DON'T YOU DARE USE PASSPACK!!!
Not only did they lose all of my passwords, but they were too incompetent to even hold me to ransom to sign up to their new platform because they actually did LOSE all of my passwords and were unable to access my account themselves.
Their apology was to actually ask me to sign up to their newer platform at a discount???!!!???

If their response were true, why did I receive this email message from Passpack Support when I complained about them losing my data...
"PasspackV7 has been demonstrating stability issues due to a macro that the vendor no longer supports... The problem manifests as a PackingKey issue" (one of the passwords needed for a customer to access their passwords); "...we are working to resolve the issue; however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to rectify the situation.
Passpack will happily grant customers experiencing this problem 12 months of free access to PasspackV10"
FYI they could NOT resolve the situation and my data was permanently lost.

I used the system for several years to store my passwords. I had around 100 key passwords in the system. I had no need to access the system in the pass few months but I knew my passwords are there when I need them. I attempted to log in yesterday as I needed to access a password and I was unable. I contacted their customer support and they informed me all my passwords are now GONE as I did not migrate from v7 to v10. I got no notice of this. They say they had notice on the website but I was not on the website. I received no email and the timeframe of notice for this change from the company is insanely short for such a MASSIVE change .
Shame on this company, I am in serious issues now as I have passwords and details in my account that are now irredeemable.

As many users state, this company has taken a turn for the worse highjacking all our data and asking for a non small amount of money to migrate it to the new platform. All of this without explicitely informing their customers via email.
Fraudulent, scamming company should be investigated and closed. Use BitWarden or other non scamming software.

WOW! I just tried to access my account and a message page come up stating this "Thank you for so many years, but per our announcement made 17-March-2023 Passpack version 7 is now permanently decommissioned."
I have not received one email informing me that this was coming down the pipeline otherwise I obviously would have copied all of my passwords.
Now if I want to get my passwords I have to pay them $100 and upgrade to a paid subscription. I'm in shock that a company can do this. This 100% sounds like the ransom scams that hackers pull on people to extort them from thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Passpack as a company should be investigated.

I have been using passpack 7 for years. Today I tried accessing it, and they said they discontinued v7, and that the only way to get my passwords back is to pay them 100$
I've seriously googled around to see if they hadn't been hacked or something (as there was no traces of their decommissioning it on their Twitter, I hav enever received one email about it, etc.) so I sent an email to customer service to know more.
They basically replied that it was my fault for not seeing their warning somewhere on the login page (because of course, a login page, you always read the page) and I should cough up the 100$ if I want access to my credentials again...

I was a small user for many years, on an older release of their service that was still being supported.
Some weeks back my passkey stopped working. They have admitted in writing that they broke their system but claimed they would try to fix the issue.
They contacted me once to try the passkey again, but no joy. Since then they haven't bothered to be in touch.
Protecting your data is literally the whole point of their service and they blew it.
Avoid - these days there are better alternatives.
Edit - to respond to their reply, I never claimed that the data was compromised. But I lost access to it due to a technical mistake on their side, and their communication about the issue suggested that they simply didn't care. If they messed up their old system, who says that their new system will be any better? Not a company I would trust.

I have used the company's main product, passpack.com for about 11 years, to securely store a small number of passwords (~30).
Today I have received an email explaining that Passpack has abandoned the original fremium model and will be allowing only paid-for accounts (18 USD/year).
While the product works fairly well for me and the web site has been kept up to date, the product itself hasn't been updated in many years in terms of functionality.
It doesn't really make sense for me to pay 0.6 dollars per stored password, so I'll find another alternative.
I wouldn't recommend the service to a new user.

Customer support is the worst. If you have an issue, consider your passwords lost. 3 support tickets, one since March 2020. Still no reply.
I have been with Passpack for a fair few years now and have around 250 unique passwords and notes held with them, and it's always done the job. I was on the Version 7 type of account, paying for Premium.
Last month there was some downtime that affected the Packing Key authentication page (my own idea of what happened, anyway). It basically said the key was incorrect, when I knew 100% that it wasn't (I'd been typing it in almost daily for about 3-4 years). Googling told me this happened every now and then they would eventually fix it. I contacted support during this time, explaining the issue, then again with the Google results I'd found, then again that it had been fixed and asking for information about it.
To confirm, they key was never wrong, it was just the background authentication service. This was 100% not user error. I tested it with multiple accounts (Private and an old work account).
All support requests were completely ignore with zero response. Googling shows this has become the new standard, it seems.
Today the same issue occurred again, and I was locked out of my passwords when I needed them. I got zero response from support again.
Twice is too much when my passwords are involved, so I've removed my passwords to another, more highly rated service and have deleted my account and will never recommend this service again.
As a password manager service it does the job, but you cannot count on support and that is very important for such a service as this. For this I rate them two stars, as I like the idea of multiple passwords to protect your account (Password and packing key) and the interface is nice to use. It doesn't have any flashy plugins or whatever but personally I've never needed or wanted those. Besides all this, three stars are lost for the support side of things as that is unacceptable in my opinion.
Great idea but a complete waste of time as it doesn't work with any system or website that requires multi-factor authentication. This would have been great in the 1990s but it's not fit for purpose now
Same problem as Mathijs Jonkers. They never replied to me. I have sent them 20 emails already. Do not use Passpack!
I lost all my passwords after using passpack for two years! Customer support sucks!
Hello internet,
I used passpack (paid subscription) for two years. A month ago i logged in and all my passwords were gone! In the app I see the normal amount of rows I usually have, but alle rows are empty. As I use it for my company I asked my staff members to check it. They can see the passwords I have shared with them in the passed. So I tried to share all my passwords. The new passwords I have shared with them are empty as well. So.... I contacted Passpack several times. The first times they said they were working on it, but now they do not respond anymore...

I've been using passpack for a year now, firstly the free service and since 3 months ago the paid service.
I have found it reliable and easy to use, i highly recommend it to anyone with lots of passwords etc in a little book like I used to have!
