Esty claims to sell "authentic", handmade items from various countries. When you get the items, you'll find they are made in China. They are cheap knockoffs.

Selling and buying on Etsy is extremely difficult. When we decided to stop selling and stop paying they suspended our account. When trying to purchase as a guest they took our money but wouldn't let us download the product. With an account on suspensiona nd no support to contact it is impossible to contact them DO NOT USE ETSY it's terrible.

Etsy suspended my account for no reason that I can see or find, I tried to appeal this.
What a awful system run by a bunch of morons. Don't bother buying or selling on this platform.

Terrible. It’s literally drop shipping in most cases, and the packages almost never arrive.

Awful customer service from Etsy.

Etsy's support team is utterly incompetent, tickets vanish into a void with no replies for weeks, even on urgent account suspensions or payment disputes. Automated bots spit out generic nonsense that solves nothing, while live chat (when it works) loops you through untrained reps who can't access your account details or escalate issues. After losing thousands in frozen funds and listings due to their negligence, I bailed. Avoid this black hole of incompetence at all costs.

I had a mixed experience using Etsy. The ordering process was easy, but the shipping took longer than the estimated timeframe. Communication with the seller was slower than expected, which made things a bit unclear. The item arrived in the end, but the process could be improved.

Ordered a rug, little did I know I was ordering directly from India, have to wait weeks, now when, I'm expecting delivery, FedEx requesting more information from me descriptions, receipts etc, what a farce...

I purchased dowel rods on Etsy. The order didn’t come so I contacted the seller directly. They assured me time and time again that the item was on its way. I Finally decided to cancel the order and ask for a refund. The seller ghosted me and because I waited more than 100 days to complain to Etsy they refused to help me. NEVER TRUST ETSY. They are rip of artists.

I have just started selling on Etsy, if I could give this 0 Stars I would do it. All my sales get cancelled by Etsy and their customer service acknowledges that it’s their fault but don’t fix the problem. I have contacted customer service 5 times and still no fix. SELLERS AVOID! Etsy do better

I wish I could give Etsy the minus 50 it so deserves. I am so tired of being ripped off by Etsy and its large list of vendors. They break all state and federal laws by stealing money from you weeks before actually mailing the items you sought to purchase, then coming up with worthless excuses for their illegal acts. Etsy needs to be shut down. Carrie Vincent and her Lost City of Lapis are thieves who need to be arrested. And, what is worse, is they claim they refunded you when they never do. They just steal your money and send you nothing.

Etsy has gone downhill over the years... full of sellers that will try to scam you and Etsy will not help. I opened a case and for two weeks support did not do anything. They did however respond less than 24 hours to close my case when I finally decided to dispute the charge with my cc!!! I spent thousands on bud vases that took a month to receive the first batch and another month to receive the second with correct design. DO NOT BUY from LiteSkyscraperStyle!!! His shop says United States but I think he's from London (at least that's what support told me). The shipment came from China. Design was NOTHING like we agreed on the first batch causing the seller to send me a second batch. The packaging was subpar. 20 broken vases in the first batch and 30 in the second. Seller refused to refund me for the broken ones. Demanding that I ship back the first batch plus the 50 BROKEN ones! Somehow with all the evidence I provided and support has full visibility of the messages between seller and buyer, they still could not understand the issue.

Do your research! I wish I did.

ZERO support for the buyers. Never again will I buy from Etsy.

item never received. one reviewer stated they believed the seller was running a scam. i went through the same thing and ETSY IS COMPLIANT WITH THEM DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THEM ETSY AND THEIR SELLERS ARE SCAM SCAM SCASM horrible they are fraudulent with no customer service

Recently, I approached Etsy for some help as I could not - and cannot log in.
I tried resetting my password without any email to reset the password.
I described the problem, and I was asked for a video of the button being pressed and nothing happening!!!
I explained I couldn't provide that, and that it wouldn't help, as I had explained what was, and was not happening. So they said that they would not proceed without a video that would show nothing!
Awful - as a result, I am not shopping with Etsy again after years of being content with Etsy.

Cannot believe waited from 14th February for Ferns what an earth today did I receive two pieces of plastic rubbish absolutely disgusting ..so angry .. wish I could show what I received. Complete joke. Never again will I buy from yourselves.

Etsy is a breeding ground for SCAMS from all over the world. Sellers claim they are located in the USA when in fact you can see the shipping locations and where the orders are being shipped from and processed from. China is a BIG client lying about their locations, one shop said coming from Australia but tracking showed coming and made from Mainland China. Items are NOT what is pictured. Waiting for another item seller's site says they are in Viet Nam, shipping from AR, TN and last update CA, no one knows where the package is or what happened to it. They suggest I call USPS AND look for it myself! Customer Service is useless, would rather tell you everything you already know and argue with you if you are unhappy than to address and resolve problems. Can't be trusted. Unreliable. And no support from Customer Care. Locations are supposed to be stated clearly (a policy of Etsy) but Etsy doesn't even care about this even when brought to their attention that sellers are fraudulent. Etsy is a mess, not what it used to be. Buyers Beware! It's a CON JOB.

I tried to return an item but couldn't as I ordered as a guest rather than as a menber. Every email I sent bounced back to me unable to deliver. No clear instructions in website on how to return an item.
However today (Monday)I managed to message Amy my seller who responded immediately and gave me precise instructions on how to return the product, so a big thank you to Amy for her help

Etsy credit shouldn't be an option

If you purchased something by mistake.

There is an option for etsy credit.

After you fill out the form you have to wait 48 hour for your case to be solved but that's normally the time frame where you can only get etsy credit and not a refund.

You can't even change your request.

I strongly believe this Etsy seller may be running a scam. I paid for an item and waited more than one month, but it never arrived.

When I asked for a refund, the seller (Mr. Husain Nasir) told me that my delivery was “on the way,” but there was still no tracking information or package received.

Please be careful if you are buying from this seller. My experience has been very disappointing. This web side running from pakistan
