Shocking customer service

No internet for four days now. No response in chat ,twitter, no updates on the outage. Avoid these jokers, no customer service on the weekends, they're a 9-5 weekday company. There ok when things work but once it goes pear shape they disappear in to the ether.

Hi Dave,

Our engineers sent out an update yesterday evening which explained a faulty repeater had been replaced. As per our twitter conversation yesterday, we believe you have factory reset your router and this is why you have been unable to connect. Unfortunately, this is not something we can fix via live chat or twitter and you will need to raise a support ticket by either emailing support@vispa.net or calling 0330 088 5800.

Once you contact us, our support team will happily talk you through re-setting up your router.

Kind Regards,

Vispa

Excellent attention to detail

Very pleased with a slightly none conventional install due to my house not having line of sight to the mast. The staff were extremely courteous and the install exceeded my expectations. So far the service seems excellent.

No complaints

So glad I chose Vispa!
The support given by my previous supplier was nothing more than shocking. Asking me to do things over and over again. Almost robotic.
Vispa were a breath of fresh air. Each time I've called, for any reason, they've been understanding and helpful.

Just wish I'd heard of them sooner!

Bigger isn't always better, and I love the fact that I'm not passed from pillar to post. I've spoken with the same person for help with anything I've needed to call about.

And when their support isn't there I've emailed them (something my last supplier never offered either).

Thank you Vispa!

wait and see

the installation took ages to complete and the monthly cost was much higher than was quoted earlier in the year. Hopefully the internet speed and connection will be better than the service received so far.

Hi Stephen,

I've just had a look on our system and I can see the installation took longer to arrange and cost more than expected due to the work involved. Our engineer was booked out for the full day as it wasn't a regular install that could be completed in two hours.

In terms of the monthly price, there is no increase. It remains at the advertised price of £29.95.

Avoid like the plague

Here is my experience with this so called ISP.

Having moved to an area with limited BT fibre, this seemed like a good option for me and my business. They offered 60mb/10mb for a £49 month fee with £150 installation.

I supplied my card details on the Thursday, thinking that was that and as i was in the coverage area I'd be up and running within a week or so.

Sadly this didnt happen. Instead I heard nothing from them the following week. When i first contacted i was told yes i was in the area, should be good line of sight and an engineer would be booked and I'd defintely get a call.

Days passed and no call. I called them again and a gentleman called kyle informed me he would try book the engineer for saturday and call me back to confirm. This didnt happen.

I called again and spoke to rudely abrupt manager who informed me they were waiting for more interest in my area before installing. When questioned that i was directly inside the main green coverage area they said they like to wait for a few installations first.

When i asked them how long before im installed as they advestise in several places 5 working days to 14 days at most, no date could be given nor guarantee that it would be installed.

This company is in shambles... its led by an unreachable director and has provided absolutely nothing for my business but hassle. I would remove all association between this company and Connecting Cheshire or any tax payer funded projects.

Hi Peter,

We can see you signed up on the 20th October 2016 therefore, it has only been 6 working days.

As clearly displayed on our website "Our installation lead time is typically 10-14 working days from order. If there's an earlier installation slot, we'll give you a call."

Our scheduling team works very hard to ensure that all customer installations take place within the advertised time span. As we have not yet allocated the job, we are unable to specify a date or time so our support team has little or no information to give you in the meantime.

Once the appointment is booked and our engineer arrives, he will carry out a line of sight survey and inform you if we will be able to install & guarantee a service or not. Obviously, with wireless technology, buildings and trees can affect the signal and there is no way to for us to pre-determine if you will receive a signal or not until we arrive. Having said that, we have other customers connected in your vicinity so there's a very good chance you will receive service.

Should you wish to contact the directors or make a complaint, you can do so by emailing complaints@vispa.net (as clearly displayed on our website and ofcom code of practice).

Finally, for the avoidance of doubt, Connecting Cheshire are not involved in any of our Warrington network builds and the projects are funded solely by Vispa and not the tax payer.

Kind Regards,

Vispa

Awful

Not fit for use. Internet has been down more than 10 times since we joined a month ago, sometimes for days on end. As the company's phone support is only from 9-5 i've had to finish work early on several occasions to return home and apply a reset. The reliability is beyond a joke. The increased Internet power is dwarfed by the massive inconsistency of when it decides to work.

Hi Alex,

Firstly, please accept our applogies for your problems you are experiencing.

I have had a look into your account and can't see any support tickets which relate to your issues. I can see your router is indeed disconnecting and I believe the idle timeout setting is incorrect which is causing the disconnections. If you log into your account portal, you can view the logs and you will see "User Request". This indicates that your router is requesting to disconnect from our network.

Our support team will be happy to take a look at this for you.

Outside of office hours, you can contact us 24/7 by emailing support@vispa.net or starting a live chat from our website.

I have opened a support ticket and you will receive a reply later today.

Regards,

Vispa

Connected yesterday!

We've moved to a rural location where BT offered a measly 2mbs speed...we signed up with Vispa, who were very helpful in getting things sorted, and we were connected up yesterday. The speed is now 30mbs, which is perfect.
Vispa are a small company, and it has been a pleasure to talk to the same person each time when setting things up.

Very happy customer!

I recently migrated my BT infinity line to Vispa after numerous problems which BT simply didnt want to resolve.

After migrating the line, the team at Vispa (which seems to be a handful of people) quickly raised the fault and identified the issue. Finally after six months of terrible broadband, Vispa resolved it within a week.

Some might argue it's a couple of pounds more expensive than the likes of BT Talk Talk or Sky but in my opinion it's well worth it. My speeds have been constant at 62Mbps and my downloads seem to be truly unlimited with no filtering or blocking of certain traffic.

All in all, a very happy customer and would highly recommend Vispa.

Very Impressed

When we were moving house to South Manchester I never thought for one minute that we would struggle to get good broadband speeds as having been with Virgin with fibre optic at our other house.
However as we couldn't get fibre optic in our new house we decided to go with BT Infinity as we thought at the time that was the only other way that we could get faster speeds.
The speeds we got were ok but at peak times we still struggled to watch play back TV on our smart TV and the service we got from BT was terrible, so it was time to find another supplier as we were coming to the end of our contract.
We came upon Vispa from a neighbour, so we did some research first by looking at reviews and the speeds promised on the website and thought it can't be any slower than BT Infinity.
Once we decided it was so easy to proceed as you fill in the form on line with all your details and once that's done the company notify you to say it's been completed and gives you an installation date.
Installation is done very quickly and without any mess and then you are ready to go.
We are now very happy as we are getting great speeds with Citywireless, it remains stable and doesn't appear to dip at peak times and we can watch our play back programmes without it slowing down or freezing.
The biggest bonus is that we no longer have to pay for a line rental that we hardly used, so a huge saving.
Very happy that we ditched BT and are now with Vispa :)

Excellent service

All positives for me, brilliant no messing service from everyone at Vispa, love my super fast catch up, not in to games but guessing speed is good for those too, my son confirms and a thumbs up from him. In fact not technical at all but can't fault what I get with Vispa and the support from them if I do have a problem, which thankfully isn't often, thanks Vispa

Freedom from BT - Thank you Vispa Wireless Broadband

Even though I live in suburban Manchester (just on the border of Sale); I'm miles from the nearest Exchange. ADSL offers about 2-3Mb/s; its dire at peak times probably due to over-subscription. Even Fibre (FTTC) only offers about 15Mb/s at the best of times.

I noticed a few houses on my estate had what looked like a WiFi paddle mounted on the roof... When I enquired, I was delighted to find out that Citi Wireless was available in my area through Vispa.

I looked on Vispa's website and the home Wireless Broadband pricing is very reasonable considering you don't have to pay the BT line rental (I just use my mobile, I have no need for a land line).

I read a few reviews about Vispa back in 2014; I was a bit put-off, so I decided to go for Fibre instead. A year later, fed-up with the pretty lame BT Fibre service in my area (it goes down & slows down quite a lot) I decided to go for a Vispa Citi Wireless "SoHo" connection.

All I can say is - I WISH I'd had it installed sooner - it has truly been fantastic. I guess the problem with review sites is that people don't tend to leave feedback if everything is working great; just when it's not.

I work from home full time providing remote IT support, so my internet connection is mission critical. I can honestly say the Vispa connection has been rock-solid reliable and I don't notice a slow-down at peak hours.

There have literally only been 2 very brief outages since I subscribed at the beginning of 2015. The cherry on the pie is: the Vispa upload speed is faster than the download speed I was getting on BT Fibre :o)

Their engineers provide a really good service and it's nice to see the MD is actually a techie at heart and gets his hands dirty on the installs / upgrades too :o)

Given there is no BT line rental to pay - I'd say it's a no brainier if you're on their Citi Wireless coverage area.

Warrington no Fiber...

Having moved into a new build house with no fibre, only a slow 3mb adsl connection, I searched a over for an alternative. Having looked at satellite broadband I was put off by the slow ping times.

I then managed to find out about vispa, who sent out an engineer (free of charge) to assess if the could get line of sight back to there tower, sure enough they could.

I've had vispa for around 8 weeks now and get upload and download speeds of around 40-45mb, not dropped connection once.

Would highly recommend.

Very impressed

Finally solved having a slow internet connection. No more BT line based solution. We've moved to a Wireless connection with Vispa and have gone from 12mbps down and 1mbps up (the most the line could do) to ~100mbps each way ! I think I'm maxing out the router though :-) Anyway, very efficient and friendly service. Installed with no fuss and I'm left impressed.

Helpful support, no complaints

I've been a customer since August and haven't had any issues at all. I called today to change my package to one of their new unlimited ones and it was actioned within minutes. They couldn't help me enough which is always good when it comes to ISP :)

So far so good

I have had vispa's wireless broadband now for coming up to six weeks. Previously I had a 512k service from bt and was unable to have anything faster. Once I signed up, I was told that there would be a delay or two to three weeks apparently due to a back log of orders. Sure enough, I received a call a couple of weeks later and I was finally installed over the weekend.

Apart from the short delay which I accepted, I'm more than happy with the service. I now get a pretty reliable 30 mb. There have been one or blips where the router has rebooted (could be my setting) but overall its an excellent service.

Small is better, great company

Living in a rural area, my broadband has always been sub 2Mbps. Vispa came along and enabled the village for superfast wireless broadband and I now receive 40Mbps. Great company, seem to be a small outfit, friendly & helpful.
