Lenovo Carbon Thinkpad X1 problems in first week of ownership

Two problems so far:
1. Only way to buy this in Ireland is through Digital River. Bad experience! No information, no copy of warranty. Sales people in Barcelona confused and lack knowledge.
2. Major problem with fast battery drain. Only lasts 2.5 hours while on Internet writing emails, with nothing else going on. Found out I had paid for premier support (didn't know that, wasn't given any options when buying). The Premier support person has been pleasant but so far no progress with the battery life.

Is it possible that this is normal for all these expensive Thinkpads? Before I bought it I saw one review that said it had 10 hours of battery life. Now, I wish it had 4-5. I have to bring the adapter with me everywhere.
Very unhappy with this purchase.

Steer clear. Customer service are careless.

Was interested in a laptop and the ad said it came with Microsoft 365 for free. It was more expensive than others of the same model because of this. I rang their customer service to check how long the software lasted and they assured me it was a one time subscription. Decision made to buy so.
When I got the laptop and logged in it said there was a one year trial only.
I immediately rang and the lady sounded like she was completely distracted and all you could hear was kids in the background.
When it had been delivered the courier left it on the doorstep and ran away. There were no delivery dockets and lenovo sent no invoice for the laptop...only for a premium guarantee which was supposed to be free....it was 1 cent!
So...customer service said they'd initiate a collection and refund...buy they have now refunded only the 1 cent for the guarantee and we have heard NOTHING about the collection of the laptop. It also says in their latest email that the computer was 407 euro and not the 501 that I paid.
I suspect they're scamming them through Northern Ireland and charging people in Ireland the extra fees without telling them or giving a proper receipt.
I don't expect good news regarding refund.

They tried to scam me

They tried to scam me. Spent a lot of time choosing an expensive (for me anyway) customizable Legion 5 Laptop. Added it to my cart and signed up for the 10% discount code offer.

Price after 10% discount was going to be €1,263.85.

By the time I received the discount code via email they had removed the customizable option for this laptop completely & also removed it from my cart.

Immediately after doing this the exact same spec laptop is available in non-customizable format for €1,404 after the 10% discount is applied. Essentially they increased the price by over 11%.

Clearly Lenovo is not a reputable company and this experience strongly suggests they engage in price gouging. The rep I spoke to afterward claimed no knowledge of a customizable version being available. How convenient!!

Buy elsewhere would be my advice. Clearly this company cannot be trusted.

Worst customer experience ever (Lenovo purchase through Digital River)

Four weeks after I ordered my laptop the tracking showed it had been returned to the warehouse and wasn't going to be delivered to me. It another eight days, and multiple contacts from me, to get Lenovo/Digital River to confirm it had been returned. I was told the laptop could not be re-sent and instead I would need to pay €1000 a second time if I wanted the laptop and I would get a refund of the first €1000 sometime in future. I was warned that the refund would be delayed because I hadn't got authorisation for the return! I declined and asked to just be refunded.

50 days after placing the order there was still no sign of my refund. I had to process a chargeback through my credit card company as Lenovo/Digital River had broken multiple commitments to refund me and I had lost all trust that I would be refunded. To cap it all, after my credit card company had processed my chargeback, I was advised by them that Lenovo/Digital River was disputing the chargeback and they may have to take the money out of my account again. Thankfully this hasn't happened yet but it has been desperately frustrating having to deal with this gross incompetence, or a complete lack of ethics, or both, over the last four months.

I will never buy a Lenovo product again and I will never give business to any company that displays the poor judgement to outsource their customer service or fulfilment to Digital River.
