Good idea, but some issues

I had some delivery issues - the wrong pan, then DHL broke the replacement, but the Washloo staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful, doing their best to get me the right package quickly.
On advice I ordered a new pan with my Washloo, to make sure it was a good fit to the seat. It is connected to my old built in cistern, but flushes better - it’s just a better design.
The pan is a standard size but the water and air pipes fit inside the rim at the back, so the seat aperture is a couple of inches smaller - not a problem for me, but my partner has a more generously proportioned derrière, and finds it pushes her too far forward. A normal seat lid hinges up to vertical then back to rest on the cistern, but the Washloo lid only opens 90 degrees, exacerbating the problem.
The water mechanism works quite well, although you’re going to need loo paper! Picture washing bird poo off your windscreen with a small hose and no brush….. Similarly with the dryer - picture coming out of the shower and trying to dry yourself with a hair dryer fixed to the wall - one bit gets dry and burns while another is dripping wet. That said, with a bit of practice and some loo roll to hand you can achieve a good clean result - much better than using loo roll alone if like me you have problems in that department.
The remote control buttons are not intuitive, and the booklet is no help. What does 3 flashing lights and a beep mean? Not even Karen the Washloo help line lady knew, although she did find out and email me the answer as promised.
I’m not sure how much power it uses - you can’t turn it off between uses because then it forgets your settings. Karen says it’s minimal, but it produces instant warm water and the seat stays warm to the touch, so it’s clearly staying on 24/7.
Under the lid there’s quite a list of “do’s and don’ts” including don’t use abrasive or chemical cleaners. It’s a loo - bleach and loo cleaners are strong chemicals….
My loo is next to the shower, and I want to step out and sit on the closed loo seat to get dry - you can’t! It’s made of flimsy plastic that won’t take your weight: apparently it’s a cover, not a seat, so you’re going to need a stool in the bathroom to sit on.
With a redesigned lid which opens past 90 degrees and can be sat on when closed the Washloo would be a winner - as it is its ok, and better than a normal loo and a pack of wet wipes, but by the time you’ve bought the Washloo and new pan and paid a plumber and electrician, you might prefer to install a bidet - put it in the space you cleared by not needing a stool!

Post script
I have re-read my comments and your response, and have some thoughts:
*The Washloo staff work hard to provide a good service: they deserve to do well.
* I was trying to provide full information in a humorous way: I’m sorry if I was too graphic! It’s almost impossible for a machine to wash and dry you perfectly - I was trying to say the Washloo does a good job, but point out where there’s issues or room for improvement.
*The smaller seat aperture and restricted Iid opening I mentioned don’t affect me much, but it is an issue for my partner, so presumably for others of a similar build,
*The lid you can’t sit on is a big issue for me - it didn’t occur to me to ask if I could as I assumed everyone does it, but clearly I should have. You responded that there’s a more expensive model that can be sat on - I would have chosen it if I was aware of the issue: it’s not mentioned on the website.
*I chose the loo from a picture on the website which showed a pan with no cistern but you sent a close coupled unit. You guys went out of your way to get me the right one quickly - I guess it’s a problem with distance selling? Once again, with hindsight I should have picked up the phone and confirmed I had ordered the right one.

Thank you for your review — we’re really pleased to hear you found our team cheerful, friendly, and helpful throughout the process.
We’d like to take a moment to clarify a couple of points for you and for the benefit of future customers. Firstly, the delivery issue arose from the incorrect product being ordered initially by yourself. However, we were happy to step in — we also covered the cost of next-day delivery for the correct replacement, as well as the return shipping for the wrongly ordered item. Our aim is always to resolve these things as swiftly and fairly as possible.

Regarding cleaning: the guidance to avoid abrasive or chemical products applies specifically to the Washloo seat and electronic components, not the ceramic pan itself. The pan can be cleaned using traditional toilet cleaners, but the Washloo seat requires gentler care to preserve the integrity of its sensitive parts. Warm soapy water does the job fine!

You also mentioned the seat lid not being suitable for sitting — that’s correct. The model you selected has a very sloped design, which isn’t intended to bear weight or act as a sitting surface. For those who need a sturdier lid that can be sat on, we offer fully integrated back-to-wall models such as the Odyssey, which features a solid lid design and can take higher weight limits along with larger apertures for people with "more generously proportioned derrière's". These models are more robust in that respect, though they do come at a higher price point.

In terms of power consumption, the Washloo is designed to be highly energy efficient. The ceramic tube water heater only activates when requested, heating water on demand rather than continuously, and the heated seat uses low-wattage technology to stay warm without excessive electricity use. You can also use Eco mode which further reduces the energy consumption by reducing the seat temp until sat on.

You also asked about the three flashing lights and a beep — this simply indicates that you’ve cycled through levels 1, 2, and 3 on a given setting, and it resets once the highest level is reached. It’s quite straightforward once familiar, but we appreciate that it may not be immediately obvious. We’re glad Karen was able to follow up with a clear explanation.

We’re glad to hear that with a little practice, you’ve found the cleaning function offers a much better result than traditional toilet paper alone although for more specific needs with toileting, can understand if you need to use some toilet paper. And we appreciate your patience and your praise for Karen’s follow-up.

Kind regards,

The Washloo Team

I spoke direct to Washloo regarding our…

Helpful people and good product knowledge.
I spoke direct to Washloo regarding our requirement. It was good to be able to talk to someone knowledgeable rather than multitude of online options that happens with so many companies customer services.

Washloo

I have only just had my washloo fitted,I have a problem with my arms and have trouble reaching my private parts,I find it really brilliant for doing the job for me,I feel really clean after using it,the only thing I find is the drier could be better as I still have to dry myself as it doesn’t quite dry enough but I don’t mind ,over all I wish I’d had one of these years ago,I would give the washloo an eleven.

Repair to broken part on seat

I purchased a finesse dr for my wife who is disabled. Within warranty the locking mechanism, which is plastic, broke. I contacted washloo and was informed of the price to return and repair the seat. I was informed that this breakage had only happened once before as it was due to misuse. I think Washloo should be aware that moving a disabled person on and off a loo can be quite challenging and is not easy. I think they should look at the design and make it more robust. I have not had the seat repaired as could not do without the seat while it is being repaired. I used double sided tape to hold it in place
Regardless of this unfortunate episode I bought another seat for a second toilet and would recommend them but am still disappointed with the decision by staff to not arrange for a repair under warranty.

Thank you for your feedback—we truly appreciate your support and understand the challenges involved in assisting a disabled person with toileting.
The unit in question was nearly two years old at the time of the issue and had sustained physical damage, which unfortunately falls outside the scope of warranty coverage. While the Finesse DR is a luxury item rather than a dedicated disability aid, we recognize that it can offer valuable benefits to individuals with certain disabilities. However, if moving a disabled person on and off the toilet proves difficult, a different product or additional support equipment may be more suitable. We understand that such options can be significantly more expensive, which is why many customers choose our products as an alternative.
We take pride in ensuring the cleaning effectiveness and hygiene benefits of our products, but unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for physical misuse or unintended damage. We do appreciate your feedback regarding the robustness of the design and will continue to evaluate ways to improve our products while maintaining their unique functionality.
Despite this issue, we are grateful for your continued trust, which is why we were pleased to offer a generous discount on the second unit you purchased. Your recommendation means a great deal, and we remain committed to providing high-quality products and excellent customer service. If you have any further concerns or suggestions, we welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you.

Washloo - What a great company!!

I bought their Supreme D shaped smart toilet. Before I bought it, Alex, was very kid enough to do a video call with me to explain everything. On installation, Oliver, was great to explain how easy it was to do. Over all their customer service is fantastic!! The toilet itself is super. Love the foam feature. If you are looking to buy a smart toilet I would thoroughly recommend Washloo !!

Staff are amazing, couldn’t recommend this company enough

Staff are amazing
Spoke and emailed with Karen at their office, but also spoke to a couple of other staff members, and they were all really really helpful & went through everything with me. Even helped me re measure the toilet as id got the wrong measurements (even though it is plainly set out on their website (so was me not following it correctly)). Also explained all the different bidet options. Have now got one bidet toilet seat & in the not too distant future (maybe after visiting their showroom) I’ll be ordering a whole bidet toilet
I’m disabled and also looking for this setup for my parents & the staff at washloo were very helpful in this regards & if you are disabled and qualify there is a vat free option.
