After four years of purchasing records from SSD, I got sick and tired of their policy of advertising "new releases" and then taking six months to fill an order. Last year I wrote a scathing review an... See more

Terrible communications. They shipped 2/3 of my order and refuse to ship the other 1/3, or even bother to respond to my multiple emails telling me why. Garbage customer service. Avoid.
Soundstage Direct takes enormous stride in keeping their vinyl stock in pristine condition, free of marks or dents which many online shops don't do. My vinyl purchases always arrive well protected an... See more

Very positive experience, love this site!
I have had a great experience ordering from ssd.
Very nice people who sell garbage, never again
They are now 2 for 2 in sending me orders that have 1 vinyl record so badly warped the needle bounces and skips through an entire song before you can get to the turntable and lift it off. All the rest I never play because they don't skip but they are still damaged, I'm too nervous to use them. It's like they are purposely storing their vinyl in a hot and humid warehouse. I wont even bother returning the last piece of garbage they sent me, I'm washing my hands of this store.
Have already ordered from them again.
The albums were packed well and came in excellent condition. I will definitely buy from them in the future. As a matter of fact, I placed an order today.
kinda poor planners, but easy to deal with.
I ordered a few vinyls back in November. Two of them were awaiting release, but the one in stock shipped right away and I got it within just a few days. Fast forward to February, the second vinyl is finally released. I call to figure out when my second vinyl will ship. The rep says she'll split my remaining order and get it shipped - their plan was to wait until the third and final vinyl was released and ship the last two together. A few days later, after not receiving a shipping confirmation, I call again and ask what the scoop is. The rep says it's awaiting shipment, I get the vinyl a few days later. It took a little extra effort on my part to get my second vinyl when I thought I should get it (after waiting 3 months and the release date getting pushed ahead 3 times since I placed the order, you'd figure they'd understand my lack of patience). I'm still awaiting the release of the third vinyl, due to come out in just a couple days. In a perfect world, I'd like it to be on my doorstep the day it's released, but we'll see if thats the case.
All that being said, the reps were polite and for the most part yielded results. I'll most likely still do business with them in the future, maybe just not for any preorders.
Shipping quotes.
I am happy with the packaging of the vinyl. The discounts are wonderful. However, I have only placed 2 orders. Neither order shipped until I corresponded by email. The website and the order said that the orders "usually ship within 2-4 business days." It is more like 5-6 business days. I have read a lot of reviews about Soundstagedirect, and it seems that this is not an isolated incident. I have ordered from Amazon a week after placing an order with Soundstagedirect, that's 5 business days after. The Amazon order arrived within one day of my order with Soundstagedirect. They are able to always make their quoted shipping time. I know that your Soundstagedirect may be trying to show that their response time is quick, but it is not. The order takes a long time to process because they have to wait for the merchandise from a 3rd party. With vinyl becoming more and more popular, there is more and more competition. I wish that they wouldn't deceive the customer about when the item will or usually ships.
Smooth Transaction
Responsive and attentive customer service when I inquired about shipping. The order did take over a week to process before it actually shipped but then arrived pretty quick. One album did arrive warped though.
Tremendously satisfied!
Excellent service, great communication, fabulous packaging, will definitely purchase from Soundstage again!
Excellent customer service.
Sound stage is absolutely amazing. Fast service and great customer service.
Great prices, selection and shipping
Best place to buy vinyl online
Exceptional Customer Service
It's quite obvious that Soundstagedirect has access to an astounding variety of great vinly records. What's not as obvious is the care they take when packaging your product for delivery. Opening one of my many Soundstagedirect shipping boxes, is like experiencing Christmas morning as a child all over again. They use reinforced cardboard, bubble wrap, and double encase the albums with a protective album sheath. These guys know how we audiophiles treat our music, and its clear when you receive your first shipment that they do as well. Moreover, they're going to give you the heads-up if something comes in that doesn't quite meet their expectations to ship out. For example, I ordered a BB King Live at the Regal that came in with a creased corner. Instead of shipping that to me, and taking the chance that I wouldn't care, or just wouldn't bother shipping it back, they engaged me and asked if I would be interested in receiving it at a reduced price. When I opted to wait for the mint condition LP, they didn't hesitate to accommodate my request. These guys know how to deliver an optimal customer experience in a world where very few merchants do.
Best mail order vinyl out there
Very easy to work with and provide great quality control.
Their mailers are better than everyone else and they will inspect the disks for warping and scratches before sending. They also remove the disks to prevent seam splits.
Best mail order vinyl out there.
Excellent experience
Shipping was fast, the packaging was great, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase!!!
Best Place For Vinyl
I've been ordering from SSD for a long time now and I have never been let down by their excellent customer service and their packaging. The vinyl selection is also awesome. Highly recommended.
SSD customer service
Always eager to help and the customer always comes first
Turntable trade-in.
I called to inquire about a turntable trade-in. The person that I spoke to, I feel, was condescending. I left the conversation feeling totally unsatisfied and disappointed. Someone else should handle this area of your business. Thank you.
Slow
Very slow response time & Vera slow shipping.
Quality of vinyl is great but doesn't outweigh the slowness in the age of Amazon & Zappos.
Soundstage Direct
Excellent record store. Kind and courteous staff. Highly recommended.
Excellent service
Never a bad experience. Great customer service whenever I have questions
