A year ago, I canceled a payment for an order immediately when I realized the seller was a fraudulent scammer. PayPal PAID IT ANYWAY! Now they want me to cover it. I never received the paid-for produc... See more

Ive been with Paypal for 20 years and was very happy with the service until April 2026 when my pay in 3 account was fraudulently accessed. A company called DB Vertrieb a German company who sells travel tickets was used to purchase tickets using my PayPal Pay in 3 Account. I have been in touch with Paypal but I just cant access the right person to explain what happened all I get is this stupid automated system or some one who is telling me he / she woll sort it out that they never do. Extremely poor service beware of this company as to access my account it must have been an inside job.
Don't trust PayPal
Having proved that several items were never sent by the seller/sender PayPal sided with the seller because the items didn't come under the buyer protection scheme. So we've lost several thousands of pounds even though the items were never sent in the first place. I can't really say what I would like to say because PayPal will happily spend money on a lawyer.
If you are looking for a company which…
If you are looking for a company which will steal your hard earned money then congratulations you are in the right place,,, PayPal mission is to steal people money especially freelancer, all in the name of preventing fraud, I wouldn't recommend this app even to my worst enemy, I'm glad there are other good sources people can receive money nowadays, I heard they are starting a bank, I guess they will start it with the money they stole from innocent people
Do not do business with Paypal
They were very unprofessional and the mistreatment was ridiculous. I paid for a service I never received and when I tried to get my refund back, they lied and said everything was processed correctly and it was found in favor of the company and not with me. Isnt it illegal to require someone to pay for something they never received?
There is a saying…
There is a saying that every insurance policy is the best one until something happens. Well, that fits perfectly for Paypal. They've gone from bad to worse and the downfall doesn't seem to stop. My recent experience with this company was, when by the time Paypal wanted to withdraw funds from my bank account, there was not enough there. I got a notice from them, filled the account with enough credit and waited for them to try to withdraw again. No, didn't happen. Tried to "resolve" the issue for two days on their website, mobile app...doesn't work. Error messages popping up. I'll just wait now to see what their next step will be. Probably they'll charge me extra for not providing enough funds.
Tried paying with my card via PayPal as…
Tried paying with my card via PayPal as I have done for the past 25 years and today it is saying it is unable to verify that I am the owner of the card. This is despite providing the CV2 number and verifying i'm the owner via my bank app. Totally useless.
23 years with PayPal account frozen…
⁹23 years with PayPal account frozen after a conversation regarding a potential new business demanding for documents I dont have. AND refusing to refund a duplicate payment. Going to go to Ombudsman now what a sh@t show. Ive been unwell off work for months too this is adding to my ill health Ive money I need to survive they are holding. Ive called emailed complained they should not have the power to do this!
I would put no stars if I could
I would put no stars if I could. They have a lot of scammers that create fake profile and then PayPal denied about fraudulent charge that happened to me. It took a month of trying to contact a seller that doesn’t exist. They will get out of submitting an obvious fraudulent charge. They seem to help these ppl in the scheme.
BEWARE OF PAYPAL FRAUD
these people are nothing more then fraudsters in 2026, opened a dispute because AliExpress kept refusing my return request only to be denied to thenm have it accepted by a manager which now is over 3 weeks and my one bank returned the money only to have PayPal fraud my secondary account for the same payment which they keep lieing saying they never received a payment they got in March, the fraud PayPal is starting to do is pointless as it will lead to lawsuits and crackdowns as from what PayPal did with Honey is a clear sign PayPal is now actively scamming people not protecting them as they keep claiming
There are moments in life when…
There are moments in life when everything feels completely hopeless. You work hard, save diligently, and invest with the hope of building a better future, only to watch your finances disappear in what seems like an instant. That experience changed me. I spent countless days blaming myself, wondering if there was anything I could have done differently. The emotional burden was even heavier than the financial loss because I sincerely believed the money was gone forever.
Looking back now, I realize that sometimes all you need is the right and well-disguised information at the right moment. When you're overwhelmed, it's easy to believe there are no legitimate options left. Fear, frustration, and misinformation can keep you trapped, making it difficult to know who to trust or what step to take next. If I had continued believing everything I heard, I would have remained in debt and accepted my loss as permanent.
Fortunately, I came across the right guidance when I needed it most. Instead of making another rushed decision, I took time to understand the process and followed professional advice. Through the assistance of 𝑹𝑬𝑺𝑽𝑨𝑿, I was eventually able to recover a significant amount of my finances. That outcome was something I never imagined possible because I had already convinced myself there was no hope.
The journey wasn't instant, and it certainly wasn't stress-free. There were moments when I doubted whether anything would come from it. Patience became one of the hardest lessons I had to learn. I also discovered the importance of staying informed and verifying every piece of information before acting on it. That alone can make a huge difference when dealing with financial setbacks.
This experience has completely changed the way I approach investments and financial decisions. I no longer rush into opportunities simply because they sound attractive. I ask questions, research thoroughly, and make sure I understand every detail before committing my money. Losing funds taught me painful lessons, but it also made me wiser and far more cautious.
If my story can help someone else, I hope it serves as a reminder never to give up too quickly. There may be solutions you haven't discovered yet, and the right information can completely change the direction of your situation. While every case is different and no outcome is guaranteed, it's worth exploring legitimate avenues before accepting defeat.
Today, I feel an overwhelming sense of relief and gratitude. Recovering a substantial portion of what I thought was permanently lost has given me a fresh start and renewed confidence. More importantly, it reminded me that hope should never be abandoned, even when circumstances seem impossible. Sometimes the difference between staying trapped in debt and finding a way forward is simply having access to the right information at the right time.
Paypal rejected my claim without checking their own documents
Paypal rejected my claim stating I handed given them the tracking ID. I had. It's visible in their documents on their site. The item had already been delivered 3 days earlier, all clearly stated in the tracking information.
Yet the just reject the claim.
Update.
PayPal have now opened and rejected my claim 4 times.
Yesterday I spoke to a Complaints Supervisor after spending all morning on the phone queuing.
Everything I connected after half an hour queuing I got cut off.
Finally I spoke to somebody. I sent her the proof she asked for. It showed categorically that Aliexpress had received my parcel 10 days earlier. She reopened my dispute. Promised to personally monitor it.
This morning my Dispute was rejected again because they had not received proof of posting.
That was better than the previous day when they reopened the Dispute and an hour later rejected it.
They are simply playing a game.
They deal with sellers like Aliexpress who lie openly stating lies that I have disproved with receipts.
I am now going to the Financial Ombudsman. Give that a go.
Meantime use PayPal at your own risk
UPDATE!!
I just got a call from Paypal !!! Shock horror.
Basically the Paypal Agent told me that their was nothing they could do. They can see that my parcel is in Chinese Customs awaiting Aliexpress to collect it. But if ALiexpress never do it the Paypal cannot refund me.
What a joke. Aliexpress keep my money having sent me something I never ordered and is worthless.
Paypal just keep giving excuses and they pay nothing.
Result 116 pounds out of the window.
DO NOT TRUST THIS "MAFIA" COMPANY
Wow, what can I say about this disgusting excuse for a company? I have been a loyal member for 2.5 decades. Over the past decade the company and its policies have changed dramatically. They used to always side with the buyer regardless of the situation. As an eBay seller I got screwed many times having photographic proof of the goods I sold to a customer and having them returned used or damaged. Yet they would side with the buyer saying that's their policy. Even though I had 100% positive feedback on ebay. Then as a buyer I've gotten screwed over multiple times over the past few years. I bought a pair of fake sneakers, opened up a dispute and showed that the company advertised a local US store and domestic shipping, yet they shipped the sneakers direct from china. PayPal sided with the seller. Then I place an order online through Facebook and never receive my goods. PayPal had the nerve to ask me for proof of purchase. They literally have my proof of purchase through their website! Why would they need a URL and anything else? I thought it was a seller's job to provide the tracking information for goods received??? Apparently not. Apparently they now side with the seller. I think they do what's convenient for them. And I think there's a lot of inside networking and the people that they know get off scot-free after scamming buyers. The latest scam in PayPal is buying crypto. I do not deal with crypto but needed Bitcoin to make a purchase of a piece of gym equipment overseas. I purchased the Bitcoin within seconds through my account, no problem. When I went to use it to make a purchase i PayPal told me a 3 to 5 day waiting. 10 days go by and it asks me for my biometrics. I have to take a picture of my face and my ID to send bitcoin, but nothing to buy it?? And 10 days later it's telling me it still needs my biometrics? 4 hours and four phone conversations with customer service later I find out that there's a glitch in PayPal system. Not my fault, but I'm the one that gets screwed as Bitcoin loses value and I still can't send it? After a loyal two and a half decades with this company I am 100% done and I highly recommend no one ever endorse this fraudulent company!
The worst experience ever.
The worst experience ever.
PayPal permanently blocked my account with the generic message: “We noticed activity in your account that’s inconsistent with our User Agreement.” No details. No explanation. When I asked what exactly I did wrong, they said they cannot tell me. Seriously? You can block someone forever but can’t explain why?
I did nothing suspicious with my account. Thank God I didn’t keep any money there.
Then I decided to delete my account and remove my personal information — but PayPal refused. They told me they would keep my data for at least 10 years.
After this, I don’t trust PayPal anymore. I just want to leave, but they won’t even let me do that.
Don’t trust this platform with your personal information nor moreover with your money!
Buyer Protection that didn't protect me.
I opened a dispute for an item not as described. The seller literally admitted in writing that they owed me a full refund and that I didn't even need to return the product, and I provided that email as evidence. PayPal still rejected my claim, saying the item "resembled the description". They later offered me a 40 EUR gift voucher to drop the case, which I refused because I wanted protection, not a consolation prize. I had to recover my money through my bank instead. If PayPal won't back you even when the seller admits fault, what is the protection for?
Paypal was great 20 to 25 years go, now is garbage
Paypal was great 20 to 25 years go.
Today it is just unusable. A piece of crap. Outdated interface and systems. Everything is broken and just doesn't work. I can't make a single payment...
We have a service supplier that only takes paypal and I just can't pay him LOL.... I'm fiddling with this piece of crap service almost the entire day, going back and forth. Useless.
Just 100% garbage. Don't use it. Just doesn't work.
PayPal failure bordering on Fraudulent
I bought through Payal because I thought that kept me safe from Fraudulent Behaviour on behalf of the seller. I contested a false payment taken out of my credit card for a subscription I didn't want. I asked the company for a refund on the same day. They treated it as a negotiation so they could continue to steal from me. I complained to PAYPAL and they took the sellers side, despite me having ALL the evidence, which they clearly didn't bother to read. The case is clear, and the excuse they gave was that the seller had informed me that they would only guarantee a refund within a specified time period...I asked for the refund within an hour of the first purchase. Fraudulent and PAY PAL couldn't be bothered. Very disappointed
Lack of care for consumers
They allow sellers to rip off their customers as you dispute a claim when you never recieved the service. PayPal is so anti consumer and once I paid of my credit agreements I will be closing my account.
Terrible service, just give the sender their money back
Terrible service. I was sent money through paypal which I have not used for many years. My password does not work. Their ID verifaction through website does not recognise me. I rang call centre who suggested I create a new account with another email address and they would move money over, that does not sound right. In the end they said I had to get sender to call. She did, they told her I had to call. I did, this time I sent driving licence and selfie by email which they got. They sent link to reset password, that wanted me to do the ID verification again, this time phone said no. I asked for complaints department and was told that they dont take calls. Call ended. I tried to do log in again through website, it let me take selfie etc but again said it did not recongnise me. Have now lost the sale and have raised formal complaint but that is a 15 day resolution time. Rang one last time and got it refunded to sender. Thank you James for doing a great job, shame about your collegues.
Extremely bad customer service
Extremely bad customer service. Terrible at resolving failed bank transfers. Lots of unsolicited calls. Bad privacy practices and no transparency. Frustrating to close an account. With a lot of struggle I closed both my personal and business accounts. Don't sign up
Don't waste your time and money using Paypal!
One star is too much for this useless company. Bought a product in the uk, from a uk supplier and paid for with a uk credit card! Paypal charged my credit card in US$ which ended up costing me £30 in exchange rate difference. I have seen a number of reviews with similar experience. Filed a complaint with Paypal but not holding my breath, next stop Financial Ombudsman Service. I recommend deleting your account with Paypal and use one of the other many options available.
