A Rip-off
We used FreeNow in London to get a ride from a train station to our hotel. It seemed to be the cheapest ride option, considering we had (a lot of) luggage we didn't want to bring on the train. FreeNow listed the price of the ride as 45 pounds. We booked a driver at that price and were dropped off at our hotel. Imagine our surprise when we checked our bank statement the next day and saw two charges from FreeNow: one for $90 USD and another for $60 USD. $150 USD is certainly not equivalent to 45 pounds. We had to contact the company to get the extra charges reversed. The ride certainly wasn't worth anything extra; the driver didn't even help us with our bags and he loudly complained on his mobile phone the whole time. (Are you even allowed to call and drive here? Not sure what the law is.) The company told us that the extra $90 was to 'ensure we had sufficient funds,' but we were not notified of this practice ahead of time and there is no reason they needed to know if we had an extra $90 to pay for a 45 pound (about $60) ride. It doesn't add up.
Anyway, not a good experience and I would recommend just taking an Uber or Taxi even if it seems more expensive. Bad company and bad service, do not use.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever
The app never works properly
Cancellation policy is abusive
The map is not working
They take 15% of each trip from taxi driver in Ireland
They take 5 euros of cancellation fees when you were waited for 15 minutes but the driver was not moving and you had to cancel
They scam you over about the number of trips registered on your app they tricked you with the number of favorite drivers and most of all, after more than 300 trips in my case I have received NO DISCOUNTS NO EVEN ONCE no rewards for loyalty
This company is shameful disgraceful organization
Scam! Aware of higher prices
As they offered 40% or 5 GBP discou8nt I decided to use them. I checked the price for 5 miles trip and with discount it was below GBP8. Usual price with Bolt or Uber would be around GBP 12. To my surprise I got a car in 1 minute. When I got home I was shocked to see GBP 35!!! bill. This is absolutely unaccepted for such short trip. The support was saying something about big demand but it was lie! It was Tuesday evening and bars and restaurants were mostly empty. So the drivers are creating some action to get the premium - simply scam! I insist that I should get the reimbursement and plan to write a letter to Transport of London. This scam should be stopped.
This was the last time I used them .
Charged 40 euro for a six minute trip…
Charged 40 euro for a six minute trip to the airport in Naples by a cheating taxi driver using their app. Even though they can see the starting address, finish address, and length of trip on their app they insist that the drivers are allowed to charge whatever they want and only offer me a 15$ credit for their app that I can't even use in my country now that I've gone home. They are basically begging drivers to lie since they will uphold any amount they say with absolutely no common sense involved. Legally in naples a trip from downtown to the airport is supposed to be 16-18 euro. 40 euro is completely insane.
Stealing £5 for no driver available
After months of service and trusting them with my card details, I've found that they have been charging me £5 for Taxis that they can't arrange as no driver is available.
I book a ride, they search for available drivers, minutes later they are all busy, get offered a blackcap at 3X the price so cancel, only to be changed £5.
NO its not pending payment, or to make sure you got the funds, its been taken from my account as confirmed by the Bank.
I am so disappointed, being disappointed I used them very regularly, and thought I could trust them, only to find out they are stealing £5 because they can't or don't have available drivers.
Very poor service
This is a very poor ride share service. I ordered one from Stansted airport, the first driver said he will be there in 2 minutes and then cancelled. The service automatically looked for another driver and the second driver did the exact same thing after accepting the request. I understood that this ride was never going to come after waiting for 20 minutes and 2 cancellations. There seems to be no guardrails against driver cancellations after accepting a ride. Will never use again.
Unfair pricing
Like so many other people have reported, I was overcharged for my fare from the price that was quoted to me. Not as bad as som but it doubled in price.
Customer service could not care about any of the problems and just regurgitated policy after policy about charging.
As others have said, there are more reputable companies to deal with so stay away from this one
they are fraudulent thieves
they are fraudulent thieves, on the app they showed me that my trip would cost £ 72 and then they charged me £ 180, I want a refund because that's not what I confirmed to pay
Avoid this app
I contact them at least ten times, they've never been able to help me, they stop replying to the emails and I have to start the process again.
I've was charged with two pre authorization charged on 8th of December, there wasn't any drivers so I cancelled both of them and should have my ore authorization back in my bank account after 30min but it hasn't happened.
I contacted my bank account cause both payments still appearing as pending payment, to fix the problem they asked for an email where FreeNow states that they won't take the money because it was a cancelled payment, the amount for both trips, the date and time, and the last four digits of the card that was used.
I've written a review in play store telling this story and FreeNow replied that I should have my pre authorization and if I don't I should contact them. Guess what, 5 emails more with the same result.
Taxi never showed even though it was prebooked
I ordered my taxi a few days before for Sunday 04:20am. Half an hour before I received a message that my taxi would arrive at 05:20am, which panicked me. I checked the app and the prebook still said 04:20am. I waited outside at the road since 04:10 and a moment later it said "driver is on its way". At 04:20 the app said "all drivers are busy at the moment" and no taxi came and I didn't even get a notification if I didn't check the app! And I had to hurry to get my bus to the airport! Worst experience in that moment, especially if I ordered it days before and suddenly last second it got cancelled!
Driver trued to overcharge by €30
Driver trued to overcharge by €30, no customer service just a bot. Police had to be called and they looked up the fair and could see I was been over charged
Brutal customer service
I recently hailed a taxi using the Free Now app in Dublin. The driver bypassed two exits to my destination from a motorway he shouldn't have been on in the first place. When I lodged a complaint, Clarissa Rocha in customer services sent back a fare calculator adding in possible extras to the fair which didn't apply to my journey, despite the fact that I supplied screenshots as evidence.
All she had to do was look at the journey and screenshots to see I was correct but instead used a fair calculator and blamed tolls (there were none), extra passengers (I was alone) and traffic ( 4pm on a Monday?)
She's in the wrong job.
I was double charged
I was double charged and i was not able to retrieve the money. Even though I've changed payment method to cash and paid in cash my card was charged. I noticed that next day and contacted freenow. I was told that they contacted driver which is clearly dishonest and didn't confirm that he received payment in cash. Since I didn't get a receipt I have no way of to prove it. If their app would work properly then this wouldn't be an issue in the first place. Poor app. I was offered discount codes as a reconciliation
Just terrible..
Ill keep posting until someone replies...
I used this service in Portugal and was pleased with the estimated fare vs actual fare price and service was good, however, I then decided to use the app back in London UK and that was a huge mistake.
I ordered a cab last week, which with my 8 pound discount gave me an estimated price of 11-14GBP (19-22GBP without discount, which is completely normal for the distance I went. Uber was 19GBP that afternoon). After being dropped off, the price was 33.6GBP before discount, ie. almost the double of the estimated fare, which does not make any sense and is completely unacceptable. Freenow should be able to estimate a price closer to the actual fare. I would not have used this service had I known the difference. I couldn’t see anywhere on their app that this price could differ so greatly in the end.
I emailed their customer service afterwards and the response and service I received was horrendous, making it sound like it was me, who was an idiot. I guess, I was an idiot for believing this app would be good. Lesson learned and I will NEVER use this app again. What an atrocity of a company.
Out of reality.
Out of reality.
If you are living in Portugal, have a driving license from Brazil (or another country, I don't know if they act like this just with Brazilians), and a valid passport, you still won't be able to use the scooter.
I've tried to use their scooters as I do with Cooltra and they don't allow me because of my Brazilian passport.
I am wondering in what reality are the developers of this platform living. There is a global world with no room for restrictions. I am a Brazilian citizen but living here and have all my stuff here.
I will never use this xenophobic service again. And if you guys wanna know, the taxi service is REALLY terrible.
Fraudulent company, terrible customer service
I ordered a ride but the taxi driver did not pick me up and left without me. I could not contact him because the app did not allow me to do it while I was looking at the driver moving across the city and reaching the destination without me.
I contacted the customer service and they said that since the driver confirmed the ride they could not refund me. Instead they gave me a voucher (of less value than the ride) and with an expiration of 3 months which I cannot use since there is no FreeNOW where I live.
AVOID this company since they do not care about the customers. They are at best incapable of controlling their partners or most probably they are accomplices rather than partners.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE...
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE...
SCAM. They quote a low fare on app only to charge double. When you question it they say other factors like weather and length of trip affect final cost..? Surely you quote taking these factors into account?
Use Uber or somewhere where you agree a final cost not a scam service like this that charge whatever they want...
Should be illegal. I am telling everyone and everybody to avoid on every format possible so you don't make my mistake....
It was OKish
It was OK. App seemed quick however..
There has to be some security issues with the app, I ordered a taxi in the middle of the night and it arrived promptly, as soon as I got in it sped off.
Turns out it wasn't the taxi I had booked, and he wouldn't let me out. He delivered me to my destination and demanded payment. I refused as I had already paid via the app and after some argument was allowed to leave.
I was then bombarded with phone calls from other firms claiming to be the taxi I booked. Very creepy. I rang the driver to apologise and explained.
So I got to my destination with only minor drama, and in the wrong taxi.
Waiting time is ridiculously long
Waiting time is ridiculously long, much longer then the one announced while ordering. Cancellation is impossible due to the cancellation fees. Awful experience.
