It's a struggle to get them on the phone and when I finally did their communication skills were so poor it wasn't worth the effort. They didn't seem to understand even basic requests.

Park & ride experience

The staff are rude & don’t return your calls when leaving messages….

I am writing regarding a parking ticket received at Thornhill park & ride.

I went online to purchase the tickets following the guidelines, instructions on the website & made my payment.

I parked up & went into Oxford returning to a parking ticket which I appealed & of course lost even though I provided evidence that I had followed website instructions & evidence that I had made payment.

I was told the appeal had been rejected as not enough evidence that I’d paid for parking.

So please be careful when booking your tickets online that you are actually paying for the right thing.

I don’t mind paying if I deserved it but as far as I was concerned I had paid what I had to to cover my park & ride journey

I felt that my issue had been dealt with ......

I was chasing a house repair this morning and Les helped me.What a lovely person, friendly, professional. Polite with a calm reassuring manner. He listened attentively checked through my account, then talked me through the actions he was going to make. I felt that my issue had been dealt with properly and the relevant resolution had been found. I feel its so important to give credit to great customer service. Thanks Les

Corrupt

The handling of Clarksons Farm is an absolute disgrace! The council have shown themselves to be corrupt and unlawful. How you have treated a local farm/business is appalling. Everyone in the planning office needs to be sacked.

County Council at fault

Wanted to leave a review on Oxford County Council, but assuming that they know they are useless and have ruined Oxford with their transport strategy so don't exist on here.

Delayed responses, wrong information, lack of accountability

I'm a Shared Ownership resident in one of their new-build apartments. The lift in our building has been broken since 18th March, and is still broken today (3rd April). There was an issue of a voided warranty on the lift, and the blame was shifted between parties while the residents waited for someone to fix the thing.

Someone had given residents a false sense that the lift issue was being dealt with by placing official Danger stickers on the lift and shutting down the entire lift system. However, having taken the lift issue into their own hands, they then did not follow through and sort out the issue, resulting in a 17 day (and counting) delay.

When residents called the Council, through a generic phone line that handles anything from missing bins to homelessness, the customer service officers consistently gave bad information that the developers are responsible for fixing the lift, when the real issue was that an internal mistake had been made and the warranty was voided.

This points to a culture of lying and miscommunication in the customer service team, who will do anything to appease rather than proactively solve the problem. It also points out the inefficiency of the data management system being used by the Council, where information is clearly not easily accessible. I have heard mention of 'Teams messages' from the customer service officers, and have waited several minutes for them to look something up on their system. They are overdue for a technological upgrade.

I am on assisted collections for my…

I am on assisted collections for my waste. Lady week I rang as my food waste was missed. Pleasant lady on phone said it would be collected when the schedule allows, which means it wasnt. Today I know 100% that it has been missed again. I phoned, said i knew 100% it's been missed. Took my details. Then we went in to a discussion about where the bin is, it's in the same place it has been for years. Even a manager who came out in a previous year said it's ok where it is. Today i am told because of the wording on the system people might not realise it is where it is. It can be seen from the low gate, by my front door, possibly 2 or 3 paces from gate. I was told it cant be put on system until 4/4.30. Also that it is 2 to 5 days for them to come back out which means whenever bins are missed it wont be done until next time round. Also told in these situations we tell people to put it in the green bin, this means another 2 weeks before collection. Also why am i recycling the food waste to be told this. I was speaking and realised getting no response. I said hello a couple of times, call hadnt disconnected so all I can think is I was put on hold. After no response I hung up. The man I spoke to was called Les as he did tell me his name. He could see on the system that it said my street had been completed so this confirmed what I said that my bin had been missed. The refuse people do a great job in all weathers and yes things go wrong. Anyway my food waste bin is full so how cant recycle it. If it was warmer weather it would be worse. Refuse lorries have on the side about how much food waste goes in to landfill yet this is what I have been told to do.

Dreadful

Dreadful. Councillors don’t respond with facts. They respond to complaints (Andrew Gant) with deviations of their own. When questioned it all goes quiet. Presumably because the facts don’t fit their rhetoric.

school admission

trying to secure a school place for my child after moving internationally. Have been told today it can take up to 6 weeks. would not even take my details or offer me a route to escalate. How is it ok for a first world nation to withhold education for a high school student. very disappointing. this government agency ought to eb disbanded and local schools take over admission

ZEZ charge in Oxford

If you cannot remember your route in Oxford there is no way of knowing if you have incurred a ZEZ charge. This is unfair and seems to be a means of the council raising funds. For a visitor it is also difficult to find out that it is impossible to know if a ZEZ charge has been incurred. Time consuming and ridiculous. Not good for tourism. Not an honest way of raising funds.

URGENT!!

URGENT!!

I am currently living in GWP Didcot, in a block of flats that are 6 years old. We are currently living in an unfit environment due to poor structure and a lack of due diligence from the council.

I have had several employees of the council visit my home and tell me that "The people who made the building I live in did a rubbish job. They ran out of money and sold it on to the council".

Other issues myself and other tenants in this building are still facing:

- Flooded bathroom and bedroom
- Leaking vents in bathrooms for over 3 months
-Radiators don't work in the building hallway.
-Electric heaters spark when turned on and off
-Lights don’t work in the hallway (Hazard)
-Windows in the hallway are barred and cannot open
-Leaking mouldy windows
-The energy rating for flats including heating and water were rated very poor when first made
-Neighbours' windows shattered, were told by the council it was due to the freezing air outside and their heating too high inside. Which is ridiculous.
-Next door had to move out due to a major fire from faulty electrics and the council did not survey the building after repairs.
-Balcony structures are unsafe and hollow while railings are held on by nails.

Unable to empty Bottle Banks

4 weeks, 3 emails and still the Recycling Banks on Ferry Hinksey Road remain full to overflowing. SoS council that can't even organise routine , regular collections of recyclables yet their website spouts how green they are. I wonder how many tonnes of co2 have been created by folk driving back/forth to this recycling point wasting their time. 10 months later, same shi'ite ! Useless !!

**EDIT 2024 ** - All Banks now removed by council as they simply can't be a*sed it seems ! Way to go with the 'Commited to Green policy ' OCC Maybe time to instead focus on demonizing all drivers into Oxford...oh you already are!!

Still failing the people!

Is Oxford City Council the worst in the UK - YES! Our money is wasted on useless traffic pilot schemes and community initiatives that are dreamt up in their meetings - to just tick boxes rather than make life easier for the citizens of Oxford.

Oxford City Council

Oxford City Council are shambolic and useless. Late and erroneous communication (only replied after many prompts from me after complaining) with plenty of excuses. Very quick to ask for payment (funny that!) but elsewhere utterly incompetent. Good luck to anyone dealing with them.

Nuts , Loopy, Unhinged,

This Council is infested with Luciferianism. Evil, dishonest, and racially prejudiced staff , seemingly quite unhinged, unfit for purpose. esp the housing department who literally will to any lengths , including committing fraud and abusing victims of domestic violence, they actually said, that they did not believe that i had nowhere else to go. They then placed me in a B&B where I was sexually harassed by the maintenance man, a total creep who stalked me and who offered me money the first night I was there. When I exposed that, they refused to move me, forcing me to flee due to this harassment. They then proceeded after I had left to lie to others, when I was not even living in Oxford,... these people are low level white collar ... in addition, they never provided me with a file and violated my human rights. as a victim of domestic abuse, they merely abused me in another way and perpetuated this,
