Just perfect

I was late with arranging travel from Saigon to MuiNe . Some people said you needed to book 2 days ahead , but on the same day , I went to the website completed the form , made the payment and when we arrived the drivers was waiting with a name card.
So .... just perfect.

Good service could be improved slightly with driver training

I was a bit annoyed when i landed and my driver was not waiting to meet me, I looked around for a bit and then rang the local contact on my booking form. The person that answered was polite and helpful and explained the driver was there and would find me. The driver appeared a few minutes later with my name spelt wrong (small things sometimes annoy you) and helped me with my luggage. The trip was meant to be around 4 hours but there was several occasions when my driver was doing around 25-35km/h on the way up to to Mui ne. The driver was certainly not confident and needs some more training as the trip took around 6 hours.

The trip back was far better, my driver was 25 minutes early but waited patiently for me, the best part I was organised and check out of the hotel was easy so we left 15 minutes early. The second driver was a far more confident driver and the trip back too just under 4 hours. I was watching the trip on Google Maps and he managed to pick the best suggested routes listed on Google maps.

Note they are not the cheapest option but booking a similar service with the hotel would have costed USD$150 each way so consider it a bargain. There are plenty of cheaper bus options but after seeing the quality of some of the buses and many of the bus drivers have little regard for other vehicles I felt much more comfortable with my private transfer. So if you are looking for a nice air-conditioned transfer I'd suggest these folks as it's quicker, easier and safer.

Note: Both drivers spoke very very limited English but were both polite and friendly (accept that English is often second to Russian in Vietnam)

Be carefull

The trip from Saigon to mui ne is dangerous by car. The service was reliable however the vehicle was not as described (no leather seats). You may want to consider taking the train as it is very safe and only $16. The driver took us to a rest stop with highly inflated prices - $21.00 for 2 bun mi sandwiches and 3 cokes. Same thing would cost $3 most other places. When I informed the Transfer service they didn't seem to be concerned stating the driver gets to eat free , seems to be some type of kick back - if the prices are inflated at the rest stop tell him to take you to another stop.

Great way to travel for a group of 4

We booked 2 days prior and were able to get the kind of car that we wanted. It started with a detour through Saigon since the driver was going to pick up a package. I feel that maybe he could have done this before going to the airport and picked us up but not a big deal. The driver we had going to Phan Thiet did speak some english, at least good enough for us to be able to ask things about what we saw and wondered about. Going back to Saigon the driver didn't speak any english at all which made communication impossible. Except that, both drivers felt like experienced drivers and didn't drive to fast or to crazy as some taxi drivers in Vietnam do. Overall we were satisfied with Saigon2MuiNe.com and would recomend them.

A GREAT RIDE!

We where picked up at the airport in Saigon by the driver who was very polite and professional. The car was a nice SUV. The ride to Mui Ne took much longer that I anticipated due to the roads, but it was a nice ride trough the countryside. Plan for at least a five-hour trip.
On the way back from Mui Ne to Saigon we had the pleasure to meet a very nice driver who was more like a guide and talked a lot about Vietnam and what to see and do.
I wish we had met him on the way to Mui Ne so that we could have used his services and go on tours. After the five-hour ride back to the airport I know much more about Vietnam and I really want to go back and explore more! Thanks for everything.

The ride of our lives............but only just

Positives:
Booking was extremely easy and good communications from the company.
Driver was on-time at the airport as agreed and clearly made himself known at the arrivals point.
Car was clean and we were offered a bottle of water for the journey.
Trip out of HCM City was fine, however after 2.5 the journey took a turn for the worst;

Negatives:
After 2.5 hrs on the road it was clear to us that the driver was struggling to stay awake, not great when you are on a single carriageway road with trucks and buses passing in the opposite direction - we suggested a coffee stop before we ended up in a serious accident!
After the stop the driving went from bad to worse and we genuinely feared for our lives at times. The overtaking manouvres we made on the larger road were scary but this was nothing when compared to the hair-raising 110KPH driving on the winding coast road before going through Phan Thiet.
The low point of the trip occurred just outside of Phan Thiet when the driver decided to answer his phone whilst overtaking traffic on an uphill blind corner.

Were we glad to finally reach our destination? Yes, would we recommend Saigon2Muine based on our experience with this driver? NO!!!! However looking at other reviews maybe we were unlucky?

Update following reply from Saigon2Muine;
I fully appreciate that Vietnamese and UK driving standards are totally different and cannot be compared. However, having experienced many different driving styles all over the world I find it hard to believe that a driver almost falling asleep at the wheel and driving recklessly (regardless of country!) would be described as 'normal' by the company. If this is considered 'normal' I would not recommend.

Dear Andrew,
On the behalf of our company, I'd like to apologise if you felt frightened.

Where you unlucky? Most probably yes, since we have an extremely small percentage of complains.

Has to be noted though that UK driving style and standards are way above Vietnamese.

What you experienced was perhaps a 'normal' Vietnamese ride, made much worst and frightening by the standard you are used to in your country.

Best regards

Efficient friendly service

I was really impressed with the service provided. My flight details changed meaning an earlier arrival, a quick phone call to Saigon2MuiNe resulted in the earlier flight being met.
it would have been good to have the booking verified via email, but given that I booked 24 hours in advance this may be unrealistic. Jo

Good journey and great driver

Our driver arrived on time, was very courteous and we had a very safe uneventful journey. The car was air conditioned and comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children. It was a little more expensive than others we found out but at least he was reliable.

Taxi Phu My Port to Saigon Airport

Cruise ship docked at Phu My port on time and taxi was booked for 10.00am. Checked all those at dock side who were collecting passengers, but could not find our driver. Then walked to entrance of port where our driver was waiting. Clean, air conditioned car. The driver got us safely to the airport in plenty of time to catch our flight to Cambodia. Would use this company again.

First class service

Car was waiting for me on arrival with my name displayed on hand held board (even spelt correctly). Driver was polite. On departure car picked me up on time from hotel and arrived at airport ahead of schedule.
Stress free! Couldn't ask for more.

Fine service even though our destination was not Mui Ne

We were picked up at SGN exactly on time. And even our destination was not Mui Ne but Than Tien, south of Phan Thiet, we were delivered safe and sound at our holiday destination. It was a long journey though, the next time we would prefer to use the toll way and less the A1 from the South.

Both sides of our trip to Mui Ne by Taxi

Its hard to rate this trip as the ride back was such a different experience from the ride there. Our driver was waiting at the airport as arranged, so no problems there. On the way there he stuck to very busy main roads, and drove quite carefully for the first half of the journey, but seemed to speed up and be way more impatient after our lunch stop. The trip there was ok in that we got there safely in the end, but I wouldn't call it enjoyable,in fact quite scarey at times, with overtaking in very dangerous places. Coming back was a completely different story. The second driver was very friendly, and drove most of the way through small villages. we followed the coast south for quite some time. He drove very carefully and we felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Not expected service for the price

Alot of miscommunication with regard to the driver. Also the weekend I rented a driver to go to Mui Ne, there existed no skills in finding (and lacking GPS to find things) when I was supposed to find the resort. Even though I wrote the name of the resort in the booking. Also alot of misunderstanding and unnessesary problems several other times regarding pick up time. One weekend there was one less passenger than booked (one got sick) and it was a hassle of dimensions with the driver and on telephone to the people responsible for the driver. Regard to the general price level in Vietnam, you would expect more when booking an expensive ride like this.

Reply from Saigon2MuiNe.com Private Transfer Service

Dear Robert first of all thank you for your business, and for booking SIX transfers with us in 3 different times over 30 days period.

I specify for who will read this:

7 to 9 November, roundtrip Vung Tau - Saigon - Vung Tau (booked on 5th November)
28 to 30 November, roundtrip Vung Tau - Saigon - Vung Tau (booked on 25th November)
5 to 7 December, roundtrip Vung Tau - Saigon - Vung Tau (booked on 3rd December)

Not sure why, since we offered you "such a bad service" and we are "so expensive" you kept booking with us and you did not use any other cheaper provider.

Thank you also for this 2 star review, although we clearly did not deserve it, since you have been very good returning customer.

Who would ever keep booking services with such a bad Company again and again?

Food for thoughts...

Excellent service

Had a return transfer from Saigon to Mui Ne. Both drivers were friendly, courteous and punctual. The transfer was a good price considering the distances involved. Stefano answered all of my emails promptly and was very helpful. Would definitely use this company again.

interesting ride in many ways

We were picked up at the airport in HCMC. The driver was outside and ready to go, when we arrived from Phu Quoc. The driver was not very good at english, so we did not speak that much during the ride. The car was very good for a long ride. Especially good, because there was a horrible traffic out of HCMC. On the webpage it was written that the trip would last 4 hours. Our lasted almost 6! On the ride, the driver suddenly saw the police and turned the car arround, stepped out of the car and just left. Not very pleasant for us, as we had no idea what was going on! The driver spoke to a local who showed us a way around the police, so they did not see us. The driver just said 'pheeeew' and smiled and we went on. So as You can understand we felt the same thing, when we arrived to the hotel in Phan Thiet.

Dear Mr. Sternberg,
thank you for choosing Saigon2MuiNe.com as your transfer provider and for taking the time to write a review.

As it is clearly mentioned on our website ( http://www.saigon2muine.com/services/private-taxi/transfer-routes/ho-chi-minh-city-to-mui-ne ), the trip between Saigon and Phan Thiet can take from 4 to 6 hours. Your trip was of average length.

I'm glad you noticed the skill of our driver managing the very dense traffic in Ho Chi Minh and the comfort of our car for the trip.

As for the "police" issue, please note that Vietnam is an highly corrupted country, and the driver is instructed to avoid at any cost encounter with police (new, big car and wealthy foreigners is a bad combination at a police block), so to make the trip as short and stressless as possible.

None of our drivers are very good at english, this is a fact and not one of our worries as we DO NOT promise english speaking drivers. Many other company do, but it's a lie.

Regards

S2MN Team

Perfect pick up and delivery

We had a lateish flight into HCMC and got picked up promptly by an air conditioned car at 1pm to head out to Mui Ne. Our driver didn't speak any. English, but skillfully travelled through a very wet Saigon and we proceeded out to Mui Ne in the exact amount of time suggested. It was pretty rainy, dark and stormy by the end of our ride and although the driving seemed pretty scary to us, our driver awesomely negotiated roadworks, scooters with no headlights, slow trucks and even buffalo to get us safely to our destination on time. We even stopped for a great Bahn Mi on the way there and back. It was great to be safe in a air conditioned private car both ways, we would use this service agin. They were prompt and even though we only organised it online the night before we headed out, it was a seamless transaction.
