Here we go
Here we go. On August 25th 2017 I decided to leave Daligas as I was moving home. I provided meter readings and photos as proof. I know that they encourage higher debits in order to create a surplus of credit in account balances (which you cannot view or determine on their website, and customer service make this request very hard).
So I call again on 7th September and was informed that the closing bill will be sent out soon.
Called again today (9th October). Asked for the balance and any payment due to me. Told it can take up to 6 weeks from closing the account, then realised this had already passed before saying that my bill will be 'prioritised'. Basically customers find it impossible to know how much of their money the company is sitting on and will delay paying out.
Let's see how long this takes. I'm up for the fight and will start charging interest.
Utility companies earn millions on the back of cash surpluses. Any company that doesn't allow you to see the overall account balance is well worth avoiding.
Dodgy Daligas
Been with Daligas 4 years. Up until this year fine. However, last year only 2 months after renewal they increase the bill by 40% the month after Christmas due to the majority of customers wanting an increase to avoid a large end of year bill due to increased gas use in winter. Well fancy that, using more gas in winter. But shock horror I use less in the summer hence the annual estimated use. So despite increasing the cost they didn't increase the estimated gas use, in other words a poor excuse to improve cash flow and rip customers off. The ombudsman is as much use as a Daligas estimate, they can't intervene in commercial practice. So if you want to avoid a company that will lie - claim that weather is bad despite having one of the warmest winters on record, claim the majority of customers want to increase their bill by 40%, then don't use them.
Cheap and cheerful
Good clear pricing, even their standard rate is far cheaper than anything else I have found. Been with them 3 yrs now and no issues. There was a confusion when we went from their old tariff to new but I was able to call them and get straight through to someone who got it sorted for us on the day. We have had credit on the account which was swiftly at automatically paid at the tariff end date - unlike with EDF when we had credit and it was like getting blood from a stone! It is no frills but that s what I like, you are not paying for whizzy websites etc.
I am surprised at so many poor reviews
I am surprised at so many poor reviews. Daligas has pretty basic systems and sometimes the staff are rather abrupt, but I keep accurate records of my meter readings and payments, so I always know where I am in. Bigger suppliers would do that for you but I'm happy to do it as it means Daligas can offer lower prices. I did not like their seasonally adjusted billing introduced last year, as I like a fixed monthly payment, but it's time for me to check alternative suppliers to make sure that I should stay with Daligas for another year, and they now seem to offer season billing or fixed billing so that is a good thing for me. They have also added exit fees which I don't like though! I think I've been with them since 2014 and I've not had any real problems - and if I have over or under paid each year, the refund/payment is promptly made. It is worth keeping an eye out during the year to see if the rates have dropped as they don't tell you if you aren't on the best deal and it might be financially beneficial to change (assuming the saving isn't cancelled by an exit fee).

Very smooth initial transfer with no problems at all
Just hope that their prices are competitive for the forthcoming year
Oh my gosh
Oh my gosh, I love daligas. I haven't had a problem with them EVER. Once my DD was high and I sent them reading on EMAIL without even picking up the phone. My DD was adjusted accordingly. Very prompt with customer services. I know if I follow their joining instructions you will have no problems. Rates are very good. And third year contract rolling. 😁😄I hope they stay like this forever.
British gas was charging me through the roof whereas daligas prices and tariffs I think it's a miracle they offer such good service. Thank you daligas. I read other reviews stating they don't know debits and credits, that's not quite right. In my case I get an automated email each month once DD has been paid and always get a bill on email which I think happens on a quarterly basis. I can't believe some of the bad reviews on here! It was not my experience.

Been Daligas for 2 years and not had any problems that they didn't sort out. The Cheapest for gas that I could find if the price for the next year is the cheapest I will be quiet happy to stay with them.
Daligas Rip Off
After 2 very content years with Daligas I decided to move to Entice Energy (awesome service by the way) as they were much cheaper. This is when the problems started.
Between ending with Daligas and the start reading with Entice, I used just 1 unit. This new SAR reading was agreed by Daligas, the regulator & Entice Energy.
Daligas had estimated my final yearly bill, so I was actually 3 units in credit. So I should get a very small refund but no, over 2 months later Daligas send me a final bill of over £21. To cap it all it was an estimated reading and way too high. Not only had I already made 3 payments to Entice but Daligas now wanted me to pay them as well and for gas I hadn't even used!
I emailed them yet was was met with insistence that they hadn't had a new start up reading. Entice Energy contacted them, Daligas then agreed that they had indeed received the reading and would re-bill me (remember I am in credit). Two days later they send me another estimate via email and ask me to photograph my meter!!!
I telephoned them and they couldn't get rid of me quick enough but promised to send another final bill.
I was really happy with Daligas while I was with them but to try and rip me off like this after I move to a competitor is disgusting. If I were a worried OAP I probably would have paid the £21 out of fright.
I would suggest that people are made aware of their lack of basic customer support and competence & I would advise you all to look elsewhere.
I will update if I get a successful outcome but I fear I will be contacting the regulator about their conduct.
It would be good to be able to see credit/debit balance
I didn't have any major issues with them, but they decided to increase prices way too much so I left. As others have mentioned, monthly bills are nothing than a direct debit receipt, so you don't really know how much you/they owe. Website could be better.
What Planet are they on??
I have to say my dealings with this Company were fine unti I received an email from them in January 2017 upping my monthly Direct Debit by 40 odd % their reason being "As we experience a long and cold winter, your Direct Debit schedule has been re-adjusted".
Maybe in Siberia (is that where their office is??) but certainly not in U.K. according to Met. Office Data, and also judging by my gas consumption throughout that period.
No doubt many other customer received a similar email and I believe the real reason was to substantially enhance cash flow through Jan/March for some reason. It may, of course just have been to ensure enough cash was available for Directors bonuses!! but it also brought to mind the recent demise of another small energy supplier hence I considered it prudent to "bale- out" which I consequently did.
A shame because as I said earlier things were ok but for a small Company (or any Company really) making manifestly stupid statements to cover screwing their customer base certainly doesnt help their public relations.
Vast over billing of unused gas
I am about to make a complaint to the regulator about Daligas, they supplied my rental property for a year but due to unexpected no gas use (as the water heater is electric) and seemingly no meter readings by them??They now blaming the last supplier reading we have been trying to resolve for last three months and they still owe me over £200 due to directdebits -must be worst energy provider in the UK?
Abysmal Website
I object these days to be unable to see my account on an energy providers website. This company are back in the dark ages where communication is concerned. Great so called prices but no knowledge of actual use age and amount in credit or debit
Three Years with Daligas
Well,Well,Well the "Remoaners" never stop and are never grateful for small mercies or what they have on their plate??
Three long years plus with Daligas and they have always to-date been great even thier c/services we have found superb.
When we have had too contact then via phone they have sorted any queries and actioned "ASAP", any refund and if necessary drop the D/D.
Appreciate that the readinds are not as like the big boys but if the savings are ther, be grateful and do your monthly reads yourself and send them ,also keep a file of the reads.dates.day then check when year year is up .
Like everything else, you keep an eye on your readings and so forth, don`t blame others unless you know your own acounts are in order.
Keep reads regularly and write - copy all down.
Thank you Dlaigas.
The force be with you.

Difficult to Contact
I have been a Daligas customer for about 19 months. Their pricing seems ok, but when I am in a contract, I pretty much stick with it, comparing periodically if it seem appropriate. Everything has been very simple with Daligas; I get a monthly request to provide the meter reading and receive a monthly 'invoice'. However, I recently wanted to check my history of meter readings provided to Daligas. It was only then I realised, firstly, there is no indication on the statement of the amount of consumption. Secondly, when I tried to check my meter readings history online, there is either no way of doing so, or it is just not apparent on the website, how to do so. That being the case, I went to the 'Contact us' page; I wrote a simple message using their online form, asking how I could check my Daligas meter reading history. That is when alarm bells started to ring, because all I got was a message saying the message had failed to send. I retried three times and got the same message each time. Then when I retried, I just got 'spinning arrows', indicating it was trying to connect.
The normal working hours for telephone contact are Mon-Fri, 9-5.30, i.e. when most people are either at work or on their way from work! So clearly, communications are not very good overall and actually very poor for an online supplier.
I am not a ditherer and if I feel a supplier/provider is unable to solve easy issues, then I am not going to hang around waiting for a more difficult issue for them not to solve! I am now looking for a better supplier. So, if you are looking for a supplier and checking with TrustPilot, Daligas started at 4 to 5 Stars for me, but has now dropped to Average.
Not to be trusted
I actually thought that after being with Daligas for 2 years, that they were a decent company. Changed my mind though now. I had been advised that one of their customer service ladies that I would change to their Fixed price tariff 17 when my current deal expired. They have now reneged on that promise by changing their tariff and refusing now to discuss the account with me. E-mails to their complaints office are ignored. Keep clear of this outfit.
Avoid
Hi joinEd daligas about two and a half yrs ago were ok but took weeks to sort out final yrs bill and even longer to pay out refunds could put up with that but when I left I was being billed for 5500 units for yr they sent me estimate for guts of 10000 i only used 2600 units units bearing in mind I left about 4 months before my years was up they said sse never sent reading which I personally don't believe as previous electric company first utility got it spot on and they keep you on previous yrs tarriff you have to keep on at them and on that them to get things sorted and make sure you keep a note of all meter readings it's a nightmare when you leave cheap company but useless ok if you want cheap but be prepared to wait good two or three months to get your yearly bill sorted and even longer for refunds
Hmm. Daligas what are you playing at?
I switched a year ago and my gas bill was half of that from my previous supplier but I knew it was too low myself. Despite many emails and meter reads including pictures of my gas meter sent to them they never adjusted my direct debit to fall inline with my usage. Do after I tear I am now switching because all that is happening is that I am falling deeper in debt with them for the sake of them looking like they are cheaper suppliers of gas than any other supplier. That to me is a con. Avoid at all cost unless you want zero customer support. At least Daligas will have to chase me for owed money not the other way round as seems the norm in these reviews. To sum up : small company trying to take on the big ones who's marketing strategy is to underestimate your gas usage so the monthly bill is lower !
No problems
With Daligas for three years now and have encountered no problems worthy of mention. Just know I have saved loads of money having switched from the major supplier.
Gas without the gassing
Certainly for me, and possibly for most homes in the country, Daligas can supply the cheapest natural gas on the market.
This exceptional value comes at a cost, of course. Daligas lacks the airs and graces of its competitors. If you want energy use monitoring mobile phone apps, or printed bills, look elsewhere. But of you just want to save your cash for spending on something more interesting than heating your home, then it is worth considering them. I've been with them for a few years now, and have had no issues.
Excellent company, 100% Recommend.
I've been with Daligas for 3 years now and have found them an excellent energy supplier.
The cost of the energy they supply is very competitive indeed and it's by far the most reasonable currently.
It's a simple switch to them with a quick picture of your meter, this shows all the information they require including meter reading and meter numbers.
I let them know my average usage and the first year they set my direct debit at £65 per month, as I was in credit at the end of year 1 they lowered it to £45 per month (sent me a refund for overpayment) for year 2, as in credit again they lowered it to £23 per month (sent me a refund for overpayment), that's what I currently pay.
I send them an email every 2 months with a meter reading although you are not asked/expected to do this.
We have gas hob and gas central heating with 2 year old Ideal logic 35 boiler feeding 11 radiators.
If you like to save money and don't require Einsteinic bills to decipher then Daligas is the supplier for you 10/10.
