This service is the worst VPN I have used in 20 years of using VPNs. Inconsistent connections, terrible software, terrible support, I honestly don't understand how they stay in business, must be some tax write off for a major CEO or drug dealer.

I would give them zero stars if possible. I purchased the VPN on January 27, 2026. After downloading the VPN, it won't connect to any websites. If I want to use the internet, I have to disconnect from the VPN. I never use the vpn to connect to any website. So I am asking for a refund.

Although I live in the UK and the server I have chosen is in the UK, I can't access the BBC iPlayer. I have asked this question to the robot in the contacts, but it couldn't answer.

I had a reply asking me to do various things, which didn't work. The web page for reporting faults does not exist!

They set it as automatic subscription which you can’t turn off when you are trying. Then the renewed is not working. They sending automated emails that they will reach out, which they only did when i tried to get my money back through paypal. In that email they said there is no issue, and they reached out, so they can send it to paypal. Blaming me, and yet not providing the service they stole my money for, not an attempt to fix my issue.. disgusting scammers

i left due to issues and funds, my accounts is now suspended unless i pay for a subscription so no free service.

I have had flawless service from Privado for a year and am so satisfied, I have renewed into 2027.

You can use it for basic website browsing, but it won't work for gaming or ANYTHING ELSE. NOT AT ALL. It constantly changes the IP address, so when you're playing, the game will randomly lose connection and can't connect back, since PrivadoVPN changed it's own IP address randomly.
Also, it's VERY SLOW! It takes minutes to connect, minutes to disconnect.
Also, there are a lot of issues. Like realistically 20 hours of 24 hours it's "working", the remaining 4 hours is just problems. Disconnects randomly, loses speed, like randomly drops to 1mbps instead of 1000mbps, randomly changes IP address, etc, etc.
It has a LOT of issues. It is MAYBE good for basic web browsing, but nothing else.
I would recommend you paying a little more for a good vpn, but not this piece of crap.
I bought a 2-year plan, but I had to buy a normal, working VPN too, since it's insanely unreliable.

I needed a VPN and tried the Free tier. It seemed to work fine, but a lot of websites (Google, YouTube, Reddit) are "blocked due to abuse," as you'd expect from a free VPN. Since the Premium tier supposedly had hundreds of servers, I paid for it because I expected the premium servers to work. The problem is those premium servers DON'T EXIST. No matter what country you choose, the app ALWAYS uses the same server in the Netherlands, the same server you could use in the free tier, and it won't even let you use Google without solving a dozen captchas. The "30 day money back guarantee" is a LIE. You're supposed to ask their support for a refund, but they simply don't reply.

Privado might seem cheap, but when you realize you're paying for a VPN that can only use a single server that's blocked by most websites, it's less of a bargain and more of a scam. STAY AWAY. DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!

Edited two months later (October 2025): I couldn't cancel my subscription during the infamous 30 day period because they never replied to my requests. I can confirm that two months after my original review, no matter what country you choose in the app, you still get an IP in the Netherlands every single time. ALWAYS. Absolutely useless VPN if you want to access geoblocked websites, unless all the sites you want to visit are in the Netherlands.

I purchased this VPN because it accepted Crypto Payments.

It’s a budget option, I paid $80 worth for 3 years.

It seems stable and speeds are fine, it had lots of countries, but very limited servers. Don’t choose this VPN if you plan on streaming,

Every server in Canada is flagged by Netflix (if you want to watch the office)

The app is alright, with features like ad blocking, known scam websites blocking.

Overall this is a good choice for everything but streaming

I had their vpn as a free add on thanks to purchasing another one of their scam businesses. Turns out this one was a scam too. I got a letter in the mail from a dmca agent when I was supposedly protected using their VPN. I guess it leaks IP info.
Also, all their servers are mostly hosted in the Netherlands with fake IP addresses from other places to fake their actual location.

PrivadoVPN is a total joke. Their servers are fake as hell — you pick a country, but your IP ends up somewhere else entirely. The connection drops every 5–10 minutes like clockwork. I paid good money for this crap expecting something reliable, but all I got was trash that can’t even stay online. Don’t waste your time or money — there are plenty of VPNs that actually work, this one’s just a disgrace.

PrivadoVPN is a scam. The VPN locations are all fake they all get detected to be mostly from Netherlands. Contacted Support to get refund on the first day signing up. The worst VPN out there both as a product and as support. Stay away! You been warned.

Edit: I tried to contact them for refund and still no reply from their ticket system / email.

PrivadoVPN stands out for its generous free plan and simple, polished apps. Speeds are decent, and it works well for streaming and torrenting. However, the server network is modest, support via email can be slow, and occasional login or captcha issues have been reported. Reliability is mixed.

First time using this “free” VPN and somehow I ran out of data before even turning it on. What a joke.

I use Privado for a long and I wanted to give a good review here (5 star).

However, I read other reviews about the problem of blacklisted servers and of sites asking for bot checking.

I have this problem too. Well known sites ask for bot check every time I opened them, even if I'm logged in.

I tried to create a new ticket in Privado support for advice, but I got a picture captcha that I solved correctly at least 6 times, but it didn't stop!! I was logged in and without active VPN connection!!

As a result, I quitted from trying to solve the captcha, and came here to finally give a bad review.

Since Privado reads these reviews, I want an answer for the non-stopping captcha in your email form that prevented me from contacting you.

Where to start?
Google often/usually blocks Privado "due to unaddressed abuse complaints about malicious behaviour" from my chosen IP (one of the few offered in Asia) requiring multiple captchas to progress - very frustrating.
Videos pause/buffer, even lo-res such as Facebook. Investigated at whatismyipaddress.com which states, 'Looks like you're using a VPN!' - not what you want.
Finally, trying to cancel my subscription under the 30-day 'money-back guarantee' proved difficult. They initially denied the refund and only responded after this review had been published.
