I’ve been using Wise for international…

I’ve been using Wise for international transfers and everyday payments, and my experience has been consistently excellent. The platform is very easy to use, with a clear interface and no hidden fees – everything is transparent from the start.

Transfers are fast and reliable, often arriving sooner than expected. I also really appreciate the fair exchange rates, which are much better compared to traditional banks.

Customer support has been responsive and helpful whenever needed, which adds to the overall trust in the service.

Overall, Wise makes managing money across countries simple and stress-free. Highly recommended!

Sadly this services has tanked

Sadly this services has tanked! When trying to send money to Greece they ask questions that are not applicable and thus can’t be answered. Then they cancelled the transfer without explanation. All of this to a company that I have paid to multiple times! Poor.

Hi there.

Thank you for being a long-time customer. We're sorry for the frustration this recent transfer caused. Because we're dealing with international transfers to Greece, we're often required by banking partners and global regulations to ask specific—and sometimes confusing—security questions. We hate that this led to a cancellation without a clear explanation.

Our account was closed despite us…

Our account was closed despite us having a registered UK company, for no apparent reason.

This is a failing and high-risk financial brokerage firm. Never leave any money with them.

Personally, I do not recommend using them. Go to competitors; it's better, less risky, and simpler.

They kept our money in the account and haven't returned it yet.

A complete scam.

Hey there,

As a regulated financial instituition, scamming isn't a business we're in. We know that having your account closed is frustrating, but we never do so without a reason. Account closure is usually a result of a conflict with our Terms of Use: https://wi.se/accountdeactivation. We can't share the exact reason of the deactivation, due to how we're regulated.

If you disagree with the decision and if there's any money in your account upon closure, you can file for an appeal to have your account reviewed and request for refund — more info in the link I've shared earlier. Rest assured that your money is safe. When we close an account with money in it, we have to complete due diligence checks. Once they’re completed, we’ll get in touch about refunding your money.

While we understand that there are other options out there, you've every right to choose what suits your needs. For us to look into this closer, please contact us at http://wi.se/help, by clicking "Trouble logging in?", select an issue, click "I still need help", and then "Contact us”. - Wise

Still no resolution — only more obstacles and no accountability

I am updating/replacing my review because Wise did not respond meaningfully to my previous update, and the situation remains unresolved.

My account is linked to an email address I no longer have access to (compromised) and to a UK address where I no longer live. I am resident in Spain and all I have been trying to do is either update my account correctly so I can continue using Wise, or close the account if that cannot be done.

Instead, I have been sent in circles for weeks.

Wise’s latest position is that I must call the UK so they can verify me by phone. But Wise has already been informed multiple times that I do not have a Spanish phone plan that allows me to call the UK without incurring significant charges. I should not be expected to pay out of pocket to fix a problem caused by Wise’s broken process and poor handling of my case. A reasonable solution would be for Wise to offer a callback or a cost-free alternative, but that has not been offered.

I also do not accept Wise’s explanation regarding my formal complaint. My complaint was submitted using my current accessible email address, and that email also has a Wise profile linked to it. I therefore do not accept the claim that complaint acknowledgements or requested information could only be sent to the compromised email address.

I was also told chat transcripts and relevant information would be sent, yet I never received them. This followed an interaction with agent Victor that was shockingly poor. He was dismissive, rude, unhelpful, refused to clearly confirm where transcripts would be sent despite knowing I could not access the registered email, and ended the chat abruptly rather than addressing legitimate questions. To date, I find it very telling that Wise’s replies continue to avoid addressing Victor’s conduct at all.

That silence speaks volumes.

At this point, the problems remain:

- I still cannot update my email through the standard process

- I am still being pushed toward a solution that would cost me money

- My concerns about complaint handling remain unanswered

- My complaint about Victor’s conduct remains unaddressed

- I still do not have a straightforward resolution to update or close my account

It should not take a formal complaint,
public reviews, and repeated escalation for a financial institution to deal reasonably with a customer trying to correct their account details.

I wanted to keep using Wise in Spain. Instead, I have encountered obstruction, poor service, and a complete lack of accountability.

If this remains unresolved, I will pursue the matter further with the Financial Ombudsman.

Slow, illogical, non-intuitive if compared with others

This is absolutely the worst bank among today’s modern banking platforms. Of course, banks with physical branches are often even worse, but Wise is massively and unjustifiably overrated when compared even to Revolut, which we have been using for more than ten years. It is astonishing how illogical the Wise app is by comparison, and how slow its services are. A transfer from your own account to your own account can sometimes take four days or several hours, while with other banks it happens in one or two seconds.

It is absolutely astonishing that we still occasionally try to use Wise, yet every time we are reminded of its very low standard. Positive reviews of Wise are written only by people who have no experience with Revolut, which is absolutely outstanding in every respect.

They closed the account

They closed the account, canceled a £563.96 transaction, and are still refusing to refund the money to Stripe.

I think this is one of the biggest scam transaction companies out there, and I only have a small amount. I know people who have had huge sums of money stolen from them unlawfully.

The dumbest thing they do is ask you to put your membership number in the complaint form!

How am I supposed to know that when your account is locked, and I can't log in?

That's how I see them, and it won't change.

"This money transfer company is full of hatred and racism."

I swear to it, but they don't show it, even though they know it 100%.
