Virtually stopped using ebay after 17 years!

Virtually stopped using ebay after 17 years as they are now one up from a scam site: Buyers protection AKA as a premium makes all prices look unattractive, things sell poorly unless one pays promotional listing sellers fees, (so now they basically charge buyers and sellers fees). On top of this loss over control of postage and they use the UKs poorest delivery company..EVRI who have in the last month messed up 100% of my items via either wrong address deliveries (my neighbours), lost items, late items (2 weeks late) and in one case smashed beyond belief. I see their Trustpilot rating is down to almost one star and imho it will not be long before they achieve the lowest rating of one star. The board of directors who run ebay UK are clearly not for for purpose. I now sell via Vinted, Etsy and Chrono24 all of whom are far better! And know I have not forgotten about their platform software which is riddled with on going bugs and issues and I would say an IT department who have no clue. A prime example is "send offers to" only one tries but it always says "error encountered not sent" so one has to phone up and complain and then IT correct the known fault one item at a time! IT appears to be run by a bunch of amateur kids who are learning on the job. Sorry ebay but was once a great platform is now one up from a scam and has forced me to move most of my buying/selling/collecting elsewhere. So bad that other platforms are now gaining ground very significantly. My strong recommendation is revert to how the platform started life as it was infinitely better back in the day and only about 5 years ago.

EBay are ignoring me

I bought a Tower sensor bin as a guest and it does not work. I am trying to return it but have my account has been blocked and the mobile number on my account is an old one. I have contacted EBay so they are aware of my struggle and was told the seller has agreed for me to return it by 6th October but to access the return label I have to login in to my account which I am blocked from for some unexplained reason.
However, I am supposed to access my account to do so, so I’m in a catch 22 situation and EBay are ignoring me.

Beware Ebay Shipping

Bought an item on Ebay from a US seller for delivery in the UK. Seller used Ebay International Shipping to deliver and Ebay (it transpires) undertake to the seller to make refunds to buyer in the event of non-delivery. Item did not arrive; indeed tracking reports item as having "visible damage" and being returned to the seller. I have sought a refund but Ebay keep putting case on hold; saying today: "The seller provided tracking information that shows the item is on its way to you." But on the basis of the tracking information this is plainly untrue. Seller also (wrongly) refusing to refund.

Moreover, under the agreement between the seller and Ebay, Ebay agree to protect the seller from negative feedback so you can't give feedback (I tried!) that you have not received the item you paid for and been refused a refund!

Lesson: avoid any purchases on Ebay where the shipping is handled by Ebay.

Ebay Postage Service Poor

I have been with Ebay for over 20 years selling and buying. They recently changed everything to match the format of Vinted. The problem is the Ebay Postage service is terrible. I have over 2000 Positive feedback scores, my record as a seller is perfect. I have had three items which I posted over the past month not arrive to the buyers homes. Ebay have been 100% useless in trying to sort anything out. Before these changes I had never had a single item go missing. Time for me to find another selling platform.

After being a member of eBay for 24 years ,I was appalled to discover that if you leave a negative feedback for a seller and happen to mention that you had to contact eBay to get a refund for goods not received,EBay actually takes down your feedback! Allowing these fake sellers to actually get away with running untruthful practices ! No wonder there are so many fake sellers on eBay!

Ebay UK, searching through ebay for sewing craft magazines etc I see 2 playboy magazines listed right in the middle of the craft magazine listings, I report it thinking the porn books are listed in within the craft magazines lot in error, filed the report to say listing error, response back was that there is no error..Browsers beware, Ebay clearly think it's ok to list porn magazines with everyday crafts, not something many would expect! Ebay clearly have no boundaries and anything goes, Scammers, Porn and Overpriced items, you can find it all under one roof.

EBAY buyers protection just a tax on spending i have no confidence in purchasing again.

I purchased a faulty item supplied by Hyundai new on 14th July it broke down some 36 days later during it's 2nd job ebay promised me a refund in 24 - 48 hrs but i got nothing i contacted then they again promised to resolve the situation but again they say it is outside the 30 day period, i paid buyers protection what is that about just a tax on your spending they don't protect you.
HYUNDAI petrol hedge trimmer sent with a bent bolt that i had to solve then it broke down on the second job some 36 days later total rubbish ebay didn't want to get involved thanks i won't be buying again.

Absolutely despicable

I have not used E Bay so decided to try to sell my daughters Prom outfit. Because I am not very experienced I thought this was a free service. My daughter sold it privately and I didn't think anything of it. So did not log back on to my Ebay account as dont use it . A few months later I got a letter from a debt recovery company to say I owed £30 selling fees.
As never had a debt in my life found this really scary. Obviously paid immediately but to warn others. Don't ever think like I did that it's free to sell or list an item.

I’d like to leave -10 Stars! I’ll quote Richard S as a fellow seller “Ebay have descended into some of the worst customer service of any company I have had the misfortune to deal with”
I have been on ebay for over 22 years and, in the last 10 days I have had issues with two buyers. One left ME negative feedback for an issue with Royal Mail saying they had tried to deliver the item. They received it a couple of days LATER! EBay have failed to respond to my repeated requests! The latest one a case was opened as a model car I was selling for £9 didn’t come with the plastic box. The buyer ‘opened a case’
So. I sent a second that is in a plastic box, they were told to keep both. I asked the buyer had they received it, got no response and contacted eBay on the case they opened and the buyer messages me saying WHY HAD I OPENED A CASE??? Errrr, I haven’t! Then they say that I’m a ‘POOR SELLER’ and they’ll be leaving negative feedback! Well, send both models back then that you paid £9 for and in the original packaging retail for £35-£45!
As a seller it is nigh on impossible to leave a bad buyer negative feedback. I’m done! I’ve removed over 130 items I had for sale and WILL not be buying or selling on eBay again! 22 years and they’ve gone to absolute S—T!! Blingster1975 IS DONE!

tried to buy something today but was concerned as to the lawfulness of the seller. The seller was openly selling a famous high end brand claiming it was a genuine product manufactured in Germany and top quality. It didnt take much on ebay site to establish that the product is manufactured in china, and distributed from china. This is clearly absolutely so clear from the outset that it is is a snide counterfeit product that ebay are endorsing. What on earth has gone wrong at ebay that they are stooping so low and bordering on issues that should be dealt with by our courts syystem. How can they operate with no regard to the law or unsuspecting buyers. im guessing the greedy ebay elite dont care and have made enough money to disregard genuine buyers who put them there

17 emails from Friday 22nd promising delivery everyday since.I ordered the trolley jack for £88.00. I am so peed off with it that I am asking bank to start chargeback but can't do it for 2 days. I am in contact with seller 'Tools for trade' who has promised to action the refund so I will see how this progresses. DPD should consider another business like street sweeping because they haven't a clue regarding delivery.
Another email promising delivery. These people really are taking the piss. That's 18

Ripping You Off For Your Nectar Points

Be careful, one of the reasons I use eBay is for the Nectar points and all of a sudden they are starting to claw back your points weeks after you have completed your purchase.

This is a bit of a con and will make me look else where in future if there is an alternative solution

I wish there were a minus star. This site deserves that. The utter callousness with which it operates, despite so many negative reviews speaks volumes. And serves well people like me who go by their loyalty .
Yes, it concerns a refund. The paradox is that the seller agreed to replace or refund me and when I chose refund, agreed to do so. However, the ebay intervened and said I do not get a refund without any reason on their part. I was the aggrieved party and the seller understood by grievance and agreed to rectify the same but eBay chose to intervene in a negative manner. Never ever buy from this site .

Be aware and don't buy post labels via eBay as seller. You are not protected by ebay when you accepting recommended postage with protection. Device was stolen. delivered only torn and empty plastic bag. Ebay saw on pictures where delivery guy brought damaged and empty package. All requests directly from me to Evri was ignored. Ebay didn't return funds, didn't try resolve this with delivery company. simply closing by force any appeals.

Ebay have descended into some of the worst customer service of any company I have had the misfortune to deal with . I have been a shop on ebay for over 12 years and They are all over you like a rash as a seller to ensure that your customer service to buyers is top class and if its not they charge you extra , so theres no real incentive for them to mark you up because they make more money if they find fault with your level of service , I have over 1300 sales in the last year and 4 of them have had problems and ebay charge us an extra 6% because of that so ebay have grossed approximately £5550 a year buy penalising us for 4 problems . Oh and by the way whilst writing this I have been sat on hold waiting for ebay customer service to answer the phone so that I can resolve , one of those problems that ebay are so insistant that you should never have . Thats 30 mins on hold so that this shower of S--t will not be able to sort it out . But then again its not really in their interest to resolve it because they make more money if they dont .

Don’t use.

EBay have resorted to make money irrespective of service.
They clearly don’t care. Look at the reviews!
I had a heated discussion with “Gerald”today, who was obviously Asian who without reason hung up on me.

They recruited cheap labour which results in poor customer service and their members have to suffer for it.

They are not worth the hassle.

Ebay is no longer for the everday seller!!!

Ebay company have forgot whot it was that made them so rich...now they punishing those loyal customers who have been there from the start, helping it grow by selling unwanted items, & buying from likewise sellers.

Thet have made it so bad, too many rules, too regimental, not frindly way to sell anymore.

SIMPLE DELIVERY--- well, sell something on a Friday you have to post by Sunday, which is impossible for so many. I have a Static caravan & am away most weekends! so I cant post weekends...been stated in my listing for years. I set mine at 5 day to post, and never had a complaint 100% feedback, in near 6000 transactions!
Listings are not seen anymore... i had 150 listings on, only about 5 had been looked at. Yet every item used to bee seen & would be many with watxhers. Would sell one or 2 things a week most of the time, not sold anything for 2 months.
Ebay keep trying to get everyone to 'promote listings' for more views. I won't be paying for that.

Just waiting for last listings to end not relisting. Using other simpler, friendly sites.
