Hounslow London Borough Council Reviews 120

I recently received a PCN from Hounslow Borough Council, Named Restriction 52M in relation to Hartington Road Chiswick. Apparently HBC feel it is their right to position CCTV to entrap drivers driving or transiting through this road, drivers that would otherwise wait for 10 to 15 minutes in a ques burning fuel polluting the environment while this Hartington Road remains empty of traffic or pedestrians. I pay road tax and insurance to drive my car, why should I be subjected to an additional road tax!! which has netted £Millions for HBC. It's a disgrace, their is no consistency from one local council to another. HBC appear to tax drivers at will, while others for example (Ashford) under Spelthorne totally ignore residents complaints about parking restrictions speeding drivers etc. All these councils are quick to contact residents when it's time to vote, but less so when complaints are made. Contacting the councils is almost impossible, and when possible they are condescending and rude!! they clearly forget who pays their wages....

I don't think "they" want to help in any way shape or form,no matter what your need might be.
The website shows useful phone numbers and beautiful policies etc of what their peaceful and loving intentions are towards the general helpless and vulnerable people but when you actually call you are being deterred from calling back because they do lie a lot and rarely help those they pretend that they help.
I am starting to believe that the only ones benefiting from their existence are the Hounslow Council Employees who get paid.

The workers string out jobs because they can’t be bothered. No care for the tenants that have to wait longer for repairs.
Unprofessional and inappropriate supervision.
Bullying in the work place should be dealt with when reported not just ignored.

Majority of staff seem to be quite a nasty, evil and corrupt bunch in hounslow house, rude, dismissive, condescending, prejudiced, incompetent and full of contradictions.
And in the midst of all the aforementioned they'd rather find amusement in giving people the run around instead of easily just helping those that need it. Of course this is all behind fake smiles and fake "polite" condescending tones.
This might be easier to accept if it were just my personal experience, yet unfortunately as I talk to other people in hounslow and read through all the reviews here on trust pilot 99.9% of the feedback on hounslow council is aligned with the opening statement of this review. In general the staff here at hounslow house/council willingly practice a shameless code of conduct where helping the people of the borough is not at the forefront as long as they can find or make up an excuse for it not to be, as they will be paid regardless.
This place is a disaster that needs to be investigated and rectified.

Woolveridge who recently sadly died was a resident of Danehurst sheltered housing scheme for many years. The undertakers asked me to provide proof she was a resident,??? that came from the council, the council wanted this information, also there has been no message of condolence from them, the council stinks.

Moved into a new property, no bin in the property. Went a purchased a brand new bin from local garden centre. Whilst waiting for the council to arrange a new bin for our property. Refuse waste operatives have refused to collect our household waste for two months now as it hasn't got a marking on the bin saying household council. At what point would you think to yourself that you are doing any good by not collecting household waste. You as our council are legally duty bound to collect waste. This is now an environmental issue.There will always be an excuse or an online form to complete simply because you do not provide what its is you say you actually do as a council.No one cares anymore.

This council got a court judgment against my mother-in-law for some alleged traffic violation, despite the fact that she had been dead for four months. They apparently made no attempt to determine whether she was still alive before going to court, and the first her family knew about it was when we checked on her house and found a "notice of intention to remove property" from a bailiff. I complained to the council asking for an urgent response - over a week later, I received a letter with an illegible signature stating, "You have claimed (your mother-in-law) has passed away; however you have neglected to provide any documentation in support of your claim." Who thinks this is an appropriate thing to say to a bereaved family member?! To top it off, they didn't provide an address to send the death certificate to, despite threatening dire consequences if I didn't send it. So I've had to send it to the general customer service address and hope for the best. Glad I don't live in Hounslow!

By far the worst council around London!!! Totally incompetent, shameless, unqualified, rude staff.Bills taking ages to be sent out, online service barely working, no apologies at all. Then they scream for their money and send bailiffs around without owning up to their failures. Try to complain and they will still blame you. Absolute shambles. Moving out of the borough because of this appalling council.

Really bad service, and pretty difficult to get through to anyone on the phone. I've just made a call and I could hear everyone talking in the office, but no one has responded to me. Also, their website is absolutely appalling and really not user-friendly.

Just want money. Fined in Low traffic road 3 times in 3 days I have been using for 40+years. sign-posts obscured by trees and even the photo they sent, did not show the sign-post. Anti-car, high tax, love money, no quarter.

I had an extremely negative experience with Hounslow Council, as it became evident that their primary concern is making money rather than addressing the needs of the residents. Despite my complaint about a business littering in an industrial estate, their promises of follow-up within 2-3 weeks were empty, with no one contacting me. Even after multiple attempts to reach out, including a month later when they claimed it was a priority, I received no response. It has now been over 6 months, and the lack of responsibility and accountability from the council is unacceptable.

So today in fusilier way there has been a leak where my sister lives. And the council decide to turn all the water supply off? She's disabled and has no water feed at all! Rather than try and find a solution for a disabled lady they decided to take her basic staple human right of having basic needs of water - hey hounslow council when did we become 3rd world without basics living essentials?

Yes we called them and asked they said we cannot help till Monday so now she has nothing at all - this is basic needs HOUNSLOW? Cone on she pays her taxes but you decide not to HELP? Disgusting behaviour

Council should Plant very tall trees along side open roads to shade and keep people cool in cars and prevent heat strokes in Summer prevent heat waves, cars will also use lesser aircon in EV cars thus increase range of EV cars and use less electricity

Very tall type of trees which have only branches and leaves at the top of the trees and only the trunk at the bottom with no leaves

My wife is disabled cars keep parking in front of the front door and parking in front of the side entrance a so my wife is trapped in the house she rang the Council to day they aren't going to do a thing about it they do not care about disabled people as long as you pay your bills on time that's all thay care about had the police out as are lives are being threatened over the parking my wife is scared to be on her own do not want to live hear eny more the Council do not won't to no thinking of not paying eney more bills why should we

I phoned Hounslow Council yesterday morning to advise there was a dead fox near the former Brentford Police station. I spoke to someone for over 10 minutes. I was assured the matter would be dealt with and that someone would phone me to give a job reference number. Nobody phoned me back and the dead fox still hasn't been removed. Disgusting.

Repairs is useless! Report a repair & you will still be waiting 2 months later! Rang 3 times to chase this they want their rent paid on time but don’t want to repair their properties even though as a landlord they have a duty of care! Appalling service.

Scam, poor service, abuse of power, like to take your money for no reason.

The council must provide emergency…
The council must provide emergency housing if they think you might: be legally homeless. meet the immigration conditions. have a priority need because of children, pregnancy, domestic abuse, or anything else that makes you vulnerable or at more risk of harm.
