Very happy with Knownhost

After leaving one of the "big guys" and trying out a few others, I came across Knownhost almost a year ago and couldn't be happier. Transferring and setting up my websites here was so easy and trouble-free - a complete change from past experiences. The couple times I had questions, they helped me through it quickly. And, domain privacy is included free on all my domains - something the other guys charged for. Their shared hosting and domain fees are all very reasonable, and I'd be happy to recommend Knownhost to anybody.

KnownHost is one of the best website hosts

KnownHost do not have telephone support and one of their billing reps occasionally makes mistakes, but they are responsive, competent and helpful, which is very important during the initial stages of migrating your website and domain registration to them. They use NameSilo as their domain registrar, which has a user-friendly control panel and several other advantages. Their e-mail support is very fast. You will receive an initial e-mail a few minutes after creating a new ticket on their website. When an issue arises that a rep cannot handle it is escalated to the team leader and even to one of the senior managers. One of the latter, Jonathan K., is very professional. Overall, KnownHost is better than all the other hosting companies I have been with. It is highly recommended.

Great Managed VPS Services

I have been hosting a VPS with KnownHost since 2017, using their managed service, and it's been an amazing experience. First of all, virtually no downtime in all of those years. Secondly, any time I have contacted support I have gotten such quick responses and a high quality of support. Their support staff are very helpful and have gone above and beyond for me. I highly recommend KnownHost if you're looking for a managed VPS service. Having someone available 24/7 is really worth it for me and have saved me several times over.

Overall, for the type of product and market that they offer, KH offer a great service. Top-notch assistance and service

I have been a Knownhost customer since 2020, first with a VPS and now with a reseller plan. I have used various hosting services for almost 30 years, and Knownhost is one of the best providers I have ever used. The technical support is impressive, always responding to any question within minutes, the uptime is very good, and when there has occasionally been a problem, they have been completely transparent. What I value most about them is the peace of mind I have that everything always works correctly.

My old host nickel

My old host nickel, and dimed me for every ‘extra.’ KnownHost gave me free SSL, backups, and even helped optimize my database. Felt like finding a unicorn.

Accused of criminal activity and fraud.

I placed a simple $3 dollar order with them, expecting a smooth setup like I’ve had with other hosting providers. Instead, my order was flagged for review, and they demanded a scan of my ID and a copy of part of my debit card.

This was completely unnecessary, considering I provided accurate information and have used multiple shared hosting providers without having this issue.

They also insinuated that I might be using their service for something against their "Acceptable Usage Policy". If you want to be accused of doing something illegal just because their fraud detection system got it wrong, go for it.

No reputable hosting provider should treat paying customers like potential criminals over a $3 shared hosting plan. I immediately requested a refund. I refuse to do business with a company that treats its customers like criminals.

Solid pricing and solid support.

Solid pricing, solid support, and privately owned. Most hosting companies are owned by investment groups that only care about money. KnownHost is one of the few remaining great hosting companies available.

Horrible Experience with KnownHost - Avoid at All Costs!

I’ve had nothing but issues with KnownHost since they transitioned from Host-Asset to their current name. My experience has been a complete nightmare, and I strongly advise anyone considering them to stay away.
1 -Terrible Customer Support
Their support team is incredibly unhelpful. Whenever I reached out for help, I was met with dismissive responses and no real solutions. It’s clear they care more about their bottom line than actually helping their customers.
2 -Deceptive Pricing Practices
When they transitioned from Host-Asset to KnownHost, they suddenly increased the renewal prices without any prior warning. What was once a fixed, reasonable price became an absurdly high renewal fee. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch,
3 -Unjust Account Suspension
The final straw was when they suspended my account without any valid reason. They claimed I was sending spam emails, which was completely false. Upon investigating, I found that an injected file in my root directory—where I had nothing but a blank index file—was to blame. Instead of giving me time to fix the issue, they shut down my account in less than 12 hours! Not only that, but they attempted to close down my other domains, despite them being on separate invoices. This was outrageous and totally unacceptable.
4- Blame-Shifting and No Accountability
They refused to take responsibility for the issue, trying to pin the blame on me, despite the fact that the problem originated from a security vulnerability on their end. This lack of professionalism and accountability is simply unacceptable from a hosting provider.

Because of this, I’ve decided to move all six of my domains to a new hosting service. I wouldn’t recommend KnownHost to anyone. They’re untrustworthy, unprofessional, and only seem interested in taking advantage of their customers. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for hosting!

Customer Service reply was too quick and resolved within 30 minutes. Kudos to their Customer Service! Switching from A2 Hosting to KNOWNHOST with a new reseller 3 year plan. I won't have to overcharge my webhosting customers annually. Sleep well at night...
