A joke!

Simply SWR has been really poor since taking over from SWT. Even the updating of the trains branding is a joke. What a mish mash of updates after over 18 months of running the service. Trains partly done, not done, some half done, inside, outside etc. Useless!!

I paid £100 for the following

I paid £100 for the following:
1) to be frozen alive by seriously over enthusiastic air con (we are in April in the uk, hardly a tropical climate)
2) to stand for an hour due to lack of seats
3) to enjoy the luxury of walking a ten carriage train to find zero working toilets
Always a pleasure using you South Western railway.
Not a happy start or end to my day.

The worst service on Shepperton line

The worst service on Shepperton line. The trains break down quite often on this line. No communication at all when the trains are delayed. I have been complaining and showing my utter disappointment but who cares? I don't have any faith in the Government, Department of Transportation, Travel Watch force (whatever it is called) and judicial system. Customers will choose different options abandoning the journey (e.g. driving or taking tube etc) when the trains are delayed by unknown time or cancelled. But the claims are rejected saying that "you are not supposed to travel every day if you have seasonal ticket?". If you complain to London Travel Taskforce, they would ask you to refer to operator's passenger charters guide. I don't understand the season ticket holder's rights when the trains are delayed by unknown time and cancelled. I don't know why Shepperton line trains are very old and aged and I don't know when new trains will be introduced. It's my ill fate that I had chosen in an area serviced by South Western Railway.

Utter BS

Utter crap. Paying for a service you don’t get is call stealing. Your company is stealing from all its customers who dont have a lot of other options sometimes and have to take the crap from this stupid company. Unreliable, never on time, absolute disgrace!!!!utter crap “service”...you normally would call the police for someone stealing your money I feel like doing the same about this company. I may as well actually walk to London or cycle.

Terrible service since the company…

Terrible service since the company rebranded from South West Trains to South Western Railways. In the past two weeks there have been two major disruptions, two times the train arrived 15 minutes late and one time - an hour late. They have a compensation system, but the claims are being rejected with no way to appeal.

Sort it out South West Trains.

Sort it out South West Trains.
I've travelled to and from the Isle of Wight for years now and practically every time I have missed the train to ferry connection because of your terrible service, no matter where the starting destination may be. In other words, you are crap, and charge a bomb for your crap service, which quite often fails to even provide a seat for many of your customers.
There's a reason you have 1 star rating across your online reviews and here's mine to add to that reputation.

This company should be fined to high heaven and then be served with a 5 year fare freeze until they can prove to travellers that they understand the words 'RELIABILITY' and 'EFFICIENCY' and let's add 'VALUE FOR MONEY'. Persistent delays and cancellations every single day. They have the nerve to put inspectors on the trains checking customers' tickets for their shoddy service. My train was one hour late last night and the.driver was the most irritating fool, he kept referring to the train as 'spectacular'..commuters don't nees your silly jokes at the end of the day so just do your job and keep it neutral.

Rather travel by being dragged on my back by a horse carrage

I have to get the train regularly to London for my training.... I paid 63.20 for a return which in my eyes is a decent amount to get to and from London but what I expect is no delays or cancellations trains to take me to where I need to go as 2 times not the train will go to a different station then they are ment to as the trains where dead when I asked .... and not to mention the wifi is so shocking on here I have decided to use national Express may be and extra 30 mins but it's cheaper and least you get the service promised.... 3 train rides and unhappy on all of them and no reply to my email I sent about a conductor and my travel home last time. Your all on strikes every weekend... if you are charging more for train rides with the increase in ticket price rises, surely you would give a better service than normal to get more people to travel.. atm all I can see is 1 star reviews and think the company is not bothered how it is run at all...

..... I personally would get rid of southwest trains and travel by horse carrage or hot air balloon it's cheaper, warmer and possibly has better wifi and staff.... WHAT A UTTER DISCRACE

What an absolute joke from start to finish. Could not get home again because of an unexplained reason, but train was fairly empty and it turned around and went back in the direction it came from. No reason. No explanation. No train home. Again. Just take the car or fly.

Travelling from Surbiton to Waterloo a journey that is advertised as 17mins hence paying a premium to live in this location, we are awarded by daily delays, cancellations, overcrowding and high rail prices. My journey from Surbiton to Liverpool st should take me 23mins in average takes my 1.5 hours. 3/5 days there are issues. Worse than dreadful service.

Disgraceful service

Well I wish we had checked this before using the service! Today we decided to take our 2 yr olds twins on a train for the first time since they love anything Thomas related! We left the house hoping to catch the 12.24 to Exeter. Arrived at Plymouth station around 12.15 and made our way to the ticket desk. Baring in mind we had never been here before or purchased tickets. The girl at the desk didn’t even look in our direction as we told her where we wanted to go etc. Anyway we disregarded that got our tickets and headed off to the platform to find it was number 8, furthest away. Baring in mind we had 2 toddlers on foot with bags! We ran all the way there, my partner arriving at the train at 12.23 and 19 seconds closely followed by me and my other son 2/3 seconds later. The woman on the platform then informed us it was too late to get on and we had to get the next one. Didn’t even look at us while saying this. When we questioned it she simple said train doors close a minute before departing. We asked why we weren’t told this considering the time we bought our tickets said 12.20 and her reply was it’s not our responsibility to tell customers that, if you have a problem see the woman who sold you the tickets. Again without even looking at us!!! This experience ruined our day, we spent the next half an hour with toddlers crying train train train and quite frankly we were appalled that we had spent £20 on such a poor service. In future we will drive but can I suggest you do some serious training with your staff on how to deal with the public.... Also on spending time in the train station we saw signs saying doors close ‘UPTO 40 seconds’ before departure time so not only was that woman working on the platform impolite, miserable and unhelpful, she was also a liar. The world we live in would be a much nicer place if people were just nice to each other! Maybe include that in your training policy. Won’t ever travel again with you again, so disappointed 😡

Pathetic service

Pathetic service. Trains are literally always delayed/cancelled. Often miss important events due to delays. Even the employees admit that the management is abysmal. Simply waiting for Chris Grayling to finish his investigation and strip it of its franchise LNER-style.

Ridiculous.

Trains hardly on time and very often cancelled. Cancellations due to “awaiting a member of the crew “ (one of the most conmon reasons) are absolutely ridiculous after the money we pay, let alone I pay more when my train gets cancelled because I need to get a bus and I do not use a paper ticket ( I pay contactless credit card) which “will be accepted on alternative means due to the inconvenience “, nor they worry about compensating that bus ride automatically due to their disservice.
And of course fares will raise by THREE PERCENT comes the new year.
Shocking!

Utter disgrace of an operation

Utter disgrace of an operation , delays , cancellations , broken down trains. Changing itineraries of trains last minute to avoid stops I.e. trains to Waterloo via Woking and Clapham junction . Shambolic..
