I paid for a group lunch and asked the others (6 friends) to Zelle me their share. My bank (Capital One) put a hold on the second payment and later locked my entire account. It took me 7 phone calls... See more

It was not just this time
It was not just this time. Every time I tried to use the program, it put a hold on my use of it and had me call my bank, which had to confirm again that I was who I said I was and that I personally knew the people. For this privilege, I had to wait on the phone for 10 to 20 minutes each time.
NO customer service. Long hold time.
Zelle has been more than just convenient in my life. But when it comes to customer service don't waste your time. All they will do is take all of your personal information and then refuse to help you. I had$1200 scanned out of my account via Zelle and no one will help.
I had zelle linked to my bank
I had zelle linked to my bank. Then zelle changed their app and my bank isn't listed. They have my money and no way to contact them. Thieves.
Zelle transactions could LOCK your bank account
Zelle's idea is great, because there's no digital wallet involved in the middle as with Venmo and Paypal, BUT Zelle's security procedures could result in LOCKED bank accounts.
I organized and paid for a camping trip with a few friends and asked them to pay me their share using Zelle. After a couple of transactions, Zelle notified my bank that these transactions could be fraudulent. My bank LOCKED my account instead of putting a hold on just the Zelle transactions!!! As a result, some of my auto-pay transactions did not go through. It took me 8 phone calls with the bank to set the whole thing right. Yes, scams are prevalent but, having gone through a couple of security startups, I know Zelle would be better off dealing with scams by alerting the sender's side first and if the sender has not initiated the transaction, then notify the receiver's bank.
CONSTANTLY DOESN'T SEND MONEY INSTANTLY…
CONSTANTLY DOESN'T SEND MONEY INSTANTLY FOR NO REASON GIVEN. IT DOES WHAT I FEELS LIKE. I SEND TO THE SAME PERSON 2 TIMES PER WEEK AND SOMETIMES HE GETS IT AND SOMETIMES THEY HOLD IT FOR 3 OR 4 DAYS. NO EXPLANATION.. JUST ANOTHER GREEDY TRASHY COMPANY RAN BY GREED. TRASH HUMANS BUILD TRASH BUSINESSES..
Zero stars
Not a convenient service to use for transactions & terrible customer service to try to fix anything.
A homing pigeon with no idea where it was going would have been more reliable.
Tried to send $20 to a friend who was waiting for his first paycheck from his new employer and had no food. Both of us were enrolled with zelle prior to the transaction. It's been 3 days. The money has been pulled from my account, but he still hasn't received it.
Where did my money go, zelle? If it's been pulled from my account and is not in his account, that means it's tied up in your systems somewhere. Where is it? I feel like it would have been better to tape the $20 to a homing pigeons leg and send it away, hoping it knew where to go.
I sent money to my friend to help with…
I sent money to my friend to help with medication, and it went to the wrong individual.. I immediately called Zelle customer service, and they told me that there’s nothing they can do to help. I am so upset, if this was PayPal they would investigate and get your funds back. Why is Zelle not trying to update their system to be more helpful to customers.. I am guessing that they don’t give a damn..
Don’t trust ZELLE. Terrible customer service
My account (number) was restricted, saying only that I violated the terms and conditions without explaining exactly which ones. I created an account with another bank using my email address, and they blocked it too. Then I opened an account with a different bank, used Zelle twice for small amounts, and they blocked it as well. I called Zelle customer service because the banks won’t give me a specific reason why I keep getting blocked. The agent, DIANA, who apparently is the only one working on Zelle’s Spanish phone line, is very unprofessional and rude. She gives attitude, insists they can’t do anything, and refuses to transfer me to a supervisor or give me another zelle phone number. This time, she even said she wasn’t going to argue with me, so she was ending the call—and then she just hung up.
Zelle works great when it goes right
Zelle works great when it goes right. If it doesn't go right, no one at Zelle support can help. So, monies can be hanging out there in limbo for 3-5 business days. No recourse.

I currently receive zelle payments from tenants, and yet I am not able to collect a payment from a thrid party and I can not figure out why. And there is no help from Zelle.
I would give zero stars if that was an option!
ZELLE HAS LET ME DOWN!
I HAVE BEEN SITTING IN A 90 DEGREE HOUSE FOR 3 DAYS WAITING FOR A TRANSFER THAT WAS PROMISED TO HIT MY ACCOUNT TODAY SO I CAN REPAIR MY AIR CONDITIONER!!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your money will never be seen again
Zelle is a total scam and i'm honestly convinced it's a giant online fraud that has yet to be caught. I made a payment to someone and even though they removed the money from my account days ago the person has not received the money in their account. Not only that but customer support is nearly non existent and they refuse to help you in any way. Me and thousands of others have this same exact experience. It's not just a tech issue or a bug it's a setup scam app. The fact that they have Zelle set up through banking apps with this many problems is absurd. All of these money sending apps are bogus. The highest rated one is probably Cashapp but then again not a ton of people use it. Your best option is to stick to using a debit card and if you need to pay for something just use that or cash. I'm beyond angry that this app hasn't gotten shut down yet.
Zelle ask me why im sending someone…

Am very disappointed that I can’t send one dollar, this was never the case, and now this sucks thanks
Banks should be ashamed for working with this horrible paying network!
It’s embarrassing that a lot of bank companies use Zelle as a main way to transfer money. Honestly, I would’ve preferred if they partnered up with Venmo, but they proceeded to partner up with Zelle, which is one of the most useless paying apps in the world. Scammers run rampant on Zelle and the customer service is slow acting and very irresponsible. It’s common for payments to randomly be blocked or disappear in between the transaction. If you were late on accepting a payment, you have to ask that other person to maybe cancel the payment because when you go onto your bank account, or at least at my bank, you can only request money or send money, not see what money is currently pending. Sometimes the link doesn’t even properly work so you can’t even get the money that the other person sent you. If you don’t have an account linked to your phone number or email and experience even a little issue you’re never gonna see that money. My account is linked, but I still have run into so many issues similar to this that it’s ridiculous. Honestly, I would’ve preferred if my bank never even heard of the word, Zelle. Waste of time, waste of resources, and ironically enough waste of money.
Zero Status Provided When a Transaction Fails
I tried setting up this payment method for myself, in order to move funds between two accounts I have at different financial institutions. Once it was set up, I send a few dollars from one to the other to see how it worked. It took 3 business days to get the few dollars moved over. But at least the money did move over. Then I tried to move several thousand dollars and nothing. Another 3 day went by and nothing. No notification either as to status. I checked my account online and saw it said transfer failed. I called Zelle and asked why I did not get any notification since I needed the funds moved quickly. They said I now had to verify who I was, and I would have to go through some convoluted taking pictures of my ID and whatever else. Forget that. But what really irked me was they made no effort to even contact me that there was a rejection of the transaction.
Zelle is fraudulent - run away
Zelle is claiming an account is not enrolled that is enrolled and is holding a pending payment in limbo. You cannot get a human on customer support line or get any assistance. This entire setup seems fraudulent. I'm going to complain to my bank and ask them to discontinue zelle support. What a nightmare.
Zelle SUCKS
Zelle SUCKS. VENMO is infinitely better. Even with a solid payment history with Recipients, Zelle randomly decided to limit the amount of my transactions with those 2 recipients. Add to this, you canNOT reach a human....probably because they know how angry users of Zelle get when getting unfairly limited in issuing payments. I repeat:: Zelle SUCKS!

NOT SURPRISED TO SEE THIS SERVICE HAS A 1 STAR REVIEW!
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Someone sends you $ & if you're not enrolled w zelle already welp you are out of luck!?
What??? Why? They are not accepting any more people. And to make matters worse I can't just cancel the payment and send the money back to the person who sent it because I can't cash it so let me return it to them which makes the most sense no it's got it time out after 14 days so they basically hold the person's money for 2 weeks until it cancels itself out how flipping rude and dumb and just inconvenient zelle can go to hell heaven isn't accepting bloodsucking corporate greed at it's worst. Gluttony isn't good enough.
