The booking process is unduly complicated, e.g. putting in a time when there is only one ferry a day and you have no choice. Charging 2.5% for processing a debit or credit card is now illegal and I... See more

Easy.....peasy business trip

My company 2QS (Quanta Qualification Solutions) required me to make one day busines strip to the Isle of White. I decided to go from Lymington to Yarmouth.
I needed a few simple details to hand and the web site system was easy and quick to use when making the booking. Paid by debit card to save on payment of a commission applicable to credit cards. That's it................and off you go.

Pretty easy to make booking

Booking our sailing to Portsmouth from Santander was very easy to follow. Speedy too.
The surcharge for our visa debit card was far too much in my opinion, and isn't necessary for frequent travellers Brendan and Ann

Bargain Ferry Crossing!

I looked at quite a number of ferry crossing sites and they all came back with the same price. I thought I would look at one more, I went through the site filling in my details, as you do, and the price came back....£14 cheaper than all the others and it was on the same ferry crossing! I booked it straight away.

Lifting the dog leg

i have always been happy with the service from p/o but to charge what they do for transporting a dog that never leaves the vehicle is daylight robbery

speedy crossing

Quick and easy way to cross the channel. Bookable online, easy boarding and disembarking, enjoy a drink or meal on board. All in all a good service.

avoid and book directly

Booking reference not recognised by LD lines, no contact page on ferries.co.uk website and help link in confirmation email not even active. Is my booking genuine or is this a scam site? Poor service. Avoid

Impossible for me to find poor criticism.

The ferry crossing I experienced from start to completion was 1st class. Punctuality, cost of fare, inboard prices, politeness of cabin crew, cleanliness, accommodation - all excellent. Only concern was that I felt cramped in the cabin & the restriction of pets could be reviewed.

From the minute we arrived at Sranraer we were treat with first class service and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Extremely organised and felt as though we were treat as first class passengers both with our vehicle, dog and ourselves. Was a great crossing in every respect and it was a superb start to our holiday in Northern Ireland. Thank you.

lack of clarity - Palma-Barcelona ferry

Its all quite easy to book online and pay. However if one deals with Balearia (in my case) i found that the cost was just under 200 euros. Paying with direct ferries cost just short of 300 euro's. The only problem is one has to be a spanish national - WHY?
Secondly, and more importantly. I very nearly missed the ferry because NO ONE, informed that this company had a new ferry terminal.
I therefore headed out to the one in Palma (MAjorca) having walked passed on foot the day previously.
There was no information upon driving in. I had to ask a passer by and i waited in line only to be told to return all the way back to near the cathedral.
I had only set off from there about 40 mins previously.
She told me i had to rush - and of course there were the traffic jams...............i could have done without this.

Hello Mr Henshaw,

Thank you for your comments.

Firstly in response to the price differences - From the information you have provided us with it seems the price you obtained via Balearia's website was one that was for Baleric Island residents only. Residents in the Balerics are entitled to travel at a cheaper cost, hence the request for Spanish ID to prove residency.

We are very sorry to hear of your troubles locating the port. As a ticket retail agent we do our very best to ensure the information on our website is as accurate as possible. I will of course be forwarding your comments to the relevant department to ensure we have the correct details for the Palma port.

Thank you for getting in touch.
