Inconvenient and unreliable

Phone calls continually drop, poor and bureaucratic customer service that has taken up so much of my time and the problems still aren't resolved, online customer portal access doesn't work well.

A complacent, cheating bunch of @$$holes with an attitude problem

I signed up to UPC 8 years sgo when I arrived in Switzerland; things have gone WAY downhill since then. The service is poor (the uplink frequently fails), they are overpriced, and they even cheat you on the bills!

Starting this year, they've been charging me in completely random intervals (e.g. once at the end of one month, twice at the beginning of the next), presumably in the anticipation that you lose track of your payments and get overcharged!

But what takes the cake is the sheer arrogance of the hotline staff (assuming you accomplish the incredible feat of getting through in the first place), and the complete lack of customer awareness. It's clear that UPC isn't even remotely interested in keeping its customers (at least the private ones). Infact, they actually ENCOURAGE you to terminate your contract on the spot!!! I've never experienced this level of impertinence. Terminating your contract is in itself a bizarre procedure: instead of doing so in writing, you have to CALL and PLEAD with them to let you go -- again, assuming you get through!

Of course they know they can get away with this attitude since there's hardly any competition in Switzerland. I will be quitting my contract next year when I leave the country, and look forward to getting these leeches out of my life!

Wait Wait and wait again

As long as you don't have a problem everything is fine. That should already tell you everything.

A call to the hotline will end in an odyssey. I called twice in the last month and both times I had to wait more than 30min for them to take up my call and I was on hold again for another 20-30 minutes during the problem-solving process.

If I would start to charge them the time it costs to tell them what they messed up, I wouldn't have to pay for my internet anymore.

UPC is a disaster and a source of headaches and stress. Initially I had a mobile subscription account and was setup fine with MyUPC. Until one day a sales representative called with an internet subscription offer and I agreed. Then UPC opened a NEW customer account for the new Internet product instead of using the EXISTING one. Since I had no access to the new account, I called to have the accounts merged to the existing old one. UPC did the opposite and closed my existing account. One month and six phone calls later the issue is still not resolved. The existing account is still closed. I have spent literally 3 hours of my time overall calling, waiting on hold and logging into MyUPC. Twice when I select English speaking I got customer service people that didn’t speak English. Twice I was promised a follow up call but that never happened. This morning I waited on hold for 22 minutes before I gave up. I honestly don’t know what to do, but now I would like to cancel both my mobile phone subscription and the new Internet subscription and find a more reliable company that offers good service and solutions to its customers.

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company. Cash grab and nothing else. Typical company which hires maybe 1% of the necessary administration stuff. Result: 2 hours in the phone line to cancel a product. I would prefer paying the double with a competitor. DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY.

AWAY from UPC

I bought a new mobile phone which requires a nano SIM card. I called today, 20th of Sept. 21, UPC and asked them to send me one. The employee insisted that I have to cut the card according to the size of the new phone despite all my efforts to explain that this will damage the card but he kept insisting, so I did it and what happened, the card was damage. I called them again, they apologized and told me that within 3 days I'll receive a new card!!! they use to be provider for Internet, TV for home and I changed, and I'll now change to another mobile net provider.

Authorities should close this company, it's fraud

I have no idea how this company is legally allowed to function. I signed the contract. Two months later I have yet to receive a router for mobile. I tried to cancel the contract (since technically I am not receiving the service I am paying for), but I have only been kept on the line, mislead, and lied to. I do not understand how there is no one investigating them for clearly fraudulent practices.

Possibly the most annoying company

Possibly the most annoying and scammy company I've ever interacted with.

They couldn't fix the broken internet speed, after intensive complaining and running their official speed test utility they would "do something on their end", after which the speed would actually improve for a few days, then revert back to maybe 10% of what I've been paying for. I've been trying to get out of their contract for months, the call center was lying to me about calling me back in a few days to confirm my cancellation. At the end I had to pay a few hundred CHF for the service to roll off.

Avoid if you can.

UPC is a desaster

The customer service is a desaster, they lie and don't fix anything when you have a problem so you end up paying much more than expected. I cancelled my internet subscription but wanted to keep my mobile subscription, they lied many times and assured me nothing would change while in fact I received a very high bill because there was effectively a change in the contract. They didn't accept any responsibility and told me they would make a very small discount, which in fact they never did!!!! Now I have to pay 80.- instead of 40.- until I can finally quit.
Another time my internet didn't work and I had to wait twice 2 hours for them to answer the phone, finally they just made me wait some more and cutted the line. So I spend 2weeks without internet and with no answer wahtsoever. And I could go on and on

Avoid UPC - Terrible Customer Service

You get the SMS alert, you're nearing your 10GB traveling limit, so you buy 10CHFs worth of data packages. Then the bill comes - 137CHFs extra roaming charges.
UPC has the worst most aggressive customer service I've ever encountered. Please - save your time, save your money and look elsewhere. Just because you think it's cheap, does not mean it's cheap.
Terrible terrible terrible - I can't wait to cancel all my 4 x family contracts / internet and TV with them - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company. Their technical customer support is an absolute disaster and horror that cannot help customers. Nobody cares about the customer inquiry and I think the department is just a burden and a waste of money for the company.
I was a customer for more than 10 years since last year customer support changed completely. Now I discovered that my contract ended at the end of July 2021 and wanted to cancel my contract. Then they offered me a reduced market price if I sign a new contract for TV and Internet. Their technical customer support is an absolute disaster and horror which is not there to help customers. The customer support is the worst I have ever seen anywhere in the world. If you contact the customer support one can stay in the line for eternity until you get connected to someone. Be aware to stay away from this company. They changed even the way to cancel the contract. It’s a great surprise that, they won’t accept written cancellation anymore. You can only call them or chat and every time the same answer. We have some problem now regarding the new connection as well as the landline telephony. They have promised me to send a technician to my home and assured me that I will be contacted by their technician very soon which is until now after 10 days never happened. BETTER STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY WHICH IS AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER.

I pay 109 CHF / Month for 1 Gbit of…

I pay 109 CHF / Month for 1 Gbit of download speed. I get around 300 Mbit and the customer care dose not help at all. It's just: "we will send you a new router, bla bla bla" like that changes anything. They did send me like 3 routers now, not fixing the problem for more than 2-3 Weeks. It's like they boost your internet that you stop calling and then slow it down again.

Stay away

Stay away after 10 years as a customer pretty satisfied now they changed everything.
I was a customer for more than 10 years since last year's support customer changed completely. Now I discovered that my contract ended at the end of June 2021 has 2 months of cancellation anyway at full price and not like the contract I have signed. The offer was to have a reduced price only if I was signing a new contract for TV and Internet. Contacted I don't know how many times before and never received any back call or email. Be aware to stay away from this company. They changed even the way to cancel the contract you can only call them or chat and every time the same answer. We have some problem now from the department in charge you will be contacted... never happened. About mobile contract already changed more than one year ago for a similar problem.

Router is bad: WiFi is trash, all my devices randomly lose connection due to instability of service, signal in a small apartment is bad, poor service, need to restart my router often. Avoid.

Extremely incompetent

Extremely incompetent, bad is an euphemism!
Their admin billing system is a continuous disaster! They have left me twice with no internet and no phone connections due to UPC errors. I had average of 1/month contact to correct and rectify their mistakes!
Pay more with other companies, but do not sign any contract with them! Authorized SCAMS - really a bad image side of Switzerland!

UPC business is a disaster...

If you think a business subscription of UPC would ensure a great service then you think completely wrong. A case where a company is without internet for 4 days and ongoing, classical excuse its being worked on comes once a day, as it happena one of the days this week was a public holiday. So UPC sends all second level technicians and gives them a day off. How awesome is that? If you land with 1st level they have no clue whats being worked on, if you try your account manager he is not available the whole week his phone rings but he is not picking up. We are now on Friday afternoon already and no hope the problem will be resolves before weekend. This company works Saturdays and Sundays...good luck to anyone signing up with UPC or Sunrise. We will cancel as soon as possible for sure.
