XS Direct Car Insurance UK 

Think before you take out insurance with this company if you cancel policy they will make you pay for all year policy plus cancellation fee. even though you have only used for few months, that is unacceptable. I rather pay some extra to any other big company to take out policy.

High excess and no added extras
Also very lengthy and elongated payment process.

I had to take my own time and and contact other insurance companies to sort my claim out. It dragged on for months even though it should have been clear. I was misinformed many times on what was happening and not allowed my car back after the accident and had to be scrapped for much less than it was worth. Payout was much under market value also and still get calls months later that I owe money although I have emails stating I don’t and should receive money back. Had the insurance also cancelled and no one knew why... got an apology over the phone once, but many times after the company refused to accept that it was their fault and blamed me many times.

Disgusting, find any way not to pay out then refuse asking for 3k excess

Had a accident which wasn’t my fault and they took my car when the damages wasn’t even bad

Totally rubbish insurance company do not take out insurance with them go with a bigger name and pay more and avoid these people

A load of crap. Had a accident they want so many documents and the excess is ridiculous. Then they get some random investigator to tell the story to again when they already have the events. A joke of a company god knows how they still operate

Stay away from this company at all costs unless you want to be bankcrupt. They will cancel your policy after the 14 days for what ever reason they want to. They will make you pay the remaining £4K premium for the remaining 11months.
Trust me when I say, this company will sting you harder than an Australian wasp.

Awful company, i would not use again. I would have put zero stars but there isnt an option for that.

Be careful this company .I got accident on January 2016 and didnt reveive any email from XS direct saying whose liability it is . After more than 5 years they sent me email saying they pay third party repairing cost ￡4700 and i have to pay excess fee ￡3000, i request official breakdown for repairing but no reply. After one week, i reveived a letter from debt collection company saying i have to pay outstanding. This company is just a scam , they cant supply official document and try to steal people money !keep away.

found the company to be helpful, with nice staff, we had no problems when having to make a claim, we are insured via BeWiser, so a good tip, gone direct to XS and could have saved a pile of money! (as we have found)

A lot of negative reviews Regarding excess , however It clearly states in there name what they are, if you don’t have a claim and drive safely then you’ll be ok with these, I unfortunately did have a claim 😬😬 and during these Covid times they have been fantastic, To be honest I struggled With paying my excess aswell as my insurance, if you talk to these they do understand your circumstances and will work with you to help,, thankyou 😁

NOT RECOMMENDED! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I would rather drive uninsured and take my chances than to go with these guys. The worst service possible no matter how much you pay them each month.

First of all, I was covered for the most basic of packages and lumped with a £3000 excess charge… what is that even about? Why am I paying over £150 a month and given no perks or anything to help me?

I started a claim and within a day I cancelled it due to my high excess. I called and messaged the engineer to cancel as well as the insurers and they still want to charge me £95. WHY AM I PAYING INSURANCE???? A private garage came out to take my car away AND had a look at it for less than £40 to tell me the damages. (Wasn’t my fault, slid on black ice. Back left wheel rod damaged).

These guys have fully stressed me out and do not show any care whatsoever to their customers. I am very surprised they are still managing to acquire more customers.

Once my NCB (No Claims Bonus) was sent to me it said “NILL” so I had to contact them to change this. The lady on the phone pulled up my profile and saw I cancelled my claim immediately and said the right document with be emailed back to me within the next few days.

Here I am 2 weeks later writing a bad review because I called to see the progress and they hit me with the £95 charge saying I have to pay otherwise I don’t get my one years NCB. What kind a nonsense is that?! How many people have they bribed in to paying that £95. How much money have these guys been paid through extortionate excess and premiums?

Even writing this review has my blood boiling and it’s worse because I can almost guarantee nothin will come of this.

I have seen that XS reply to reviews asking individuals to email the complaints team but I have already done that and I have spoken on the phone multiple times.

Rant over. Now with Direct Line which gave me full cover and all the perks AND more! Over £60 cheaper a month too. So glad.
