I had a far different experience than…
I had a far different experience than below. I contacted OFCOM with respect to a problem with a number porting arrangement between old and new provider. They responded very promptly and offered to weigh in and guide. I was truly impressed with the organisation from my experience.
Thankyou to Rebecca M.
NOTE: below are some reviews which appear to relate to energy and other matters. Clearly OFCOM is not relevant to this thread therefore I would discount those.
Ofcom the most useless organisation on…
Ofcom the most useless organisation on the planet!
The customers of BT and Virgin Media are frustrated with these incompetent companies and Ofcom are doing nothing to improve things. I waited for up to one hour to get through to both BT and Virgin Media without success. Ofcom website full of useless waffle but not simple complaint procedure. Ofcom is created Not to help the consumer but to support inefficient essential phone and internet service.
Please please please investigate talktalk
Would like to know why are allowing talktalk to operate we and so many others having so much trouble with them our contract was up with them we changed to plusnet but talktalk are refusing to let us leave they keep sending emails saying we are glad you are staying with us we are not .
YOU NEED TO A SERIOUS INVESTIGATION INTO TALK TALK and how its run please read all the reveiws about them on trust pilot and broadband .Co.uk.
Energy scammers
This is not helpful to people only to protect the suppliers and their shareholders everyone should strike against them dontpay.uk
Are of ofcom employed by utility…
Are ofcom employed by utility providers? The way they behave leads me to conclude they are.
Pointless organisation and they appear to support only the hand that feeds them. Perhaps a review of their ethics policy is needed and government need to hold them accountable to ensure they act impartially at all times.
Kissing the rear of telecom companies.
Kissing the rear of telecom companies has become standard practice for Ofcom in the last thirty years.
The occasional fine/slap on the hand for miss selling cheating and robbing customers, on the whole is ignored by this total waste of money and space agency appointed to safeguard the public.
Now in another measure to kiss the rear of the telecom companies free access television is attacked to free up more air wave space for people who cant live without Apple and Google apps in there life.
People say the world is becoming smaller, just like the minds of the monkeys walking it's surface.
Well done Ofcom, i hope the payoffs and the kickbacks for the people at the top were worth it.
Try re-branding yourselves Ofcheat, as in the eye's of the public your a total sham.
I BELIVE OFCOM IS LETTING US ALL DOWN…
I BELIVE OFCOM IS LETTING US ALL DOWN WHEN IT COMES TO LETTING BROADBAND INTERNET AND TELEPHONE CUSTOMERS DOWN BY LETTING THEM CHARGING A LOW PRICE FOR NEW CUSTOMERS AND DOUBLE THE PRICE FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS IF OFCOM DOSE NOT HAVE THE WHERE WITH ALL TO PUT A STOP TO THIS PRACTICE THEN IT NEEDS GOVERNMENT TO STEP UP TO THE MARK STOP SILLY SQUABBLING AND DO THE JOB THEY WHERE ELECTED TO DO, NO MOBILE PHONES IN THE HOUSE STOP THE CHILDISH BICKERING AND AS STATED GET TOGETHER FOR THE GOOD OF ALL NO MATTER WHAT PARTY SCHOOL CHILDREN COULD DO A BETTER JOB THERE ARE TOO MANY NOT CONCENTRATED ON WHAT'S GOING ON THINKING ABOUT THE BARS (free I believe) REMOVE THEM AWAY FROM THE PLACE OF WORK AND IF THEY WANTED THEY COULD PUT THE GREAT BACK IN Britain! This is just my opinion what about the rest of you
Stop companies keeping customers on hold without indicating wait time
When will Of Om start to regulate companies that put customers and enquiries on hold with no indication of how long the waiting time will be adding huge costs to some
In some cases one can be put on hold for hours.
The technology exists to tell callers their place in the queue but not all companies use it
It's about time Ofcom forced companies to use it in fairness to the public
OfCom do not serve the public interest
OfCom do not serve the public interest. Their only 'stakeholder' seems to be private profit.
1. Their licensing of wireless spectrum takes no account of human health risks or damage to biodiversity. There has been no due diligence or environmental assessment at any stage. Yet they give companies Code Powers to force their equipment on people.
2. The billing of broadband services is outrageous. We are being seriously overcharged - especially those of us on low incomes - and in many cases tariffs are just not available where I live. And contracts are misleading - prices quoted are subject to annual inflation busting increases and potentially other rises. On my state pension I doubt I can afford broadband much longer.
Pointless & Useless
Pointless
Just read the @three reviews what are they actually doing about this fraudulent organisation.
Ofcom are totally useless
Ofcom are totally useless. When I asked them why mobile phone companies are allowed to increase charges by inflation PLUS 3.9% every year I got a load of gobbledegook about investment etc. If a company sets a price then I would expect them to have factored in costs for r&d and maintaining and improving and in any event not all mobile companies run networks they just pay to use them. Similarly with broadband. They all use BT infrastructure so what are they charging nearly 4% on top of inflation for?
This year O2 have said they will increase prices by 7.8% RPI plus 3.9%. That's a 12% hike even if you have a contract already. Absolute rip off and the so called regulator lets them get away with it.
Also the Competition and Marketing Authority does nothing even though all providers are clearly charging the same 3.9% proving there is no competition.
There isn't a single so called regulator in the UK that isn't in the pockets of the providers. A nd what's worse is that the likes of Ofcom are completely unaccountable.
Useless scam artists who take public…
Useless scam artists who take public money who bend over for the company.. friends will be friends.. vile people
Ofcom are a sham
Ofcom are a sham, they pretend to help the consumer but do very little.
When a contract ends, it should end, no 30 days notice! Mobile phone compaines are making tons of extra cash at our expense by continuing to charge the same amount after the contract ends and your phone is paid off, when you ask them to end the contract they bill you for an additional month.
Why have a website when you're making…
Why have a website when you're making me call you to complain anyway? Now I want to complain about you!
As bad as the firms the regulate - ineffective
I wanted to complain to Ofcom about how ineffective their regulation enforcement is - where telcos and broadband providers:
- routinely leave existing customers on over-priced tariffs
- present labyrinthine contact centre menus that never get you to where you need to go
- are very hard to speak to, with lengthy hold queues which finally end with someone who is hard to understand and totally unempowered
- deal with bereavement with insensitivity
- fail to act upon what they promise to do
- fail to deal with nuisance callers and scammers
... all of which I have experienced many times, and I could go on. Trustpilot reviews of Telco/ISP services paint an appalling picture of dreadful service across the sector. Judging by the reviews of OfCom here, they must recruit staff from the Telcos they regulate and adopt all their worst practice.
What is the point of ofcom?????
What is the point of ofcom?????
I've tried to complain about something I've seen on TV many times....but everytime I hit the submit button, it says error.
Wrong email address..
It's the same email address I've been using for over ten years, but it's not working on ofcom complaints.
First time it was we don't recognize your postcode????
Then my address????
Or my mobile number!!!!!
Just couldn't make it up.
Total waste of time....forget this!!!!
I've sent a email to my MP and the minister in charge of culture and TV.
Utter nonsense ofcom.
Hold your head in shame.
what a complete waste of time these…
what a complete waste of time these clowns are!!!!
They do not care what so ever, typical goverment funded company.
Allowing service providers to make well…
Allowing service providers to make well over inflation price rises. What is the point of Ofcom but to look after big companies interests.
Ofcom gets paid from the companies its…
Ofcom gets paid from the companies its suppose to investigate, Its all a con, Ofcom are useless, they just pretend to listen then say they cant help, wow in 2022 and we still cant communicate with these useless people.
Ofcom, What a joke
Ofcom continues to publish high performance data for ADR schemes, knowing full well they're not acting impartial and are in fact acting on behalf of the companies we are complaining about.
Just look at the reviews on here for Ofcom, CISAS, CEDR, TALK TALK
