Hidden fees and NO refund: avoid this service!

I went just one minute over my call allowance and immediately received a bill of nearly €40—with no prior warning that my minutes were running out. I only discovered it the next day. Absolutely outrageous!

I contacted the company, expecting some understanding or goodwill, but they refuse to issue a refund. This is completely unacceptable.

Do not subscribe to this service. They charge hidden fees and show zero customer care.

I request a refund for this criminal charge.

Very difficult to communicate with

Very difficult to communicate with, I tried ordering a phone with the sim card plan and got rejected SEVERAL times without an explanation and everytime I messaged or called I'd never get any helpful answers!!

Okay provider, but greedy monetization schemes.

Okay provider otherwise, but in my opinion it's predatory to charge for a data limit. Do not trust them to keep your best interests in mind. My wife turned off her data as soon as she got a notification that she was over her bundle, and now she's paying a significant portion of the monthly cost for the measly 56 megabyte of data that she went over. If you don't want it to happen, you have to pay them an extra charge monthly. I'm sure that technically, this doesn't cost them anything. Seems like a bit of a protection racket.

How can you be online in 15 minutesif it takes 24 hours to get 2 emails to login to look at your login details ? Sorry if that email is true, then I need my money back. Need now a phone number !

Good quality, good prices

I've been a Simyo customer for about 10 years. Quality is very good, user experience has been steadily improving as well. Prices are great too.

The only downside is the rather complicated system of accounts and contracts. I just ordered a new number, for my daughter. She just needs a number for now, no mobile internet and almost no calling. I ordered prepaid. While ordering, Simyo told me we can get 10 euros each if we make up a family. We do, so I tried. Nope, it turns out you can only get family account if you order Sim Only, not Prepaid. Not only can I not get that 10 euro discount for each of us (but they did promise 5 euros off the first invoices, let's check), but I cannot manage her contract either. I hope I didn't misunderstand them. But if I did, it only proves my point ))

An absolute scam !!! €116,68 for 786 MB !!!

An absolute scam. They billed me €116,68 for 786MB I used above my current plan. Yes, that's megabytes, not gigabytes!
They seem to charge €0.15 per 1MB for data overage, and they don't cap your usage by default. To enable the capping, you need to pay €0.50 per month for a very basic functionality.
I'm eligible to KPN Compleet which would have given me 20GB instead of 10GB, but that was never activated by them, because their system is not detecting that I'm eligible. Talked to their customer support and besides "Try again", they were of no help.

In short, it's a scam. It's designed to make you endure these super high charges (I wonder if that's their main revenue stream)
!!! €116,68 for 786 MB !!! What world are these people living in.

I'm looking forward to the end of my contract so I can switch to another provider.

We always send two warning text messages if your internet bundle is (almost) finished. One when 80% of your internet bundle has been used and one when the internet bundle is 100% used. The last message informs you about the rate of € €0.15 per MB. It also lets you know that you can decide to add an extra bundle or to turn off the mobile data on your phone to avoid costs outside the bundle. Have you seen these messages? We block your SIM card as soon as you have incurred high costs within a short period of time to prevent the costs from running even higher.

We would like to view the subscription with regard to the costs outside your bundle and Simyo Compleet. Could you e-mail us to webcare@simyo.nl with a reference to this review? We would love to help you further.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Whilst disputing an interest payment when Simyo only attempted the payment once and speaking directly to their customer support team they preceded to double the fee.
Outrageous practises and no trust in this business. Avoid.

Scammers more than service providers

The key is that Simyo’s focus is to maximise revenue, not to optimize customer satisfaction.

Simyo attracts customers by offering competitive packages with limited data access within EU and no allocation outside EU. Exceeding the limits will lead to exorbitant charges, like 500 Euro in 8 minutes data usage at the airport in a non-EU country, 2,000 Euro for usage outside package of a few GB in data within EU.

This is in no relation to any actual cost made (10GB within package is charged 2 Euro, excess charge for 10GB is more than 1,000 Euro).

The result is a very unreliable provider, a company you basically do not want to deal with as it makes you feel they are after finding ways to “get” you.

very limited and every little thing costs extra cost.

I’m really not happy with Simyo. Everything feels very limited and almost every little thing seems to come with an extra cost. One of the most frustrating things is that the moment I cross the border into Germany or Belgium, my mobile data stops working completely. I immediately receive a message saying I need to pay extra to use data, which was a huge disappointment.

I genuinely believed that Simyo would work throughout EU Zone 1 without issues, as most providers offer this by default. Unfortunately, now I realize that going for the cheaper option wasn’t worth it in the long run. As soon as my contract ends, I’ll definitely be switching to another provider

Regarding your mobile data abroad: within the EU, you should normally be able to use your bundle just like you would at home, without any extra charges.
