SSD 

Had issues. The owner corrected them.

I ordered two "in stock" records, both said "ships in 1 business day". Now it's 18 days later and they haven't shipped. So I canceled.

I have been hemming and hawing about what to do about vinyl. I have a great phono-stage, and bought a decent (but mid level) Rega RP6 to see which way I was going to go. I decided to go "all in" as the sound, even from the RP6, was better than almost any CD I listened to on my modified Oppo 105D. So, I decided an RP10 with an Apheta 2 cartridge was for me.

I had not purchased anything from Sound Stage Direct before and was a little leery about buying something so expensive from an on-line store. So, I did a short e-mail to the company about the turntable and the next morning I got a call from a guy named Seth. I wasn't sure who Seth was, so I asked him-- turns out he owns the company. That pretty much sold me, along with the very competitive price of the unit.

I placed the order for the turntable and had it within 3 days. Very impressive turnaround. Needless to say, I really love the RP10 and couldn't be happier with how Sound Stage Direct took care of me.

I don't think I need to talk to the owner every time I buy something, but it's really nice to know that he's there running Sound Stage Direct like a small store. These days, that's rare, it's the kind of thing that keeps me coming back.

I had some problems around the holidays getting orders shipped. After talking with Seth he made it right. They work hard to provide a good experience for the customer. Great staff and quality packaging.

I have had perfect service up until last week. I ordered the "fancy" reissue of Sgt. Pepper. When I opened the package, I discovered that there were only two Ads, instead of the four pictured in the ad, and there was only one DVD, instead of the two pictured in the ad.

I sent an email request early last wee, explaining the issue. A few days later, I received a reply, asking we to restate what I'd described in detail in my first message. Since then, I have received no message from SSD.

I will write another email right now.

I hope SSD will take care of things, and quickly!

I had a great experience with SoundStageDirect! The delivery shipped quickly and the packaging was above and beyond!

They promise deliveries within a timeframe and don't deliver. Calling customer service is a waste of time as they continue with false promises. Only once have orders been delivered even close to scheduled date. Never again.

Great selection and things are shipped quickly in great condition.

They offer discount codes, which is fine and dandy, but if your code pushes your order below $49, you lose your free shipping, which nullifies your intended savings. They won't negotiate this, even though it would be the right thing to do. Or, specifically state that a code pushing an order below $49 nullifies your discount.
They used to be far more accommodating.
I've deleted orders, and taken my money elsewhere over their refusal to help me with a dollar or two. If that's fine with them, so be it.

the real deal

I know that living in Alaska, shipping items here will take awhile. Once my package was received, I found that the LP I had ordered was in great condition. I do believe I will order a big order next time to be worth the wait. Thank you again.
