text after mailing them that I had sent the item by Parcelforce. They replied by mail they were pleased the problem was solved. I replied that I was not at all happy and they told me to use live chat ... which still doesn.t work. So no progress towards a refund.
I would give negative 5 stars. Don.t go near this company.
Parcels were left unattended
Parcels were left unattended, in the hallway of the high-rise building I live in.
Apparently I signed for it as well, but I never actually saw the courier at all.
The delivered items value was around £500, but they don't really mind leaving it just where they please, so any one can take the opportunity and nick it.
Rubbish service
I received an email telling me that my package would arrive at lunchtime. I waited all afternoon and nothing happened. There was no explanation. The company hides its telephone number so you won't be able to call them. The person on the online helpline service simply apologises but is unable to explain what went wrong.
Yet again appalling customer service
i received an email to say that my delivery by DPD would be today and I would receive a one hour time slot in the morning. It is now 11.20am and no time slot received. When I called I chose the option to be put through to the local depot at Bamber Bridge and I was immediately cut off. I tried again 5 times and was cut off on transfer each time. They have obviously put all calls to the depot out of action. This company is clearly not responding to the long list of complaints about customer service. I will undoubtedly receive the same meaningless response to this message which every comment gets - it obviously is an automatic reply meaning no one from the company actually reads these comments! How do they get away with this diabolical customer service. Have they been on BBC Watchdog yet. if not they need to be ??
Avoid using this outfit like the plague - they are not like their big brother outfit!
I have used DPD Local on a few occasions, however recent experiences i would not wish on my worse enemy. Their online tracking is near more than useless, as when something isn't moving it doesn't take. The online help is the most patronising out, repeating pathetic apologetic lines, offers no real compensation or explanation. For a small business, it is despicable as this excuse of an outfit are letting down my reputation. In both instances excessive chasing has been required. Avoid like the plague!
Poor poor service
On the day of my delivery I receive a message from dpd that the delivery has been changed due to my request....I haven't requested to be changed the date. There is not a chance to speak with someone so I went on twitter to complain, I was then told the driver had the wrong address but I didn't give them my address and they delivered the next day.
Today I had a delivery and now the driver will not deliver to my address as I abuse him although I have not seen him. Not sure how this is possible I will avoid ordering anything delivered by DpD again.
I would have given them no stars but there is no option.
Always had a fantastic service from …
Always had a fantastic service from DPD, we have daily deliveries and never had a hitch in 6+ years of UK delivery.

Ordered from Amazon a quite expensive monitor for my work, was due to be delivered today, but I receive a message from dpd that the delivery has been changed due to my request....I haven't requested to be changed the date...not a chance to speak with someone...I will avoid to order and to be delivered through DpD
Extremely unreliable and general poor service
Have had poor service from the company a few times. Recently the company failed to deliver the parcel on two separate days. Extremely unreliable and very poor customer service/communication.
If companies use DPD Local it's becoming a serious factor in whether or not we choose to work with them. As the marketing team for a small company we are frequently having products delivered to us from design companies.
Can't be bothered to deliver today as promised - will pass to my colleague tomorrow
Awful and this has happened several times - the dreaded text "your parcel could not be delivered today as no one was in. Arrange redelivery here or call 0844 824 0501" even though I work from home and my office is by the front door where I see all comings and goings throughout the day - complete lies from a courier that can't be ars*d - complained to the Birmingham office but don't expect anything to happen or change - ended up picking my parcel up from their Blackburn office after a 20 mile round trip - why do respectable retailers use these amateurs? This guy really lets the company down as he passes the parcel to a colleague for delivery the next day because he cannot accommodate on his own round and makes up lies that no one was in to take the pressure off his deliveries. If I was his workmate I'd be having words.
Incompetent delivery drivers
I have now had three bad experiences with DPD and am thoroughly fed up with them. They have claimed not to find my house which is right on a main road with the house name on a big sign, not dropped an item off at a safe place and today simply driven away from my house claiming no one was in when the front door was open and two cars were parked there.. they even sent me a picture of the open front door. I was hanging the laundry out and my father was watching the tennis, so had the guy made some noise we would have heard him.
