Thorough job, AND went the extra mile

Wanting to support tradeswomen and a female co-founded company I booked an annual gas safety check via TaskHer recently and had a great experience.

The tradeswoman who turned up went the extra mile and fixed the external carbon monoxide pipe which had been fitted incorrectly in the first place and did a thorough job of opening up the boiler to certify it (the guy who installed and did the previous TWO safety checks had done a shoddy, surface level job which could have ended in disaster)

I also appreciated how easy it was to put in a request, especially using the AI to frame my ask and have the right options presented (I also needed the gas hob replaced)

4 stars because the in-platform communication needs improving so it's more seamless

Thank you to Erin!

This was my third time using TaskHer, this time for an issue with the lights in my living room/kitchen in my flat. Erin has been fantastic, re-attending when the first thing that she fixed resolved one issue but not another, and I am so pleased to finally have fully working lights! Brilliant electrician

For several years, we had an intermittent fault with the lighting circuit where it would go off and couldn't be turned back on for a few hours. I previously had about 3 electricians in (not from Taskher) and none of them could diagnose or fix the problem.
Erin from Taskher came to do an EICR, and when I told her about the problem she straight away diagnosed the problem (moisture getting in to the back outside light). She came back on another visit, replaced the light and made sure it was secure from rain getting in.

Hallway decoration

I booked to have my hallway decorated and appreciated the option for an initial meeting with Ilknur my decorator to discuss what I wanted, how long it would take and what was needed to complete the job.

Ilknur took great pride in her work and was extremely thorough in the preparation and painting of my hallway and I am extremely pleased with the end result.

Chandeliers/Wall Lights

I recently used Task Her to have some fancy ceiling, wall lights, sockets & plugs fitted. Jayne arrived on time, and was super efficient, tidy and friendly. She worked really well, and each step of the way, explained she may need to cut the power, or if things might take a little longer (completely my fault, as I bought chandeliers that had to be put together). I would definitely use Jayne & Task Her again, as everything rang smoothly, and my lights look fabulous.

Almost fell of my chair....

Just been quoted £3900 for painting about 60 square metres of a residential property that is unoccupied, unfurnished, and without floors to protect. No skirting, door frames or window sills to be painted. Just white walls and ceilings to be painted white, with the paint supplied by ourselves.
13 days or 104 hours (I can only assume that it's an 8-hour working day?) to paint white walls and ceilings white. No furniture to move around or protect. No floors to cover. Nothing to tidy up. Unless windows would be splattered with paint?
1 day or 250 quid to paint the bathroom - so 8 eight hours (?) estimated to paint a tiled room measuring 1.67 x 2 metres, without knowing how much tile-free wall surface is going to be there actually. But hey, let's put a day down for it. Or eight hours.
I reached out to this platform hoping that we will be proceeding, but with a quote like this, there's no way...Really disappointed. I wasn't planning to reflect on this but then I had a look at the quote again and simply had to...

The quote you received was provided free of charge, based on the information submitted in your online request. Our estimates are informed by hundreds of hours of completed painting and decorating work, and are set in line with current market rates and ensure tradeswomen are paid a fair rate of pay for the work and skill they bring to the job.

As explained at the time, the next stage would have been a free in person Estimate Check. This allows the painter decorator to assess the condition of the walls, check any details that may not be clear online, such as existing finishes or tiling, and confirm whether the estimate is accurate before any work is agreed or booked.

You were under no obligation to proceed if the estimate did not suit your budget. However, leaving a negative review based solely on price, without having used the service, does not reflect the experience we provide to customers who do go ahead with a booking.

Efficient and helpful electrician

Rose the electrician came to fix two wall sockets, where one was in a tight utility cupboard (and we were not able to move the washing machine). She brought replacement sockets which fit perfectly and also backup screws which we had to use. No issues with parking in a busy London area and very tidy and clean when entering my flat. Everything done within the quoted hour and I thought the pricing was reasonable. Will be back for more jobs!

Sharon did an amazing job

Sharon did an amazing job! I had three rooms painted, one of which was covering up a dark colour. Sharon and her apprentice Kit were brilliant, the end result is stunning and they were so lovely to have in my home for a week.
I felt very comfortable leaving my keys with them and my cat didn't spend a whole week in hiding like he normally would with other tradespeople.

Super simple and reliable!

We recently used TaskHer to fix an issue with our downstairs toilet which wasn’t flushing properly. We got in touch with TaskHer and found the booking process super simple and straight forward.

We were connected with Nadine who communicated really well throughout the whole process, was on time and reliable and talked us through exactly what the issue was and how she’d repair it.

Overall, the process was really easy and turned a situation that would usually be quite frustrating and unreliable into a process that was a pleasure from end to end.

Great customer service and tradeswomen

I used Taskher for a leaking shower and found the whole process from start to finish really easy.
The booking was simple and when I had my appointment the tradeswoman arrived on time and solved the issue effectively. As a single mum I would defo recommend to anyone who feels uncomfortable with male tradesman in their home.

Baxi boiler? Don’t waste your money – go straight to Baxi!

I originally left a 2‑star review, mainly because the engineer who attended was personally very kind and polite. I have now changed this to 1 star because, after the follow‑up correspondence, I don’t feel my concerns were really listened to or taken seriously.

This was my first time using TaskHer. I asked for a Baxi specialist for my small Baxi 200 boiler and sent all the fault codes in advance. The engineer was friendly, but the visit itself was very basic: roughly 15 minutes to open the boiler, look inside and clean the electrodes, no diagnostic equipment connected, and I was told it “might be the electrodes or might be the PCB”. The same error codes came back about 30 minutes after she left.

An official Baxi engineer later spent around an hour running proper diagnostics with a Baxi unit and then about another hour replacing multiple parts under their fixed‑fee repair. That experience showed me the original visit was not a comparable diagnostic, despite my being told I was booking a Baxi‑trained specialist. TaskHer only applied a small first‑time discount, so I ended up paying £114.74 for what felt like very poor value and an unprofessional level of diagnosis.

I paid their invoice in full and never refused to pay; my issue is that, for a £126 “top tier” diagnostic visit, what I actually received was a very brief, basic check that left me with the same uncertainty and the same fault codes returning shortly afterwards. I’d had quotes of £80–£90 from other firms and chose TaskHer because they present themselves as a premium, specialist service supporting tradeswomen, so my expectations were higher. Having since seen what a full Baxi diagnostic looks like, and having experienced follow‑up emails where my disappointment was effectively dismissed, I don’t feel either the service or the customer care matched the price.

I really want to support women tradespeople and still like the idea behind TaskHer, but based on this experience I’d go straight to Baxi next time for a proper diagnostic, solution and professional service. (For clarity: I have no affiliation with Baxi – this was simply my first time dealing with boiler issues, and it turned into an expensive lesson.)

The TaskHer engineer who attended your property has 20 years experience as a gas engineer, has completed Baxi training courses and worked on innumerable Baxi boilers in her time. She bought with her the standard diagnostic equipment any qualified gas engineer would carry with them and she used those to correctly identify the faults with the boiler. You’ve confirmed via email that this was the same conclusion Baxi reached with their “Baxi unit”. 



To clarify: Our engineer used a number of diagnostic tools including a multimeter to assess your boiler.

Whilst at your property the engineer called Baxi to clarify something with them. During the phone call Baxi advised her they offered a fix priced repair service and so she suggested to you that it would likely be the most cost effective route moving forwards. 


In our view this was an example of excellent, transparent customer service.

Rather than TaskHer’s engineer sourcing aftermarket parts and incurring you costs based on an hourly rate, she advised you the manufacturer would cap the labour costs and provide parts at a reduced price. 



To clarify: Our engineer was well within her rights to keep this information to herself and continue to charge you an hourly rate and parts at market rates which would have been more costly to you.



She chose to do correct and transparent thing and passed the information on to you.

Having reviewed your booking we concluded that the engineer has provided a professional service, used her extensive training to correctly diagnose the faults, and upheld the excellent customer service standards we expect from tradeswomen who work with TaskHer.

She is fully entitled to be compensated for her time, and this is why we required you to pay for the work she completed.

Had to pay £88 for them to look at the job.

Taskher charge me £88.74 pound JUST TO LOOK AT THE JOB It would have been £118.74 pounds

If you don't know how long the job will take and the website page Taskher won't let you put in your actual job even if you put it in to the notes what you actually want because they came round on the 7th of January looked at the job the electrician said they gonna book it in, I waited 9 days electrician didn't book it back in, so I thought they didn't want to do it because the job looked too hard so on the 16th of January I cancelled the job so I could find another electrician elsewhere.

So if you don't know what you're doing, better going somewhere else so you can get a Free Quote

And now I'm 88 pounds short to get the job actually done

Dear Stacie,

You initially booked a socket repair job with one of our electricians, as our website states this job would involve a visit of up to an hour to investigate a faulty socket. The actual work list included reinstalling 5 sockets and adding trunking to a room. When the electrician arrived she assessed your electrical installation and found that as a circuit had been removed -that conduit, not trunking, would be required. She informed you that owing to her schedule and the change in works required she wouldn't have time to complete the work that day and would need to return. After she had left you cancelled the job, it was assumed this was because you didn't want her to complete the work.

The first stage of our booking process gives you the option to request a free quote rather than book online, which is designed to be used in cases like this when the work required is more complex. You chose to book.

Whilst we appreciate that you were still charged for her visit this reflects the fact she had attended the property, used her considerable experience to identify the true nature of the work needed and turned down other work to be there.
As a gesture of goodwill we agreed to reduce the amount owed, however we stand by our policy that the electrician deserves to be paid for her time.

Great service!

I used TaskHer to find a plumber to fit a new tap and to fix a leak. The customer service was great, and Nadine the plumber arrived less than 24 hours after enquiring with TaskHer. Nadine was really lovely and fixed both jobs in less than an hour. I will definitely be using TaskHer again.
