Appalling company waited over an hour…
Appalling company waited over an hour from contacting them to when car was given back the driver said he was only a few minutes away in a tunnel( must have been Dartford) avoid these bandits
Hidden parking costs.1hr wait. Dreadful
Terrible service. We arrived an hour early and had to pay extra £15.Then another £6 for the parking( never mentioned before)
On our return we waited 1hour to have our car brought to the pick up point.I called them and I was told the traffic around the airport was very busy (7am Sunday morning!) it wasn’t.. every body else’s who were awaiting cars left long before us. Had to pay another £6 to exit. This service is disgusting and really takes advantage of people. Absolutely you should be ashamed. Full of silly excuses, they must think I fell of a Christmas tree. Hidden costs. Money grabbing shocking service. I’m going to report this dreadful company.
Avoid, avoid, avoid
It honestly would have been a quicker and less stressful experience to use airport park and ride services.
I have used airport meet and greet services many times before and rave about them. On this occasion I didn’t do my research and presumed (wrongly) my experience would be just as easy- it was not.
When booking I provided a drop off time, but missed the fact you had to call when 30 minutes away from the airport. Okay, that’s on me, but not what I’m used to with other providers. Also, what’s the point of providing a drop off time if they don’t use it?? Upon arriving I called (after many, many attempts to get through as they ask you to call a mobile number), to be told it would take 20 minutes for someone to arrive to collect our car. It took them 30 minutes- very stressful watching your plane departure time tick closer and closer. We were then told we had to pay a £6 fee for the car park. This was a hidden fee that was not clear at time of booking.
Our return journey was just as bad. We provided a flight number, presumably so they could track the flight (again, more fool me!). It arrived 10 minutes early, and luckily got through passport control and picked up baggage quite quickly. I called the number provided and they were surprised we were already ready and waiting. Apparently no driver was available and they would need 20 minutes to drop off. Yet again, this took over 30 minutes. The office tried to be helpful by agreeing an easier drop off point as we were waiting, and they even managed to screw that up by not communicating it with the driver. The driver was rude and unapologetic. Oh and this of course cost us another £5 as Heathrow charge you to enter this area.
The beginning and end of my holiday was very stressful thanks to my experience with this company. Hidden fees made them more expensive than expected and their service was incredibly slow.
Also, I booked ‘Indigo Parking’ through Compare Your Parking, and ended up with Kar Parking Heathrow as our service provider. Very confusing- yet another red flag!
First time using this company..it wentSlow to arrive…
First time using this company..it went ok but had to wait 20 minutes for driver to turn up on my departure and 50 minutes when i arrived back in the uk. I thought the benefit of this service was speed and ease but will use an offsite service and bus in the future.
AVOID! Our car was vandalised!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!
We can back from our holiday to find a 3 meter long key scratch down the side of the car, a nearly flat rear tyre and somewhat excess mileage!
After chasing this company for weeks and weeks they eventually admitted fault and have promised to pay for the damage. We have had an independent assessment done valuing the repair at £1200 but this company have offered us a mere £160 and are ignoring our requests to discuss this over the phone.
We get the sense this is not a professional company but a one-man-band with a website & answer machine. Nobody is available to speak on the landline number given on the website and each time we receive an email its from a different name.
Very frustrating!
Dreadful company!
I have parked at various airports throughout the UK, on site, off site and meet and greet, dozens of times. Only on one occasion have I ever provided a time of arrival and had this checked with the service provider whilst en route.
Being conscious of being charged extra for arriving too early, I've always been generous with ETA's to allow for traffic or speedier arrival.
On this occasion for our flight time of 16:35 I was cautious and entered a time from 12.30. I didn't think this would be a problem especially as the website and instructions clearly stated to ring 30 minutes prior to arrival.
I was quite surprised therefore when I took a phone call at 12.00 asking where we were. I advised we'd set off and our ETA would be around 14.30. The person just reiterated to call 30 minutes prior.
When I called at 2.30 (we were delayed by traffic), I was greeted with a somewhat irritated response telling me I was 2 and half hours late - impossible my flight didn't depart for 2 more hours.
I was then advised I would have to pay an additional £20 because all of his drivers had gone home. When I explained I'd paid for a service and expected it, the response was "what do you think we have drivers sitting waiting", the obvious response would be yes, you're supposed to be offering a meet and greet service. After more conversation getting nowhere with me advising this was blackmail, he decided his best response would be to hang up on me.
I called back capitulating to a reduced blackmail fee of £15.
8 minutes later I took a call from the service driver advising me he was waiting to greet us at the airport. Miraculous not only had they found a driver but he must have been an athlete only taking 8 minutes to get to the airport.
Into the car park to be greeted by said driver sheepishly waiting on £15 to be handed over, after he rang the boss to confirm.
He also kindly told me to pay the short stay car park fee which came in at £6 for less than 10 minutes. I will note I'd missed that section in the information so had another £6 to pay on retrieving my car, bringing the additional costs up to £27.
Whilst away I hastily cancelled a further reservation with them which cost me a £20 fee via Compare your parking.
The lesson here is to stick with what you know and book through Holiday Extras who I've used without issue and go for the better brands.
The big lesson and warning to all is do not book any car parking with Kar Parking Heathrow, they are an absolute rip off and money making racket with very rude and unhelpful staff. The additional stress is not worth any level of apparent initial savings.
Clearly this was posted after I got my car back as I was genuinely concerned they would have done something to it if I'd had posted earlier.
Stressful service and more costly than…
Stressful service and more costly than advertised!
Called the company 30 mins before arrival as per instructions! It took them 1 hour 15 minutes to turn up. No calls to advise that they were late so I had to chase them! They said there was traffic (ironic that a company whose job is the collection of cars cannot manage the traffic for a relatively short journey ... they should at least warn you when you first call them that they may be late) and they'd be there in 10 minutes .... they said that 4 times. This time ate into check in time and increased stress levels just before our holiday!
Then I was told that you have to pay the short term parking tickets and to add insult to injury I had to pay £12.70 instead of £6 because they were late. The guy just shrugged his shoulders and walked off!
I wrote to the email address provided and 6 days later they sent an email back saying they were not responsible for airport parking charges despite the fact that they stipulate that you have to drop your car off in short term parking. Please factor in an extra £12 (minimum) to any quotes they give you ... or more importantly don't use them!!
