After travelling to pick up our motorhome and trade in our previous one, we contacted RoadPro, and arranged to call in on our way home and obtained very helpful advice about installing off-grid equipment from Allen Jenner. Allen forwarded a quotation, after more discussion and advice via email, the proposed installation was modified slightly and agreed, including the addition of 5G MiFi.

As previously arranged, in early September we called into RoadPro on our way to France and Spain, for installation of the off-grid equipment, to allow us to be more independent in our travels. The installation took three days in our Carthago Compactline, and consisted of two OFF-GRID 150 lithium batteries, 80A Battery-to-Battery charger, 165W Solar Panel with MPPT Dual Regulator, 2000w Inverter with priority switch, remote control, & RCD, connected to all our mains sockets, and a Battery Computer, to monitor charging, discharge, and battery condition. In addition, we had a 5G external antenna & internal MiFi unit installed.

Each day, after a briefing on progress, and which equipment was ready for use, we drove the van back to a local campsite, and tested out the new installation.

After recently returning from our 16th European trip (59 days), we have now used the off-grid equipment sufficiently to provide a review. We packed away our hook-up cables after driving the van back after the installation was completed, and have not used them since. The trip covered varying conditions, including stops on some of our favourite campsites, some with sun on the panel, others with no sun due to tree shading, commercial aires (10 nights), where we paid less without electric, and 18 nights fully off-grid on wild-camping stops up to 6 nights duration.

The inverter has been used daily for hairdrier (900w), coffee maker & milk frother, and has also been used for an induction hob and for charging electric bikes (whilst driving).

With sun on the solar panel, the battery has generally been 90-100%, without sun on the panel, it has generally been 80-90%, with the lowest reading of 72%.

When driving, the battery to battery charger quickly brings the level to 100%

The only site set-up is now limited to putting the handbrake on, turning off the ignition, and getting the chairs out (except where levelling blocks required).

I have not yet fully mastered using the operation of the electronically controlled comfort-matic gearbox when running the engine whilst stationary, to use the battery to battery charger, when no solar charging available. More practice required.

The 5G system has worked perfectly, with only one hiccup, quickly fixed by a simple restart.

Damien’s very professional installation, and the advice from Allen and Howie were all first class. We would recommend RoadPro without hesitation.

I've just had my KonTiki Maxi fully converted to Off Grid by RoadPro. A big thank you to Allen, Damien and the team at RoadPro for a fantastic job.
300Ah of Lithium batteries, 500 Watts of Solar, a 2000 Watt pure sine wave Inverter, an 80 Amp B2B charger, and all the cabling etc to go with that. It was expensive, yes, but then top quality always is. I could have gone elsewhere and got a kit of parts from five or more different manufacturers, much of it "compatible" with Lithium but not necessarily "designed" specifically for Lithium (big difference); half of it perhaps made in China with the associated reliability issues; and with little or no guarantee or confidence that it would all work properly together. I didn't want that. I wanted top of the range kit, made in Europe by a top of the range European manufacturer of specialist equipment for Motorhome Off Grid conversions, and with all the major components of the installation designed and made by the same manufacturer so that I could have absolute confidence that it will all work properly together. That's what I wanted, and if you want that then you go to RoadPro. There is no one else. Not in the UK.

Last year had 2 lithium batteries and accompanying electrics,b2b charger,the original quote was with a new regulator but on inspection the one we had was ok saving money.Was kept lnformed all through instalation and stayed in van overnight to get work finished next day.this year went back to have an extra solar panel fitted.Went for a walk into Daventry Alan phoned to say due to shadow from sat dish solar panel
Would cut input so he advised a different panel again saved us money.overall their quality of work and knowledge is outstanding and wouldn’t hesitate recommending them.

What a great company to do business with. I has a sat dome fitted but unfortunately had a few issues with it, but with no fuss and grear customer service it was replaced under their 5 year warranty FOC.

I have always rated the knowledge and skill of Roadpro, but customer service is also very highly rated.

We bought a motorhome just over 3 years ago never having had one before. As we have become more confident and enjoy making long tours (both in the UK and on the continent) we wanted the capacity to tour more flexibly.
Roadpro provided advice as to what would be required to meet our needs as more independent motorhomers who did not want to be tethered by an electrical hook-up. They installed a solar panel and a lithium battery quickly and efficiently. The team at Roadpro were friendly and answered our many questions patiently and fully.
A few months later we still have needed to use our EHU and can tour making spontaneous decisions about where to stay without having to think hooking and getting power. Just what we wanted.

Just had 2 solar panels installed. Allen and his team have done a first class job. From the initial inquiry to the finished installation they have provided expert help and advice. Excellent company to deal with. Thoroughly recommend them. Thanks again.

We had a double NDS Lithium leisure Battery and Static Invertor system fitted by Roadpro last January and got to say it’s given our Motorhome complete off grid capability. Road pro are a delightful company to deal with and all the staff are first class Professionals! System has worked really well since installation and proved very reliable!

Super efficient service, communication and workmanship by the whole RoadPro team, from start to finish. Having purchased RoadPro products previously we were confident they were the company we wanted to use for our Lithium system upgrade. Having arranged our initial inspection to coincide with us travelling back up country we were very pleased RoadPro were flexible when we needed to change our date. At the end of the inspection we were all clear on the kit required and the cost. 2 x 150ah Lithium batteries, solar controller with display, B2B charger, 2000W inverter with remote switch. We were also lucky to be offered a cancellation slot much sooner than expected for the work to be done. Any questions and slight amendments to our initial requirements were answered swiftly and thoroughly with everything documented by the team so there was no surprises at the fitting stage. The option to stay overnight at the RoadPro premises (on a quiet industrial estate) ensured we were there early for day 1. Our “wish list” for positioning of all the items was discussed and taken on board, Damien did a 1st class job of fitting everything in to where we wanted it, neat, tidy excellent work. On collection the handover back to us by Howie & Allen was very thorough so we were clear on the function of the different pieces of kit and the apps that accompanied them. During the work we were kept informed of progress with photos via WhatsApp which was very helpful. At the end of day 2 a technical hurdle relating to our solar panels was encountered, this was dealt with and a solution identified by RoadPro, we were informed of the slight delay, this was followed up the next day with communication when the additional part arrived and when it had been fitted, allowing us time to drive over and pick up the Motorhome (Chausson Flash 610 2016 registered). We have been using the system which is working extremely well doing everything we expected. Tested using the (low wattage) 240v slow cooker, mini oven and kettle and charging of phones, iPads etc. B2B charger pushes in plenty of power to the batteries when the sun is not out to ensure we will be self sufficient for our future travels. Thanks to the team good job well done.

We wanted to upgrade the leisure battery in our VW Transporter to a lithium battery to allow us to camp off grid for longer periods without the fridge failing. RoadPro listened to our requirements and the information they gave allowed us to make an informed decision. The work was excellent and the van restored so we could not tell anything had been moved. Just returned from holiday during which we camped off grid for 10 nights. The battery performed perfectly as did the fridge. We would recommend RoadPro and would use them again without hesitation.

My experience with RoadPro started via a recommendation on a Facebook group. I got in touch with them to discuss my requirements for being able to be sufficient off grid in my new caravan and they made suggestions as to what I may need. I went for a Lithium battery, inverter, charger, battery monitor and dc to dc charger, which they fitted. The dc to dc is not currently being used as I tow with an electric vehicle and the manufacturer has disabled the auxiliary 12v feeds, however I decided to go with it in case it is towed with a different vehicle, the manufacturer of my car releases an upgrade or I change car.
The service I received was first class and the installation was very neat. I have already given the system a quick run through and it performed flawlessly.
Would have no problem recommending them or using them again. A very professional and knowledgeable outfit.

From the moment we contacted Roadpro and asked for a quote and advice about fitting a Lithium Battery we couldn't have wished for better service. On arrival Allen explained exactly what they were going to do and asked for our contact details to keep us informed. We were offered a loan car as the weather on the day was very wet and during the day we were sent update photos showing the installation. Damian had done a superb installation that was profession and neat. We are yet to try the system properly but have every confidence it will do all that we require. A big thanks to all the team.

There was only ever going to be one supplier I was going to for Lithium batteries and that was Road Pro. This was my second visit to Road Pro after having a satellite dome fitted many years ago on a previous motorhome that worked well for years and years. I had a couple of questions before going ahead with the work and Andy was able to help with his knowledge and experience so felt reassured I was going to be supplied with what I needed. I was booked in on the 6th/7th July. I had two lithium batteries fitted along with a 2000w inverter, battery to battery charger a digital display along with all the other components required for the job. Damian explained the job and how best to fit the equipment. Allen was also on hand and advised me that I could use a car while I was with them, and how he would send me updates of the work. I was with my son so having the car we could explore the area but didn’t get very far due to the close location of Daventry Country Park. Its a really nice walk plus it has a play ground and cafe. The town has everything you need as well so no need to go very far. We stayed over overnight at Road Pro, it was nice and quiet with hook up if you need it. If you are reading this review I recommend you invest your time and money with these guys. My motorhome was spotlessly clean after the work which shows they Care about the customer and they want to go above and beyond the customers expectations. Well done Road Pro another happy customer! Visited Roadpro today, 29/6/23, over an issue with my satellite system. Spares cannot be purchased for this any longer due to the primary supplier terminating manufacture.
However, Howard at Roadpro managed to correct the glitch I had, (it was trying to connect to a satellite that was not there and I could not change it) rebooted it and it’s now functioning normally.
I was not charged for the time spent correcting this

A great service from the RoadPro team at beginning of this month (May 23), thanks! Fantastic guys to deal with and very slick and well-timed operation. From listening to our intended usage, advising on our upgrade requirements and fitting of our lithium upgrade, all was very friendly and easy. Explanations and answers to questions were not too much trouble and, although we had every confidence we would be dealing with ‘the best’, we have not been disappointed! Everything has been done very tidily and we have been up and camping with no issues apparent and straight from their workshop! The addition of a B2B for each battery has meant we have experienced very swift recharge and regardless of our solar panel, so thanks for that advice. We also appreciate the thought that has gone into know we can boost our vehicle battery independent of the leisure batteries! Finally we feel confident now that we can also use our inverter and we have a packed touring and camping itinerary to enjoy, wherever life takes us!

The bill being less than quoted is evidence of the attitude at Roadpro. If you want to be treated fairly and given good advice, best products and super installation, then join the queue for Roadpro. I am sure that I now have a modern VW Camper with the right level of equipment to enable me to use it in the way I wish. Not the cheapest, nor the most expensive but certainly best value. Roadpro recently installed 2 NDS Black Solar panels, an NDS solar mppt, and a much higher output NDS b2b charger than the standard b2b that Knaus supplied with the 640meg motorhome. After listening to the Roadpro team's advice, the b2b upgrade is equally, if not more important than just adding solar panels. We're already noticing a massive improvement in topping up the lithium leisure battery capacity far faster whilst on the road between stops, and the NDS solar is taking better care of both the engine and leisure battery whilst the motorhome is parked up for extended periods.
Roadpro has many years of experience, are super helpful, and I wouldn't like to trust anyone else to work on the vehicle for any 12-volt or solar-related upgrades.
The Roadpro team offer impeccable workmanship and a wealth of experience and knowledge, and the team keep you well informed of the install progress throughout the fit. I highly recommend Roadpro.
