Great that the product had a discount but did have to wait 2 days before being able to collect. Past purchases are usually available to collect same day. Product was as shown, was louder than expect... See more

Unsure if its nation wide or my local (Westwood Cross) store, but they have either zero training with Consumer rights or are activity ignoring them. I purchased a dehumidifier from them and while it did what you would expect when set to permanent mode, when it was set to come on/off automatically it was not working correctly, took it back into store (26 days since purchase so within initial 30day requirement) and was informed I would have to go to the manufacturer under their warranty. pointed out its under 30days and still covered by consumer rights where they angrily offered an exchange, and told me that I only have 4 days to check if that item is still good, I was puzzled by this and thought they might mean something else, and asked if that was for something else, as repairs or exchanges in the first 30 days give you up to your 30days or 7 days from when you get the item back, whatever is longer, where they told me they don't do that there, and wont accept it back after 4 days and if I bring it back after that its then only covered by manufactures warranty. so by this point they have refused to follow consumer rights once, and told me that anything after 30days can only be done by the manufacturer, this is completely wrong, as consumer rights and manufacturer warranty are not exclusive of one another, and I pointed that out, and they told me point blank, that outside of 30days they don't have any responsibility, and if there are issues its up to me to send it back as they have "been a manager for 20 years and know more than you about this" clearly 20 years as manager, did not teach them good customer services or how consumer rights work, the replacement was no better than the original, so either a bad line or they are not fit for purpose, I wanted to give it a longer test encase it was needing to settle in but after 2 days I did not want to deal with them refusing the return even though that would be illegal I did not want the hassle and took back the exchange, when asked what's wrong with it I explained it was not fit for purpose as it was unable to correctly determine the rooms humidity and then had the fun of them playing 20 questions as "that is not really a good enough reason" and its been opened, I explained that its not that I don't want it, but it does not work as it should, finally after going out back for a bit they came back and decided that its fine to return and ill get my refund. I'm positive should I not known my rights they would have tried to reject the refund, as they were already fishing for reasons with all the questions.
If you go there, make sure you know your rights, it might just be that store, or Argos as a whole but I have no doubt there are people out there who did not know there rights who got fobbed off to manufacturer

I ordered a lifejacket for my granddaughter, aged 7.
The description states Decathlon 50N 25-40kg (£35)
I assumed this is what I would get, but the link takes me to a Decathlon 70N for weight 80kg+ which is what I received and is far too large for a 7 year old.
Wasted journey and another journey to get a refund.

Three items ordered. One item was unavailable until the following week this was too long to wait. I tried to cancel. Lady in shop said she had no idea how to do it I contacted customer service who said I had to wait until it was delivered to shop then seven days after I would get a refund. No use to me at all. Still waiting for refund

Have previously had to return two of the three items I bought before. This was due to faults or damage so I was wary about using Argos again and mostly they don’t have stock of sale items. I was delighted to find a stair gate in the sale and be able to book same day delivery. I used an all4one voucher and it was easy. That’s as good as it gets. It arrived, the delivery and driver were fine - no issues. As soon as I took the product out of the box I saw the frame was warped probably during manufacture and there was no way the gate fastened. Also it was not no drill as advertised and not as described. Not that surprised given the usual quality I had come to expect, I tried to book a return through the app. As the nearest Argos is 16 miles away o tried to book a collection but unable to do so. I had to contact customer support who eventually agreed to collect and refund the stagnate. When I asked about postage £7.95 was told oh yes that too. It was all booked in for today - a 7 hour slot. Then I had auto notification the collection was cancelled and then half an hour ago someone turned up to collect it - lucky I was still home. Anyway I’ve just had the refund notification and they have not processed the postage and packaging as required by law when it’s faulty goods. No wonder the shops are disappearing from high streets don’t know how they are still trading to be honest. When I checked the reviews for the product it is clear from the one stars that this is a known fault in the product but Argos have continued to sell it anyway.
