Been using Netcup for a while now and…

Been using Netcup for a while now and genuinely happy with it.
The root servers have really strong CPUs and handle everything I need without any issues. On top of that, while other providers have been raising their prices recently, Netcup has kept theirs the same which I really appreciate. The ordering process could be a bit more straightforward, but overall it's a solid provider and I'd definitely recommend it.

I have been a customer for around 6–7…

I have been a customer for around 6–7 months and everything was smooth until this recent billing issue.

I am a student and my financial situation does not allow me to pay incorrectly generated invoices. One of the services included was already cancelled, and its renewal date is after 06.03.2026. I should not be expected to pay for a cancelled service that is not yet due.

I requested them to separate the invoice so I can pay only for the active server, but the issue has not been handled clearly.

Netcup is the best VPS provider out…

Netcup is the best VPS provider out there. I haven't had any problems using their support yet, so I can't say how fast and efficient they are. I hope I don't change my mind when I use their support, but in terms of resources, quality, and value for money, it's the best.

They will delete cancellation requests.

Answer to answer: Initial cancellation request was deleted. Only after sending many communications via many means, you acknowledged it, and stopped deleting it.

2nd, your "you will finish this month and stay a whole full month upon cancellation notice", is a practice I have not seen in 20 years, your business style is antiquate and not what nowadays people would expect, independently of that you can reference terms of services bulletpoints.

Finally, after a bit of research I have found it is also statutory illegal, you can not extend more than exactly 31 days after notice with excuses about billing cycles.

As per your contract, the relevant date you received from our support team is the reason why you still receive an invoice for the period before this date. After this date, no more invoices will be generated.
To conclude, we'd like to assure you as a customer that no cancellation request ist being deleted.

BEWARE: Netcup is a billing trap! (Silent billing fraud)

I am writing this to warn everyone because I feel cheated.

Usually, with any hosting company, if you don't pay the first month's invoice, they give you a grace period (maybe 10 days) and then suspend or cancel the service. That is the standard practice everywhere.

Netcup acts like a trap. I didn't pay the first month. Instead of cancelling the service, they kept billing me "silently" in the background for months. They let the invoices pile up without stopping the service, just to create a debt.

Now, suddenly, they are acting like goons, forcing me to pay a huge amount and threatening debt collection. It feels like total billing fraud. They wait for the bill to get high and then corner you.

Do not buy from them. They are not a normal hosting provider; they are cheating people by keeping dead accounts open just to demand money later.

We understand, of course, that some hosting providers implement certain measures such as automatic termination in the event of non-payment of invoices. However, this is not the case here – all terms and conditions are clearly stated during the ordering process and can also be reviewed. Our support team is also happy to help out in case of questions about this.

Therefore, we cannot understand the surprise in this regard and expressly reject the accusation that this is a trap. As you ordererd a product with monthly billing, you have received a bill every month, so this makes it hard for us to understand what exactly you are referring to when mentioning silent billing.

We would also like to emphasize that we offered you a goodwill solution with a significant reduction in the amount, and even this was not accepted. Therefore, we do not appreciate your statement of us cheating our customers. From our point of view, everything possible was done here to accommodate you with a satisfactory solution.

Netcup gave us exactly what we needed before going live at scale: a clear, written explanation of how abuse reports are handled, what triggers suspensions, typical timelines, and how to escalate urgent/false-positive cases (including emergency support outside business hours). The response was structured, practical, and reassuring. Based on this transparency and the strong value for money, we feel confident moving more production workloads to Netcup.

I am using my server normally.
We are a startup with an official label.
You suspended my server without any proof.
It seems your system was not able to properly distinguish between actual issues and normal server usage.

First of all, we can certainly emphasize with the inconvenience of an abuse case and understand that the suspension of a server is frustrating. A dedicated team is responsible for reviewing potential cases of abuse and sets measures accordingly.
This is also why our support team cannot give informations about the case and statements must be submitted via CCP, after which they will be reviewed individually.

As mentioned above, we can certainly understand the inconvenience, but there is a process in place in order to protect our systems as well as the systems of other customers.

Thank you, netcup, for this lesson.

I would like to sincerely apologize to netcup. It was entirely my fault for failing to memorize every single line of their Terms of Service. I clearly forgot that in order to use netcup, one must log in to their website every single day to check expiry dates, because apparently, sending a simple courtesy reminder email is a technology netcup hasn't mastered yet.

I was also naive enough to provide my credit card information, foolishly forgetting that in this day and age, stealthy charges can come from anywhere. How thoughtful of netcup to silently renew my server for an entire year without a word! I should be grateful they only took the annual fee and didn't empty my entire bank account. Truly professional.

Even though I contacted them within 25 hours of this "surprise" charge to rectify my mistake, their support team stayed firm. Thank you, netcup, for this lesson.

I also use Hetzner and gotta say that Netcup has nothing to envy them for when it comes to servers.

Prices are cheaper, servers are just as good or better, and overall I'm really happy with Netcup.

The only issue is their UX and having to cancel a server 31 days in advance, so you always end up paying for an extra month you don't need.

If they fix that, it'd be an excellent service.
