One star is far more than this joke of…

One star is far more than this joke of a rail company deserves. If they really tried their hardest (for once), they might attain the dizzy heights of Atrocious. Making the lives of thousands of commuters a misery on a daily basis and charging the earth to do it.
Get rid or re-nationalise.

Yes, serious issues with delays, but still better than driving

I have been commuting with SWR for around 6 months now and yes, there are obviously some serious issues with delays, but I have found that about half the time, these were not directly the fault of SWR, for example, trespassers on the line and the like. Whenever I have experienced a delay, the guard has always kept us informed and been as helpful as possible, letting us know if alternative transport has been organised etc. I have also found the compensation service does go some way towards helping the situation. The coach refit with the charging plugs next to the seats is great for me and thankfully the service I get is not too busy. It is far from ideal, but thankfully my job is understanding and frankly, for me, it is still a better alternative than driving as most of the time, the trains do run on time.

This is becoming beyond a joke

This is becoming beyond a joke. Every day the train is delayed by several minutes at London Waterloo to Dorking causing me to miss the final bus from the station. Which means I either have a 30 min walk or have to pay out for a taxi. This is the 6.54pm service. I complained and they came back with absolute rubbish regarding their plans to improve the service. Those 3, 4, 7 min delays plus cancellations are unacceptable! They should choose to strike for us because of the suffering we have to go through on a daily basis

Guess what it's happened again late late late missed bus again because of south west trains

Guess what it has happened again. Bus missed because if the train coming in late again

Rubbish staff

The train stopped at my stop, so I went to open the door, I kept pressing the button but the door didn’t open. So me and some of other people told him and rather than helping us, he just told us to move out of the way and closed all the doors. The train literally stop for 10 sec and went because they where running late.

Avoid if you value your wellbeing

Avoid if you value your wellbeing - they are always running late (esp. evening commute) and will dump you half way home so that they can skip stations to catchup with their overrunning schedules. Recurring nightmare!

Terrible Service

Terrible Service! I pay £200 a month on Travel, and almost never get to work on time. There are Delayes and Cancellations every day and Railway Works Every Weekend! It is so frustrating and not respectful towards so many commuters using this line.

Disgusting train service

Disgusting service trains are either delayed or cancelled every single day. I rarely ever leave or arrive on time. And they have ruined many trips/ days out.
Avoid at all costs!
This service really is a joke.

An embarrassment

An embarrassment, people need to be held accountable for this daily mess. The issues have been ongoing for years, it feels like absolutely nothing is being done to address them. Oh wait they did a timetable change and what did that achieve? F ALL!!!

Worst train line in country?

Honestly, Christian Roth needs sacking from south west. Possibly the worst run train line in the country.
Trains are cancelled daily and then followed by reduced carriages meaning you have two trains worth of people attempting to board half a train.
When you’re paying the best part of £500 a month to travel to work and are constantly having to cancel meetings it’s pure robbery!

Basically every single train is either…

Basically every single train is either delayed or cancelled. It is thus impossible to consider this service as a reliable one. It is more akin to taking a bus, where schedules, and arriving/departure times are very rough approximates. Unfortunately, the prices are very high for their tickets, which is unjustified for such a quasi-bus service. I believe this could be viewed as a sort of unethical business scheme: pretending to have a schedule, while almost never holding times, and insisting on very high priced services.

Daily delays on every single service…

Daily delays on every single service accompanied by annoying apologies by train guards every 5 minutes as though delays are a rarity on SWT.

It's so incredibly disruptive and frustrating when people make the effort to be somewhere on time but never make it because of 30+ minute delays.

Unbelievably poor

Unbelievably poor. I wait 40 minutes for a train on a crowded platform at Vauxhall, and finally get on. I'm assured by signs on the platform and the train that it's heading to my station, Raynes Park. And then it sets off down a completely different branch line. At no point is there a word of explanation or apology from any of the staff. As someone else has said on here, chaos is the norm every day for this outfit. They're an embarrassment.
