I’m a legacy Quicken user since the early 1990s. I hate the fact that you have moved to a subscription-based service that requires annual payments to manage my personal finances. I love the product, b... See more

Quicken is affordable and appears to be the best personal finance system out there. But Quicken does not have the power I would like in an accounting system. As a CPA(non-practicing) I was hoping to... See more

I use Quicken for my personal check book management and like it very much; however most of Quicken’s bells and whistles are wasted on me. A simple and less expensive plan would work better for me.

The program imports data into the wrong account, I spend a lot of time trying to figure out where the data should go. It's a difficult program to learn, it has taken me a long time to learn the basics. I gave it a higher star than a 3 because it's powerful program and suited for someone who has a good grasp of checks and balances.

Can’t Imagine Life Without Quicken

I’ve been using Quicken for so long that I’d be lost without it. I log on daily to check on my investments, make sure my retirement accounts are doing ok, check my budget numbers, and of course pay my bills. Can’t imagine my financial life without Quicken.

Managing my checkbook and accounts.

I like it for managing my checkbook and financial accounts ONLY. Have been using it since 1997. I dislike having to renew it annually now because you cut off the transfer feature on my accounts/checkbook when I stopped. I just want the basic program and not your exotic features you think someone might want. Split the program up and offer a Basis version with price to match and not what I have to pay now to renew.

I down graded to Deluxe from Premier because the Morningstar portfolio X-ray tool...sucked. It listed 60% of my portfolio as unclassified. I've been using Quicken for as long as it's been in existence, shame on you for putting out a product at a really premium price that doesn't work.

I enjoy using Quicken for spending and investment tracking. However, I have noticed that on the investment aspect, after download, it still shows investments i still don't own. The interface between Quicken and my investment platform is not perfect apparently.

user experience

Just learned that Quickens web connect method of downloading bank transactions, will store user ids and passwords on their servers, and, routinely accesses bank accounts at their will, not just when the owner/ user initiates access for downloads!!! My credit union recently changed to this method, and the other quicken download option,( that would use my credentials stored on my computer in the 'vault' ) is not an option . So matter what Quicken claims about security, we know of that other so called secure systems have been hacked, and user data exposed ! And what on earth reason do they have for accessing my account at their will, without my knowledge?! (I know this, because I get email alerts from my bank that my account was 'succesfully accessed' , every few days!! ) Generally, I have used and like Quicken for managing bank and credit card accounts for years. But this is terrible. This is a deal breaker for me. Re other features, that I continue to use , the negatives are reports have ALWAYS been not easy to use to get what I want, and formatting to print out in the way that is useful to me is poor. Overall, a very useful prog that helps keep track of credit card and bank accounts .
