The Company finally got around to…

The Company finally got around to talking directly to me instead of trading emails that were not productive. Umesh from Hostek was patient with me as I installed 2 FA and helped me apply my payment credentials properly. With any luck, I won't have to go thtough this misery for at least five years or until my credt card gets hacked.

I was trying to write a more secure web…

I was trying to write a more secure web page by including a "con.php" file for database access. After several days of researching the cause of the problem, I contacted hostek support to see if they had any advice. CHRIS @ hostek explained the problem and showed me how to solve it.

Leaving after many years

I originally had my domain & email hosted by Gradwell who sold me off to Pickaweb who subsequently sold out to Hostek.
Out of the blue a couple of months ago the charge doubled from £13.19/month to £26.38/month! However that wasn't the reason why I left. What settled it for me was that I discovered that some of my outgoing emails were being incorrectly blocked by anti-SPAM measures BUT there was no bounce back message informing me that the email was blocked. It's bad enough that my innocent emails got flagged as SPAM but not to inform me that the message never got sent is simply outrageous. I've run mail servers & never come across this kind of behaviour before. When I messaged Support all they could suggest was that change the format of the email so it didn't get flagged as SPAM.
The good news is that I migrated to GoDaddy who now host my domain & mail. It only costs me £7/month & the user interface & experience is light years ahead of Hostek. The migration was trouble free & required no intervention on my part as GoDaddy did all the work for me in migrating hundreds of thousands of emails (Over 20 years & 25GB of messages). I wish I had done this years ago.

Hostek have improved no end recently

Hostek have improved no end recently. Their customer service is quick, polite and endlessly patient. Vlad, Fin, Tasha, and Hassan amongst a number of others were quick to pick up the issue from each other so for me finding a solution was quick and seamless

Not Friendly

I have been trying by e mail and chat to terminate my account with this compan. I yChatted with agent and when it got too much for him to research my account terminated the chat abruptly..also HOSTEK assumes everyone has a smartphone to use for a QR code and if you do not have one NO WAY are you goinG to be able to access your account.. They seem to have closed a UK office so you cant speak personally to anyone.
.AVOID...you get a better response from chimps at the zoo

Difficulties With My Business Site

My main business site, from which I manage nearly 30 domains for customers, was down causing delays in customers being able to pay their invoicing. Joao got my site back up and running.

I would avoid Hostek. Absolutely shocking

I would avoid Hostek as they seem to be extremely desperate for money, at a level I've never seen with a hosting company. In the last 12 months, first of all they changed the billing cycle so last year they actually charged 13 months. This year they've now increased the cost per month by 100% with no advance notice.
Also although they have automated billing, they now don't charge after an invoice is generated, but will wait until they've added a late payment fee, then miraculously find the ability to automatically charge the card on account.
Absolutely everything screams that this company is going downhill fast and absolutely desperate to increase income any way possible.
After several years with Hostek, I'm now looking for a new host.
