Definitely NOT worth the hassle. The amount of work and effort you have to put in to complete an assignment for a maximum of £20-30 is not worth it.
If you make any errors they will try to find any reason to NOT pay you.
The managers do not care.
There was an occasion when the person I was meant to be shopping was not there during the time frame specified.
I made the effort to get to the address and was told to wait around and hope the people turned up, otherwise I wouldn't be paid.
Needless to say I didn't hang around as I'm not one to blackmail.
Their work will not be accurate because who will complete a detailed hour long assignment for £10 ?
Avoid unless you have the patience. They are not worth the effort.
I have worked for them for several years. They take a long time to pay. Recently they have been making excuses for not accepting reports and refusing to pay which makes one wonder if they are still sending the reports to the client and pocketing the shoppers fee. I would suggest avoiding them.
Nice staff but this company does take a very long time to pay, compared to other companies, that have set payment dates, or atleast have payment time frames.
Also, the variety of jobs is limited and not very consistent.
So, I do not take assignments for this company anymore.
I agree with the other shoppers. I have been mystery shopping for years with various companies. I did a couple of assignments for Amber Arch, one of which I wasn't paid for. I did a really detailed reported and an objection was raised on a comment that a staff member had made. I had to re-write the comment at least 3 times after being spoken to in a very patronising manner, still didn't get paid.
Very shady company, rude uncouth staff who deny people of their earnings.
I went all the way to Bournemouth from Swindon twice for a review for them, they waited for me to submit the reports over the weekend and then told me on Monday afternoon that i didn't appear to be a credible customer. The nerves! The emails sent to me were rude. Avoid this company at all costs!! That was me working for free + spending my money tp travel all the way. I explained to them that the shopper fee was exactly the same as the travel expenses but they wouldn't care less. Wicked people, businesses like this cannot last as its built on other people's sweat.
If there was a -1 star option available I would certainly give this to them. They are extremely unprofessional, ill mannered, rude, unethical and have no sense of customer service. They are not part of any overarching mystery shopping body. Their arrogant and ignorant attitude goes right through the company. They give the mystery shopping business a very bad name. I echo the reviews of other bad experiences and would warn others who intend to work for these clowns to stay away.
Unfortunately i echo the negative comments from other reviews. What an absolute shower this lot are, unprofessional, rude and disorganised. The worst mystery shopping company i have worked for in my 20years as a mystery shopper.
There are many other mystery shopping companies out there and some of them are very very good if this type of work is of interest to you, they pay well and pay quickly (some within days). Amber Arch do not pay well and have the lengthiest delays in payment of any company ive ever encountered.
I am still awaiting payment for work done in December, my legal documentation ready in the wings should they miss their 8 week payment deadline. That's right, 8 weeks for payment, disgraceful.
Thankfully i found out early on how bad they are, so unless you want to be spoken to like a child and treated like a liar, please avoid this organisation!
I do not recommend this company for anyone wanting to become a mystery shopper, the pay is poor for the large reports that are expected, the written reports can take over 2 hours, the office staffs understanding is terrible and their payment cycle is one of the slowest. Please do yourself a favour and avoid working for them.
I would give no stars if possible. There are much more trustworthy mystery shopping companies out there. Amber Arch pay very little, expect way too much and are very devious. Do not deserve any assignments, shoppers in my opinion.
I can understand why people do not rate this company very much they want to much for the money you get paid . Unless you have a lot of time to waste for not much money dont bother . Wish I had read reviews first
I am an experienced mystery shopper with many different companies. Some pay in days, most within a month BUT Amber Arch take two months if they bother to pay you at all.
They need essay length answers for the simplest of questions, so it can take two hours to complete a report that should only take 20 minutes.
Accuracy from their office is, surprisingly, low in calibre and they have had me call a company to assess someone who left weeks before the project started.
Don't give in on mystery shopping, it is a very interesting job, but just give in with these jokers as they are the bad apples that spoil the whole field of this vocation..
A wide variety of assignments and any issues are resolved relatively quick. Would overall recommend.
Very easy company to work with although they have high standards and you have to be a VERY good mystery shopper for them to be satisfied
Amber Arch take forever to pay and are stingy. I once mystery shopped for a luxury brand, gave them a detailed report. But they raised an objection and did not process my report. In short they did not pay me. They did not had the courtesy to pay me half the amount of fee. I wont recommend this company to anyone.
Take six weeks to pay - none of the other eleven agencies I work for take anything like this long so they are sitting on funds.
The lengthiest of all reports and for the minimum pay. Most agencies require a yes/no and brief answers. This company are very rude and demand a War and Peace epic for each narrative. They can't spell and would go mad if we did the same. Twice they sent me the wrong information and I had to correct THEM.
Yep, as someone said. Avoid at all costs. You'd do better finding work elsewhere. This company are on another planet exploiting people who are looking to earn a bob or two.
Briefs can be lengthy but are straightforward. It takes a while to get paid but do always get paid.
I don't know how this awful company gets away with it. They take ages to pay you and have very little kindness, empathy, generosity or compassion for those unlucky enough to do business with them. Their emails can be surly and patronising. Their pay is very poor and they are unethically exploiting those who are desperate for work and money. They treat you like an idiot and have little genuine appreciation for your diligent, conscientious work. An appalling company.
