This company is a scam

This company is a scam. They offer cheap monthly internet usage. When you are comfortable with using them. They wait until you run out of data and DO NOT INFORM YOUR WHEN YOU DATA PLAN IS FINISHED. THEY THEN CHARGE YOU A DISGUSTING AMOUNT OVER.My plan ran out for 2 days. They charged me €205!!!!!!

They now offer the service to pay extra to be alerted when your plan is nearly over. 50 cent extra per month. So they know what they are doing and scamming people. The company is a joke

We always send a text message when a data bundle has been used for 80% and another text when 100% has been reached. If you did not receive these messages, we’d be happy to investigate further.

Regarding additional charges, once a data bundle is fully used, any further usage is billed at the standard out-of-bundle rate if you don't buy an extra bundle. To help customers manage their data, we now offer an optional service to stop the usage when the bundle is finished. This is entirely optional and meant to provide an additional layer of awareness.

Monica - Great customer service The Netherlands

Monica from the Netherlands helped me perfectly. I am very glad with her service. Very knowlegdable. With KPN it took multiple calls and we didn't come further. I called with Monica from Simyo, and in 5 minutes she helped me with what I was looking for. Perfect!

Simyo has a polite customer service…

Simyo has a polite customer service team that is completely powerless to do anything meaningful for the customers. The company actually treats their customers poorly and unfairly. If everything works exactly as advertised cool, but if anything goes wrong nobody cares and you will not see your money again. In order to improve Simyo should trust their own employees for a change and empower them to provide service.

eSIM 4 days I myself tried to let it work then thru Chat with Support Simyo succeeded!

After getting my eSIM 31 Jan '25 (Samsung Galaxy S 24+) despite all Tricks in the Book it wasn't working: no SMS received, could not set up my new (Business) WhatsApp Account. On Feb 02 '25 Mert of Simyo Support did help me with a lot of Patience and to her Best Ability. After we went thru the Simyo App --> SIMM then erase all (do this only on instructions of Customer Support!) and restarting the SmartPhone whereby in Airplane Mode on, Mert did upload the eSIM again. If you do see in the Menu above "Simyo" or "KPN" then it's all done! Also test the new eSIM by sending yourself a SMS or set up an WhatsApp Account for that Phone Number (meanwhile wait for the Code to confirm the WhatsApp Account!). Great Work Folks at Simyo over there!

Don't be fooled by their lower price

Don't be fooled by their lower price. They have zero customer service and randomly charge fees for services which are NOT included in the plan. Travel to Canada with a Canadian sim card? Expect a 65 euro fee for turning ON ur phone on a non-authorized carrier. Good luck contacting support....

When travelling to countries outside zone 1 your bundles are not valid. Therefore we advice to not use the Simyo sim card in these countries and turn off your settings in your my Simyo. We also send a text messages when entering a new country which states if your bundles are valid or if there are other tariffs.

Useless way of notifications to get double paid?

Prepaid esim has been deactivated, apparently emails were sent which ended in spam while commercial emails were not.
It does not make any sense to send emails instead of sms or both, it is like Simyo wants you to pay twice.
Phone provider not using the phone services for key notifications is just a joke

Your Prepaid connection is automatically cancelled if you do not use it for 6 months. It is true that we always send 2 reminder emails about this before your connection is actually terminated. We are sorry to hear that you missed these emails and that your Prepaid was terminated as a result.

Sometimes we can still reverse this termination within a certain period of time, but we see that your Prepaid was already terminated a month ago. When that much time has passed, your connection will be permanently terminated.

We will pass on your tip internally to also send reminders by text. After all, we are always open for improvement. Our apologies for the inconvenience.

SIMYO SCAMMERS

After cancelling my prepaid membership, they clearly told me on the phone that they would refund. After 2 months of sending emails, they just reply and say the don't offer refunds. Simyo is a scam, dont go there.

Blatant scam company

Blatant scam company!I paid 5 euros on their website to order an eSIM card, but they sent me an email refusing to create the eSIM, but they didn't refund my 5 euros, that's their trick of scamming!

After you went to great lengths to get in touch with them and provide information to request a refund, they brazenly asked for your ID proof, is Simyo an operator or a police officer, or a 100% fraudster?

Worst service ever

Worst service ever. Refused service as my bank account name didn’t match however still took money out of my account and then refused to refund. Terrible company should be charged with theft.

It is possible that your order was rejected because the name on the Simyo account did not match the name on the bank account. In such cases, we always inform customers via email.

In this case, it would be best to send an email to klantenservice@simyo.nl or contact us through our customer service chat with the following document:

A copy of the name on your bank account or a copy/photo of the relevant bank card (make sure to obscure the card number to prevent fraud, or use the KopieID app from the Dutch government). This will help us confirm that you are the account holder and approve the order.

If you send us an email at webcare@simyo.nl with a reference to this review and your personal information, we can check if the refund is on its way.

Terrible customer service - please avoid

Recently, I had the problem of Simyo charging me 60.50€ within minutes of landing in Turkey. Of course, this wasn’t intended and the only way I could have avoided this was to turn off my roaming data before landing in Turkey. As you can imagine, when travelling within Europe, it might be difficult to remember to turn off roaming as you’re busy with all the airport stress already. I then did my research and realised I was charged l 5€/MB! My partner had the same issue with another provider, but he managed to get it waived no problem. I talked to a Simyo representative, Samantha, who was being condescending and displayed 0 empathy to my situation even though I explained that I did not receive the border message informing me of the rates. She insisted that I turned the option off but when I said I didn’t (I received border messages from other countries) she said and I quote, “Too bad you didn’t receive it this time but we sent it, be sure to turn off your data now to avoid further costs”. I was appalled as I’ve never received such messages from customer service from a professional company before. Could it be a translation issue? Even though she offered me a refund of 12.74€ out of the 60.50€, I would not recommend this service as refunding 12.74€ out of 60.50€ for unintended costs is not worth the hassle to bear such attitude from customer service.
The plans are cheap but they find all sorts of additional ways to charge unwitting customers.

Stay clear from Simyo

If I could give a lower score I would.
Customer service is beyond a joke.

In short, didn't see that anywhere there is a month termination period.
And still trying to get money out of me months later.

Takes them days to respond, then when you reply again, it takes days to respond, "who are you again, what was the question" you guessed it... again days to respond, talking to a new person each time.

Strongly recommend to go elsewhere

Disgusting illegal company

Disgusting illegal company. Stay far away from this company and stick to any other telecom. I got an €8 sim only plan with them but cancelled within 14 days, but they still charged me the same amount despite cancelling within the cooling period. Now they are suddenly telling me I need to pay €50 as "administrative costs have been added" as I have "not paid for the services" (I reversed the charges as it should have been refunded). They are threatening me to send it to a debt collector even. Absolutely illegal behaviour and breaching EU laws.
