Great app with budgeting

Updated** 7/16/26... I contacted After pay and nothing was rectified. Their practice continues. Their response was generic. The rating remains. This practice is unfair and unjust. I rated 1. I made an order and had to cancel immediately. They received the confirmation from the seller of the cancellation and issued only a portion of the down payment. With the confirmation they will only refund the balance of my down payment in August. This is crazy. When I make the down payment I can't pay a portion. This is not a practice or company I want to do business with. We live in times that are hard for some. If I needed my money, this could put me in a bind. I will not do anymore business with them when all monies are refunded.

It really helps me get things my family needs

I really love the help buying items I really need and want but can’t really afford the full price hit to my income at one checkout moment. The biweekly pay schedule is great. I just forget to turn off the autopay and get dinged because I have several accounts that I juggle and frankly I need the control to pay when I’m ready on the payment date not a random draw from the autopay system. Like today - I have the money to pay but the autopay tried before I could make a deposit into my account. The penalty really is severe when this happens - even when I get the payment in on the due date. Other than the autopay nuisance I love your company a lot!

A customer opened a dispute claiming their order was "lost," despite having tracking information from the day it was shipped. The parcel was successfully delivered, and the customer later confirmed they had received it and were happy to close the dispute that day.

Unfortunately, we never saw Afterpay's dispute notification because it was sent to an old email address that was no longer being available. By the time we gained access to that email address, the response deadline had already passed.

Despite the customer having received the product, Afterpay refunded them the full $820, leaving us without either the payment or the product. We contacted Afterpay to explain the situation and provide evidence that the order had been delivered, but they wont provide any tangible help.

This process feels heavily weighted against merchants and leaves businesses vulnerable to significant losses, especially when dealing with higher ticket items which rely on Afterpay payments.

Merchant be extremely careful.

Earlier today, I was told something different. One of your team members, Warren, emailed me advising that it would be my responsibility to contact the customer directly and recover the funds myself.

I don't believe this is a reasonable solution. The customer now has both our product and the refunded payment.

We're simply asking for your assistance in resolving what is clearly a mistake. The customer has confirmed they received the item, and there is no dispute that the order was successfully delivered.

I would appreciate it if you could clarify Afterpay's position and let me know what steps can be taken to help us recover the funds as we feel both Afterpay and the customer has stolen both money, services and time from us in an order that was always on the way to the customer.

What can be done here besides contact your support which keeps refusing to help us retrieve our funds?

You guys help out a lot when somebody like me needs some time to pay things off and thank you guys !

I really like Afterpay, and it has helped me a great deal. However, one major disadvantage is that you don’t offer the same flexibility for online payments that Zip Pay and Sezzle do.

Many of the merchants I shop with don’t accept Afterpay. When I try entering a merchant on your site, I’m often redirected to purchase products that Afterpay has selected rather than simply being able to use Afterpay to pay the merchant directly. That isn’t always what I’m looking for.

Because of that, I rarely use Afterpay and instead rely on my other payment options. I’ll continue to use Afterpay when it’s accepted, but that’s not very often.

If you really want to improve the customer experience, give consumers more flexibility by allowing us to use Afterpay for online purchases at a wider range of merchants, similar to the options offered by Zip Pay and Sezzle. Having that freedom would make Afterpay much more useful and competitive.

i love that there is no interest on 4 payment plans, i now have an option for no down payment and monthly payments with a very small interest

Easy to buy things I can’t afford to pay for upfront. Afterpay makes it easy & affordable to get the things I need.

Afterpay is the best app! It's incredibly simple to use and has almost anything you could think of that you want or need. Its such an affordable way to pay for gift cards or shopping. I have been a customer for years and plan on continuing to use them. The payments are split into 4 and are affordable.
