What truly awful customer service! I ordered three items. The order didn’t go through so I put it through again. Then I got an email confirming that the first order had gone through after all. I immediately phoned and cancelled it. I was told this was no problem. However, there is a pending charge for the full amount of my duplicated order on my credit card. Twice. This is on top of the actual payment which has gone through. So my accounts are showing 3 x payments to the company for one order. The first time I contacted customer services I was told this wasn’t possible and anyway that part of my order had been cancelled. When I went back to customer services and asked them to cancel the pending payments because my bank couldn’t, they refused. I also pointed out that the ‘cancelled’ item had been confirmed as sent and gave them their reference number. Today I’ve got another email, with no apology of any kind and a statement that the items could be slow to be delivered. Yep UP. That’s because you didn’t pay enough postage and now I’ve paid your postage charges directly and now have to pay Royal Mail the outstanding £2.50 to get the clothes. All this while I can’t access £180.95 x 2 so £361.90 on hold on my bank account as pending charges. Shockingly poor standard of customer service.

Edit: I reached the company the next day, and the dress was being shipped out by FEDEX from the factory in Germany. It was received today 6/15.
The workmanship and fabric were very nice and the photos represented the dress very well. With the exception of one frightful day of thinking I reached a scam company, ALL WENT WELL. Thank you.

Terrible customer service. Reps give misleading info concerning order status and return options. I do not intend to waste my time ordering from them ever again. Zero stars, would be a more fitting ranking; alas, there is not such option!

WHAT HAPPENED TO ULLA POPKEN? I have a closet full of fabulous cotton knit tunics from Popken in Germany. They're fabulous and I love wearing them for various occasions. BUT, Popken is not the same; the fabrics are cheap, thin and poorly made. In the past year, I have RETURNED every Popken order due to the cheap quality of the fabric. I keep trying, hoping that their clothes might, again, have the same, quality fabrics they used to have. But, once more, I'm returning my order of two cotton knit tunics; the fabric, again, is just terrible. Very sad to see a great company become a cheap imitation of its former self.

The blouse I received didn’t look anything like the picture. Linen?-NO, a cheesy rough t shirt material. Overpriced. Very Disappointed. Doubt I’ll purchase from this company again.
Update: I read customer service’s reply to my review….”I can of course return the item”. This is emblematic of why there is a fundamental and systemic problem with Ulla Popken.

First of all the clothes are exactly what I wanted and I can’t fault them, they are overpriced for what they are the quality is nice but not “that price” nice but I got them on sale and with some money off so I wasn’t too bothered.
Secondly the website needs fixing considering the prices being charged and what it’s supposed to be advertising it’s all a bit mixed up. I selected the category jackets and it just came up with t-shirts and button up shirts and the odd jacket in the mix.
I was a little sceptical at purchasing from them at first but I did anyway and I was annoyed with how long it was taking to arrive not knowing that It was being posted from Germany and I’m in the UK so it did arrive at a reasonable time.
I really do think they should make the quality more price worthy or take the prices down because they don’t match. I will be purchasing from them again but only when there’s a sale on I can deal with those prices.
The plus size stuff is good but I’d say small for the sizing. Size up! Over all I didn’t have a negative experience.
Customer service was ok but the whole process about getting a refund isn’t really fair on the customer ( I thought I wasn’t going to receive my items so i rang to enquire about a refund) if you don’t receive your items they won’t refund you until they receive them Back, if they get lost in the post they said you have to fill a form out before you can receive a refund which I’ve never had to do so that’s a bit weird.

This company does not know how to do business, I placed an order on the 21st and that order was not dispatched until from what they say the 26th. When I spoke to customer service I was told that it is because the order was sent but got lost.
However someone wrote to me and said the information I was given by their customer service person was not true. They said the order was not dispatched because one of the items was out of stock. Mind you I have not been informed of any of the items being out of stock until I called their customer service asking about my order.
The next thing they told me is that some of my order was sent to Royal Mail and got given a tracking number however after 5 days there was no movement in Royal Mail except that they have been informed that my parcel has been dispatched and they were expecting it.
I requested many times on our email conversation that I wanted a complaint opened but I was ignored until I explained to them how unprofessional they were. So I’m waiting to see if my complaint will be taken seriously as I was told that it was sent their head office.
The company is a joke better to order via Klana

I placed an order online. When I realized one of the dresses hadn't been accepted for some reason, called right away and asked them to add it to my order, so I don't have to pay an additional shipping fee. They claim the 3 dresses had already been shipped (how? 2 minutes ago?) and if I want the fourth dress, there will be another shipping fee. This company apparently doesn't appreciate a loyal customer, I've been buying from them for years. I am now seeking another company offering plus sizes - who appreciates loyalty and provides excellent customer service. American companies are much easier to resolve issues, this company just doesn't care, I guess they have too many customers. Well, they just lose this one.

An opaque returns policy, written in business jargon. The parcel itself had no return slip giving the address to return the garment and not on the website either. Designed to put people off returning items. I'm currently awaiting info from customer services. And to cap it all, you have to pay even though the clothes are very expensive.
I rang and spoke to Customer Services today Mon 27th. I have upgraded to a 3 because the person I spoke to in Customer Services was very clear and helpful, and immediately did what she said she would do, which was to email me a return slip. I still think though that they shouldn't be charging the customer for returns. No other online retailer I use does this, even the companies whose prices are much cheaper than Ulla Popken. Also the website has some very confusing jargon in the section marked 'Cancellation and Returns.

Super disappointed! I bought ski pants in the sale. Emailed them multiple times where my order is and just received a refund. No email explaining why my money was refunded and the pants are now double the price online ( they are still in stock). I would not trust this company. Recommend going elsewhere. Very disappointing

It's a shame I have to give it one star. The clothes are OK but not great. You can find some nice stuff and some classic tops. I made the mistake of buying some purple boots. One acknowledgement of the actual purchase but no despatch information, anywhere. Nothing on my account, no email. When they eventually arrived they were the wrong colour, quite hideous, kind of blue, green, beige mottled, ugh. I sent an email advising them and asking for a pre-paid label to return them. They then asked me to send photographs. Clearly they thought I was a liar and making up the fact that they aren't the colour of boots I paid for. They have not fulfilled their part of the contract and now they're calling me a liar. So, I will never buy from them again, truly a case of caveat emptor.

I ordered ski pants and was very happy when they arrived only 3 days after ordering them, and I'm in the US. They fit perfect, material feels good, and I can't wait to try them out! It's hard to find fashionable plus-sized clothing and the right fit but these pants checked those boxes for me.
I ordered tights, the multi pack, they were a great fit and very comfortable .
Never ever buy from this company. Return of £169 made in June was lost by them, and despite chasing, didn’t credit until November, five months later. Then failed to process the refund despite claiming they had done it. Only bank intervention resolved that issue. Customer service abysmal, especially from the German office who respond, or shall I say ignore, emails. And don’t get me going about the discourtesy of one of their customer service advisors, who cannot even address me by the correct title - seems to think I have had a sex change. Demonstrates total lack of consideration to the complaint. Oh and unlike most online retailers they don’t pay return postage - more galling when they deny receipt and blame delivery delays rather than their own incompetence.
An absolute shower, totally disinterested in their customers and best left well alone
I have been a fan of this company for many years having spent thousands of pounds on clothing. I ordered a top. It fit. I wore it. I washed it . It shrunk. Ulla popken will not refund as I have worn it!!. I really think I must be liaising with a school child. They do not seem to understand the law. I am disgusted and will not be buying ever again and will seek a refund through the small claim court. How pathetic a company.
This company offers a48hour Royal Mail tracked delivery . They say they dispatched the package over a week ago yet the Royal Mail tracking system says they are still waiting for the parcel to be sent to them so they can deliver. When I mailed the company they say it’s been dispatched! do not purchase from this company
I will never order from this company again. Bought a very cute shirt which was destroyed in washing. They refused to honor any kind of warranty even though it was obvious it was a quality issue. Very overpriced, poor quality, abysmal customer service. I will make sure that this issue is publicized as much as possible. We work hard for our money and I drive know about you but I can ill afford to literally throw it away. Bad on you.
Ordered a beautiful dress for my wedding back at the beginning of September, was told delivery would be in mid October. Never heard anything from them until today when I received an email saying it had been returned and was being refunded. No despatch or delivery emails at all. Emailed their customer service to ask why to be told it could not be delivered! Please don't waste your time or money on this dreadful company! Wish I had read the reviews before ordering!
