If I could give this train service no stars I would

If I could give this train service no stars I would. I have just experienced the worst customer service I have ever had whilst trying to book a ticket. This person on the telephone did not listen and was not helpful in anyway and one can understand why this southwesttrains has a very bad reputation - very unhelpful.

Always seem to be running late these days.Today all services I used were running late as seems to be the usual these days.It seems to have got much worse since it was taken over from South West Trains.
Also lack of fast services between Walton on Thames and London Waterloo during peak times.Fast trains just running behind stopping trains calling at the same stations.Pointless!!I am just giving up and going back to the car.

Indescribably awful service

Indescribably awful service - no star if that was an option
They are late every morning between 5-20+min (Dorking & Guilford line to Clapham Junction) , can’t buy season ticket on line due to – do to ‘delivery service available’ why can you make this as simple as TFL does it????
No staff in the ticket office for most of the time – Monthly ticket you can only buy in the ticket office apparently...!?
They don’t care about our bad reviews; they know that we are going to use them anyway since you don’t have any alternative way of commuting!!!!

Disgraceful

Disgraceful, disgusting, useless, incompetent, words are not enough to describe this joke of a company. Clowns, they shouldn’t be allowed to operate. They don’t care about the bad reviews, they know that you are going to use them anyway since you don’t have any alternative way of commuting. What exactly is government doing about it?

Can’t even get online to find out why SWT are so s**t?

Jesus wept, where do I start? Let’s go with the obvious, shall we: my train was late into Waterloo again! In fairness, only by 5 mins this time (which by SWT’s standard is practically punctual), but the very fact we’ve all become so inured to this sort of sloppiness really does say a lot. Next there’s the carriages themselves. Aside from looking like they haven’t been modernised since the mid-80s (no, I’m not exaggerating), they’re also about as comfortable as sitting on an angry porcupine and as pleasant as watching a video of yourself masturbating with your grandparents. I’m not saying they have to feel like flying first class, but £120 return for this rancid, stain-coated test-tube?! Finally, and by far the most annoying thing for me personally, is the onboard WIFI, which unsurprisingly is about as useful as trepanning. Note to SWT Directors: IT’S 2019 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!! I don’t know if you heard, but a few years back they invented this little thing called ‘the Internet’? It’s kind of a big deal now and might be worth installing a modern high-speed router that actually works, rather than the dial-up modem you’ve clearly been too tight to ever upgrade from. We live in a fast-moving world and would all like the ability to get online during our long commutes to search why SWT trains are so s**t and post scathing reviews about how terrible your service is.

I’m too young to remember a time when the railways were nationalised, but all this does beg the question as to how much worse they could possibly have been compared to now? Prices are ridiculously expensive and every year profits are reported as sensational, so where exactly is all that revenue being spent? Certainly not on improving the services, that’s for sure.

I wish I could Google whether any of the other train operators are as bad as this one, but unfortunately the internet still isn’t working! 🤦‍♂️

Terrible service as usual

Terrible service as usual. Delays that lead into cancellation, dated train carriages that get cramped on peak times and some staff lack of information to actually give the honest truth to what's really happening regarding actually arrival time.

Steam trains were more reliable

These trains are genuine antiques, built during the last century. The guard on our second train (the first one broke down) told us they were older than he was. When they work they are noisy and uncomfortable. The crews are great and do the best they can, they deserve medals; the head office and customer service are shysters. Try getting a refund via their web site, it’s a minefield. Every obstacle possible has been put in the way of obtaining the legal right to compensation, they ought to be prosecuted.

Terrible service

Terrible service, no reliability, strikes all the time. If the NHS or the police had the same terrible service standards it would significantly harm the people of London, yet we only see this problem with Southwest and TFL. No other transport system in Europe is like this, why should the transport system for London be any different? When will there be any sense of accountability to address this constant poor service?

By far the worst !

This company needs to be taken over by the government and stop them from ripping commuters off for the most terrible service . Yet another strike for those miserable gits, which means packed, delayed and reduced times .

Ageing trains, filthy toilets l, grumpy staff, loud and annoying announcers in the morning train makes you want to jump out of the train.

Not like you ran a good service to begin with.

I hate SWT with passion

Disgusted at another RMT strike

Disgusted at another RMT strike. What actually is their issue? Guards on trains I'm sick of hearing this poor excuse that it is for our safety. As far as I'm concerned they can do away with all the guards!!. They are not seen adding any benefit to passengers, only heard repeating announcements that are delivered by an automated service. 'located in the middle etc ' is a joke. You never see them or could find them if you were in trouble. So yes another week of commuter misery and a nice week off for selfish RMT members - enjoy your extra holidays (funny how they're never in the middle of winter, call me a cynic.!) Government should shut down abusive unions powers now!

Very bad service, always delayed, it’s a rare occasion when trains run on time. Not worth their money and they have very little respect for the customer.

TERRIBLE TEAM MANAGEMENT

On 30 May 2019 I lost my bag in the train. Someone gave to the staff at Kingston Station. They answer my phone and said to pick my bag anytime from there. When I finish work, I went there and Mr. AKIN BABATUNDE didn't want to give my bag saying that don't have any info, I should have gone there in the morning, that it's not his problem, that no one loose their bag with everything inside, etc. I asked kindly if he please could check in the drawers on his office (next to the rail) he refused saying that im no one to say how he need to do nothing. He closed the window while I was talking to him. I ask what's wrong with him and to please help me. He refused again and I call him rude and not human. I didn't say nothing to him to be treated like that. I stay there 2h, some staff saw and went to talk to him to look my bag, he refused. He make me leave my house 5am next day to go there to pick my bag with the staff that start at 06:30am. That gentleman,on 31May, was great. I arrived there and imediatly, he open the drawer and the bag was there all the time. I came to know that Mr. AKIN BABATUNDE, is supervisor of the station and my question is: "how come someone without any manner for the costumer, can train staff??" Ah, and I had to repeat my situation to him 4times, because he was talking on the phone while he was asking me what's my problem!? I never been treated like this. I hope someone do something. Because I work with people and I treat someone like this I would be fired straight away.

Terrible service

Terrible service. New timetable promised more trains, but in reality it just means more trains are cancelled due to conjestion. Trains that we take as the go via clapham, the interconnection hub decide not to stop at clapham.

Delays, last minute cancellations and high cost

I'm all for using public transport to help combat pollution and congestion issues - but the cost of travel, when compared to the level of service, makes it so hard to justify. Delays, last minute cancellations and an infrequent service make taking the train almost a complete no go for me, unfortunately.

Honestly a pathetic service

Honestly a pathetic service. The absolute cheek of the refreshments man, James McSomething, my bag was placed on the floor, sticking out slightly. As he tried to get by with the trolley, he couldn’t as my bag stopped him, so I then kindly moved it out the way for him. He then said “oh look at that, there’s space at the top” so rudely and belittling, I am truly mortified at the extreme rudeness of the man and I will think twice about using or paying for a service as rubbish as this. And for the record, I would have rated it 0 stars if I could!

tried to claim for a delay on the…

tried to claim for a delay on the service between Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour. The train arrived 10 minutes late getting into Portsmouth, which made us miss our ferry to Ryde, giving us a 35 minute delay. All they said that the delay was under 15 minutes, so we can't claim. Trying to explain to them is like talking to a brick wall. They then said I was on a different service. They will say and do anything rather than pay a genuine claim.
