I’m a legacy Quicken user since the early 1990s. I hate the fact that you have moved to a subscription-based service that requires annual payments to manage my personal finances. I love the product, b... See more

Help is not that good
Help is not that good. Can't find a way to make the reminders stay on the screen at the bottom. Can't find a way to reset the default date when entering rent.

You erased the memo field! That deleted all my notes! Less than 10% of us getting up

Love the fact that all accounts and all companies are in the same place. The software still has glitches as it loses transaction or doesn't record them. Must do over work to make sure I don't miss anything
Works good
Works good. Have not had a good experience when attempting to update from bank ledger into Quicken.

**Stars – Not as “simple” as the name suggests!
LIKES: 1) “Projected Cash Flow” line chart 2) Customizable Categories 3) Edit/Dismiss recorded future expenses 4) Tick selected cleared transactions for a specific total.
DISLIKES: 1) Too complex for my needs 2) Didn’t link it to my bank for auto transactions 3) Don’t know how to delete previous “Payee” names no longer used 4) Can’t delete/rename “Categories” 5) Can’t delete listed “Tags” no longer used 6) Can’t read others’ reviews here ;(
I've used Quicken since it was Quicken for DOS
I've used Quicken since it was Quicken for DOS. It's my one stop shopping for all my financial accounts (except I do not use it for stocks) I can easily view, download, and reconcile all my checking, saving and credit card accounts, and search for past purchases in a few clicks. Don't know what I'd do without it.
Stable platform that meets my needs

Luis understood the issue instantly and amended contract to reflect better pricing reflective of past costs. Super helpful.
Keep up with the times
I need a version that works with Linux. And I need better connections to work with two-step verification.
Program keeps crashing
Program keeps crashing when I try to start it. Sometimes it takes a dozen times to get it to run. Sometimes it crashes on initiating a one-step update. I've contacted Quicken, but no one there has been able to fix my problem. This is the only program I have problems with. Once it starts, it works well. I use it every day.
I don’t understand why
I don’t understand why when I open Quicken I have to search for my file I just backed up the previous day. It does not automatically come up.
The biggest problem I have right now is…
The biggest problem I have right now is with some transaction categories being changed when downloading from my bank. I use the pharmacy at my grocery store. I have a system whereby I pay for prescriptions with my credit card and groceries with my debit card. For many transactions of either type, the categories are changed to the incorrect category requiring more investigation (read, extra work). Suspecting that memorized transactions were the source of the problem, I made sure that I didn't create the problem by memorizing an incorrect category. Nothing I do fixes the issue. Not sure if the problem is with Quicken or Chase Bank.
In general I'm mostly satisfied with the software
In general I'm mostly satisfied with Quicken. I have been using it for 35 years. But there are a couple of inconsistencies that annoy me. After I have downloaded transactions, some accounts reconcile automatically and others have to be reconciled manually. Not a big deal, but I get the feeling that after Quicken was sold off, the new owners are just sitting back and collecting the income with little attention to issues with the software. In addition, the price keeps escalating without any noticeable change in the software. I gave Quicken a 3 star rating hoping someone will read this.
