Had a hell of an experience
Had a hell of an experience. Having car insurance cancelled with no prior warning, for an issue beyond our control due to inconsistency and lack of information from carpenters claims, after a low impact rtc of which we are disputing. Due to my ailments which kept me in hospital. It put unnecessary stress on me and my family. Then just to get insurance sorted until this is is sorted, can only be classed as distressing!! Absolutely disgusted!

Easy to use
I always check out several comparison sites for home and car insurance. Renewal quotes are often inflated and my home insurance renewal quote was 25% more than last year. Swinton was much cheaper and although I am not very computer savvy, I found it easy to sort out my policy. I don't know how good they are when making a claim, and I don't want to find out.

Don't do it!
I used Swinton for home insurance, simply because they bought out my local, independent brokers. I wouldn't recommend Swinton at all. I have no idea how they have so many good reviews (actually, I can guess). They've jumped on the automation bandwagon and thrown customer service, experience and satisfaction out of the window. When there are issues (which there inevitably are), calls are sent to a call centre in South Africa. The call handlers are usually lovely and trying to do their best but they haven't been equipped for anything other than reading a script or sending a Teams message to a manager that never rings back. Brokers are supposed to make our lives easier - that's what they're paid to do through commission - but Swinton sadly do the opposite. To add insult to injury, their renewal quotes do nothing but increase year on year - this year's was £220 more than I subsequently found with another national broker for better coverage.
