Disappointing Brake Check Experience and Lack of Transparency
I booked a brake check, but after the inspection I was told that both brake discs and brake pads were badly rusted/corroded and needed replacing.
The quoted cost was around £700, which was much more than I could afford at that time. I clearly explained that I could not pay that amount immediately and that I might need to come back next month.
However, I was told that the brake pads had already been removed and that they had spent around two hours checking the car, so the work needed to be carried out. This made me feel pressured to accept the repair.
I also asked for a clear cost breakdown, the brand of parts to be fitted, and evidence such as disc measurements or a written brake report, but I did not receive clear answers.
