Overpriced and unreliable. After living in London for more than 10 years, I am absolutely shocked that this price hike is allowed to continue, every year there is a price increase of ~5-6% or mor... See more

I
Customer Service is a Total Joke
Although I use TFL quite a lot recently I have had reason to contact Customer services. The amount of time it took to receive a reply from them is abysmal. In fact all they seem to do is send your complaint to the Operator concerned. By the time that operator reads your complaint far too much time has elapsed and any CCTV would have been overwritten. Recently I witnessed an elderly lady being shouted at on the bus by the driver, I intervened and asked him to show some respect at which point he started on me. The lady was quite upset. Also the drivers in the area where I live can often be seen refusing wheelchair passengers because of pushchairs being in the wheelchair area. Both these occasions I reported to only get the standard 'BS' from customer service and it was very apparent that they really could not care a less. I have also asked TFL to explain why drivers from certain communities often allow people from the very same communities to simply board without using either a Credit Card or Oyster card ! Only last week my friend and I witnessed 7 people board without any payment but we didn't complain because there is no point as TFL have shown on numerous occasions that they really don't care. It really has become an appalling service which unfortunately visitors to our Capital will witness... and remember.
A realistic review
Compared to so many other public transport run bodies, TfL has come so far and does extremely will under the circumstances. The 1 star reviews here reflect a poor understanding of a very complex network and are largely one-off examples, forgetting that TfL move over 4million people every day.
Dreadful customer service from 'James'…
Dreadful customer service from 'James' when attempting to close down an old Oyster card and get a refund on remaining credit. He was hidebound and inflexible, insisting on a top-up payment before a refund could be made because 'that's how the system works'. Even hung up on the call when he couldn't get his own way in the face of reasonable refusal to pay for a refund. Do not use Oyster. The system seems to be designed to grab extra funds with no recourse to get them back. Utterly let down and infuriated by having to deal with these clowns.
Absolutely useless
What a useless vessel these are, just trying to get a receipt for the congestion charge is like pulling teeth. Happy to take money but customer service is non existent.

£21 for congestion charge for such a poor service - such a shame.
Auto pay doesn't work
Online payment is down all the time and all they are waiting to give you a PCN
I wonder why people do not go for a legal battle
Transport for London are thieving
Transport for London are thieving, conning and heartless. They make up fines just to make money out of us, life is tough enough without this. They should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
Stunning customer service
As a result of an earlier signal failure in Finchley Road, there were no services in either direction on the northern Line in the afternoon. When some friends and I arrived at Woodside Station and learnt of the lack of services, we each were supported by a station person who spent time with each of us working out an alternative way of travel. He was really kind, helpful and considerate, many thanks! As a result we each got to our destination successfully. Huge shout out to him and many thanks!
Endless intrusive announcements
Endless intrusive announcements on trains, tubes and stations. Totally unnecessary and can be damaging to those who are neuro diverse. Only emergency announcements should be given. Plus staff with too much time on their hands adding even more stupid ones - 'make sure your scarf & hat don't blow away', just now at H&C station Hammersmith, annoucer constantly saying which platform the next train is from, simply because they are under employed. It's amazing that many other countries don't do this and everyone knows what they need!! Humans are perfectly capable, and mini community forms if they don't know - they just ask another passenger!!!

I've been waiting 50minuts at Waterloo, crazy. My daughter was at aschool and it's really big stress and problem for me. This service is sheet
Dismissive staff members and overcharge
On April 26th at approximately 17:05 at Luton Airport DART, my mother and I had purchased our tickets online in advance. These tickets clearly included the journey from Luton Airport to Airport Parkway, including the DART shuttle. However, when attempting to use the QR code, it did not work at the gate, so I approached your staff for assistance. The first staff member I spoke to immediately told me to tap my card and pay, without checking my ticket. After I showed her the valid tickets, she dismissed them as “third party” and called another staff member who appeared to be a supervisor, was dismissive and unprofessional. Despite clearly showing valid tickets (which I can provide as evidence), she repeatedly insisted that I had not paid without properly reviewing them. This was not my first time using DART with TrainPal, and I have never experienced this issue before. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to properly assist was extremely disappointing.

Getting fed up with these idiots keep hiking their prices up unnecessarily , discusting there's no need for it £21.70 return to Colchester is too much
Omission of important information on…
Omission of important information on application
My 60+ oyster card wasn't letting me through the gates at Tottenham Hale Station.
Had to pay for my fare to Victoria Station.
I enquired why my card wasn't working. Was told it was invalid because I didn't pay for the annual renewal fees of £18.
My question is why wasn't I informed upon my initial application for the card at the very beginning that there is an annual renewal fee to pay?
So the solution for an invalid card is to make a fresh application and pay £36 again.
Would give -0 if I could
Would give -0 if I could. Absolutely disgraceful service. When trains are delayed for nearly an hour from a station a platform worker states that staff working on site are not prepared to even go on the loudspeaker and confirm a delay and to say "we will update you when we have more information " instead he said they were prioritising other tasks while walking away with a bin bag!!! What sort of customer care and information is that!!
I got stuck at Hackney Central Station…
I got stuck at Hackney Central Station and my oyster card was not working so I approached one of the customer service personnel called Oluwarotimi Jimbola and he took his time to contact the office for me on his phone and made sure I was sorted and finally my card was registered and resolved. This man deserves to be recognised and recommended 👌
TFL not fit for purpose
My Oyster +60 card was cancelled without any notification. The customer service advised they had sent me 3 emails. I have not received any correspondence from them for over 12 months ! I have now had to apply for a new card and they requested a 10 digit passport number mine is 9 !;The customer service admitted there are issues and they are being fixed ! Now have to pay a further £36 and apply via the post office as still not receiving emails.
Charged for a Ulez penalty on a vehicle…
Charged for a Ulez penalty on a vehicle i have not owned for 5 years! I had an old autopay account which I did not use and they charged that, then sent the payment to a depth collection agency as the card linked to the account had expired.
They do not check DVLA apparently.
Opportunities to Fleece Customers?
I lost my 60+ Oystercard and paid for a replacement card which was delivered to my home address, and have happily been using it since. 2 months later I received a request to confirm my continuing eligibility for the card based on my address. So despite receiving and using a replacement card recently sent to me, I still have to pay to confirm my home address, even though their records will show the card was received and is being used. Is this a money making scam? Is their a team developing other ways to squeeze money out of passengers?
Zero. Embarrassing.
Zero! Poor service, smelly tube stations and seats, staffs not helpful and do nothing about people pushing through barrier and not paying for their journey. Fairs increasing and constant tube strikes but no improvement on services, very embarrassing really. If you’re a tourist find an alternative way to travel. Avoid taking the tube as it will make your life a misery.
