Very impressed with helpful advice.

Have not yet made a purchase however after speaking to the Boundary team and comparing system & pricing to other alarm companies I will probably order a new system from Boundary in the near future.

great alarm just needs a little more work

At first when I got the alarm I had a lot of problems, don’t act well with dogs kept triggering so had to swap for a door sensor but was given one as a replacement, can’t fault the customer service always fast to reply but can be a little annoying just emailing all the time and also some of the sensors go off line a lot and this is why I have given 4 stars and not 5 because of them two things

Issues resolved with fantastic customer service!

Had some issues setting up my alarm as it kept saying something was tampered with. It took a few days to sort out but we are now all up and running and the customer service was fantastic. Quick replies to emails and really friendly service.

Had a problem with the outdoor siren…

Had a problem with the outdoor siren loosing connection to the hub. Contacted the help desk and the problem was resolved in a speedy and efficient manner, great service.

Boundary Alarm System A**

As a techie Geek I saw this product online and immediately needed this. The whole ordering and delivery was smooth, fast and no missing items.
Setup of the Hub was easy and the addition of the sensors the same.
I chose to install the sensors using the accompanying adhesive stickers (after having removed my older PIR's that were screwed in I didn't want the mess) time will tell if I will need to use the screw fixings.
The Hub was mounted with the screws, I did modify the rear and had the Power cable feed back through the wall into a socket point in the Garage on the other side for neatness and my OCD.
Addition of Family members is easy and they get to choose their own PIN for Access and the GEO Location Services to Arm and Disarm is a welcome feature.
I have chosen the Smart Plan that seems a reasonable monthly cost.
Overall initial impressions are good and time will tell how much battery life each device utilises. would definitely recommend.

Great customer service!

I have been looking at smart alarms and have asked questions of a number of vendors.
Boundary were very fast and efficient.
I will soon be a one of their customers!
Ps, please add an outdoors door sensor to the range 😊

Intuitive do it yourself system. Good value for the money.

The Boundary system is really easy to instal as long as you take the time to do everything correct and in the right order. It is really intuitive and easy to operate. For what it does, I believe it is excellent value and one of the best things is, that you can easily adapt the system to fit in with what you need it to do, it even has a pet setting so you can alarm the house with a pet in it and it won’t set off the sensors. I would highly recommend this do it yourself alarm system.

Sadly a bad experience

Previously I had a monitored, wired alarm system with police response which had been professionally installed. I had found however that the that technology was dated, having to call the (often unhelpful) alarm company regularly to deal with issues, I was excited to learn about Boundary and move to a system more suited to 2021!

At the time I was shopping around, I found the comparison articles that Boundary offer to be really helpful and informative (but with hindsight perhaps a bit misleading, see below). I placed my order with Boundary in October last year. I must admit I felt glad to be finally getting away from the old troublesome alarm and was looking forward to having Boundary.

When I ordered, I opted for the professional install service. Like my old alarm, I also opted for monitoring with police response (in the event of an alarm), (a like for like service was important as it was a condition of our home insurance policy that this type of alarm was in place).

I was aware Boundary are a new company when I ordered and so was happy to extend some leeway when I received news that my order had been delayed. This happened a few times.

The kit eventually arrived in the Spring of 2021, though sadly Boundary had advised that at that time they were not yet able to offer the professional installation I’d ordered. Partly owing to this, it also meant that initially, I wouldn’t have the monitoring with the police response too.

Again, I knew Boundary are new to the market, but I believed in the brand and concept and so accepted that I’d need to install myself I wanted the alarm then (which I did as by this point Boundary were late and I’d already ditched the old alarm). In fairness to Boundary, they refunded the installation cost and their instructions are very good.

Sadly though install was fair from simple. I did encounter multiple problems specifically with the hub and trying to pair sensors.

Like other reviews have mentioned, Boundary’s support is very good. Phil and Leslie often responded out of hours and at weekends, but sadly they weren’t able to make up for the fact that these issues were happening and further delaying the provision of the new alarm. Since they only offer support via email (no chat or telephone service) it meant lots and lots of emails going back and forth.

After many many weeks (mainly due to my own shortage of time), we reached a stage where I thought we were almost finished with the installation of the system. Bear in mind by this time I’d put sensors up, taken them down countless times and even had to send one back to Boundary and wait for a replacement; I can honestly say I was pretty exasperated! Then came the news that I’d need to factory reset the entire system due to a fault. And to be clear, that wasn’t just one button, that was a full reset of each and every sensor. (We had a dozen or more across three levels of our house).

To add salt to the wound, once I started encountering issues during the install, I often asked Boundary whether I could just take advantage of the professional install service (considering I’d been told this was “coming soon”). Even at the time of writing this review, 9 months after ordering, that service still isn’t available. This is perhaps my biggest grievance with Boundary, the fact that they sold a product and service and have even written comparison articles on the basis that their product can (and in my case would) be professionally installed and yet after all this time, it’s still not a service they offer.

Because of that, they are also unable to offer monitoring with police response (this requires a professional installation) and it’s this that in my opinion enables Boundary to complete with the more established alarm companies. After all, in my experience, home insurers ask whether a professionally installed and monitored alarm system is in place and only if so do we see a difference in premiums.

I have now reached a point where I can’t waste any more time trying to install this product. Their support is good so far as they’re excellent communicators, but I have lost faith in the promises they’ve made regarding when professional install and police response will be available. Ultimately, I had a bad experience when trying to install the product.

I think that for someone requiring a reasonably small number of sensors and a fairly simple alarm system, Boundary might be a great product. But for any one with slightly more complex requirements (E.G a bigger property) or who is short on time then Boundary isn’t the answer just yet.

Despite my experience, I do wish them the best of luck in the future and do still think it’s a brilliant concept which I’m sad I can’t be a part of just now.

The installation aside, the issues you found with pairing and the forced reset are not common and are an area we are throwing considerable resource behind to improve. We will nail down why your experience was so poor, work with our suppliers to improve the process and ultimately ensure that your experience is not repeated.

Regarding the installation service delay, this is a service we have begun to roll out this month but admittedly will take time to cover nationwide.

It's easy to blame the impact of Covid and lockdowns but unfortunately it has had a considerable impact on our business like many others. There is light at the end of what at times seemed an endless tunnel though. I'm just sorry we couldn't meet your requirements in a timely fashion.

One again we genuinely do appreciate the feedback and your time, companies can often learn more from bad experiences than good and we will definitely put your feedback to task and improve for the future.

Boundary Alarm

Purchased this alarm from Kickstarter so received a good discount, it’s stylish very easy to set up
Had one little problem as I had fitted sensor to garage door but it was out of range, So Phil from support sent out a range extender everything works as it should.
As it has just come onto the market a few months ago I’m looking forward to future developments of this great system.

Highly recommended

I bought a Boundary alarm system after I bought a house with an ADT alarm fitted, which would have cost me over £30 a month to keep. I was almost tempted until I realised that a burglar could disable the entire system by snipping my phone line, and ADT wanted to charge me over £1,000 to upgrade to a cellular backup!
The Boundary system cost a fraction of that. I installed it all myself in about an hour. I've had a couple of technical issues in the first few months which is unsurprising as it's a new product, but customer support is fantastic and everything has been solved quickly.
If you're still paying ADT or somebody similar £30 a month for outdated hardware, ditch it now!

Excellent product and support

I was impressed at the simplicity of the install of this alarm, with 'stick and go' sensors that were very easy to add to the home system. I've had a couple of small issues that have been sorted extremely quickly by the support team and were followed up on to check all is as it should be – that's not something you get from many technology companies these days, it seems! Slick product design too.

Excellent security system with…

Excellent security system with brilliant support. Really well designed app & hardware, I installed this myself and was very easy to configure. Many features that make life easier such as visible countdown on arm/ disarm, geofencing notifications, IFTTT integrations, temperature readings for each sensor and external siren. Also support is brilliant - highly recommended.

I'm basing this review on the basis that any and all questions I had regarding the supply and purchase of Boundary alarm products were answered in a timely and professional manner. Excellent customer service seems to be a cornerstone of this company's policy.
My only regret is they currently do not have an EU office for the distribution of their outstanding alarm products.

All good so far

I haven’t tested the product as it hasn’t been released yet, but received great customer support while I’ve been asking lots of questions. On this front the company have their act together. According to the answers I received this system will have far superior wireless security to a lot of the other cheaper wireless systems out there. Integration with the smart home is what sets this system apart from some of the tried and tested, but older systems, which can’t be DIY installed without some skill.
