Yet again the Bestsign app isn't…

Yet again the Bestsign app isn't working. Now I must wait for a letter to arrive to reset my account. Over and over again this Bank falls further and further down the drain. It's clearly not fit to hold a banking license. Who the hell thought their online presence is modern? It's a joke. Embarrassingly bad. Their staff look like frightened rabbits who avoid giving any straight answers. Even they know the bank is full of crap. Avoid this laughable institution at all costs. I would never recommend them to my worst enemy.

Worst bank in Germany

Worst bank in Germany, i dont recommend it. Two times they take 10 euros from me bcs they doesnt have my adress. After first time i call them even i does change of my adress in one of their office before i moved. After that i must pay for they sending post to wrong adress i call them and again confirm my adress. And after half year i got again to pay 10 euros for same thing and i live on same adress 1 year already. You are the worst bank i used in my life. Credits by this bank you can forget even small one cause they doesnt have resources i heard they close people accounts without reason if they doesnt have good sum on account. Cause they doesnt have resources and last year they almost bakroupt. Worstest bank ever i will look on a way to close it as soon as i can. Better go Targobank or Sparkasse my recommendation.

Long waiting time

Long waiting time. Unprofessional staff. This is the worst service, experience and worsr example of Deutsche Post. The people working there should be replaced with efficient staff.
Or this post should be closed!!!

Postbank employs roboters, not people, how else to explain the brainlessness!

It took Postbank 10 years to tell us that the full authority my father gave me over his Postbank account in front of a German Consul in Australia, with both of ours full identifications and signatures witnessed too, is not valid because my father's signature didn't match their decades-old sample.

My father is 92 and now has advanced dementia, with his symptoms already starting all these years ago affecting his signature. But the signature was witnessed by a German government official!

So that 'information' was provided to me in a letter as a reply to my postal correspondence from 2 years ago, to essentially tell me that the authority is not valid. In the meantime, I have unsuccessfully tried to get any sense out of them via emails.

As nothing was progressing and I had no trust whatsoever in sending again documents to the ever-changing addresses they gave me, 1 year ago I sent all the documents they requested to my cousin in Germany. He went to a branch and asked them to forward it to the appropriate persons. This has obviously not happened as I am not getting anywhere.

I sent the evidence of my father's changed address where he has been residing for years (e.g. official Australian correspondence, his bank statements from Australia etc) but they keep banging on that only he can change his address by presenting to a branch in Germany!!! Then if not, he should get this verified by some bank clerk or accountant in Australia. So confirmation by these people carries a greater weight than a representative of the German Government in Australia!!!! Although I also sent a document witnessed by an accountant...

But they continue to send statements AND a new credit card to that old address because of the "privacy and security". So we keep paying for postal forward service so that we can at least receive statements even if not being able to access the account.

I am beyond frustrated and angry. I am travelling to Germany soon, but just don't know where to turn and what to do.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service, just not existing. This is a tremendous downside for a bank because when you need support with your money, you need it fast and precise, and they have none of those characteristics. You wait ages at the telephone or in filiale and when someone finally serves you, they don’t address your issues and just answer that they can do nothing for you. I need a receipt of a bank transfer for 6 months and no way to get it out of the system. I am so disappointed that I will look for changing bank even if this is really a pain in the neck because nowadays everything is connected to the bank account. I would have avoided if only I could observe a little more of seriousness. Absolutely not recommended.

Postbank fails miserably again

I tried to transfer money online from my own savings account to my own current account in April 2023 and it wouldn't work because the Postbank was updating its online platform. I went to the branch in Nordhausen on 7 May. The member of staff was really rude but eventually arranged for some money to be transferred. It arrived in my current account at the end of June, almost two months later. I called using telephone banking at the end of August to see if they had sorted out the technical problems and, on the third call, a lady in the technical department was helpful, unlike the customer service staff, and told me my accounts would be linked up by the end of the year at the latest and then I would be able to transfer money between my accounts online. Up until then, I could transfer money using telephone banking, she told me.

I called again on 3 January 2024, and it took three hours and five calls to get someone to arrange a transfer via telephone banking since transferring money online was still not possible. One member of staff was clueless and said things like the branch number is either on the left or on the right (of my bank statement and, in fact, it was on a different document). Another one said he'd be with me shortly once I got through and then hung up before even attempting to help me. Another one hung up when I asked how it can not be possible to transfer money from one account to another online for eight months. And before that, when I asked to be transferred to the technical department again, he said there was no technical department. On the fourth call, the member of staff was helpful but said I needed to call the business department because my current account is a business account. When I called the business department, the member of staff said I needed the department for private accounts because my savings account is a private account. But then he did actually help me and set up a transfer. So that's why I'm giving one star and not zero stars. He couldn't tell me how long the transfer would take. If it takes as long as the last one, I will be closing my accounts and moving my money to a different bank. The Postbank needs to train its customer service staff properly and sort out all its technical problems soon before it loses many more customers.

Update: The money came through in less than 24 hours this time. With internal transfers for other banks, it comes through in a matter of minutes or even seconds but for the Postbank, that was fast.

82-Year-Old German Citizen Living in USA Struggling in Dealing with Postbank to Get Basic Banking Services

As a citizen of United States of America...
Over the past few years, as the Son and legal representative of my 82-year-old German mom with full Power of Attorney, we have been struggling in dealing with Postbank with getting debit cards, online banking, Power of Attorney, ATM cards, change of address, etc. As I am finding out Postbank has terrible customer service reviews especially for foreigners.

So, my mom who is 82 years old, a German citizen living in the US, and I her son and who has Power of Attorney (Vollmacht) for her Postbank accounts, are fed up with Postbank and would like to wire transfer the balance from both her Postbank accounts to her Bank of America account in the USA. As requested by Postbank customer service representative by telephone, we mailed by United Parcel Service (UPS) expedited delivery a written signed and notarized wire transfer request letter, Passport photos for my mom and I, copies of my two Postbank Vollmacht approval letters for both her accounts, and wire instructions from Bank of America, on 17 October 2023 to Postbank Bonn, 53245 Bonn and it was received by Postbank on 20 October. Since then, we have called customer service with the help of a German Translator friend one week after receipt of UPS delivery with no success. The customer service rep could not find any transaction in the system in my mom’s accounts for a wire transfer. As of today 24, November 2023 we have not received any acknowledgement or correspondence back from Postbank Bonn. My German translator friend recommended that I may have to travel to Germany and show up in person at a Postbank office to take care of this wire transfer.

Postbank has not explained the wire transfer process (i.e.: instructions, steps, details, forms, photo identification, Power of Attorney (Vollmacht), required and notarized signatures, whether I can do to this remotely from USA or needs to be in person at Postbank office, etc.) to wire funds my mom’s 2 Postbank accounts to her Bank of America account in the USA.

Still waiting for response back from Postbank after 1 month!

My overall experience with Postbank Customer Service has been poor. So, I give Postbank another 1-star review.

If I could I would choose zero

If I could I would choose zero. They lie to people and never never trust the things that counselors tell you. I opened a life insurance and the counselor told me you get annual interest and whenever I want my money back after 15 months, I would get whole of the money. But after 2 years when I canceled it, they took about 20% and about interest they told me there is no interest. They completely lied to me, and just told WE ARE SO SORRY FOR YOU. Never trust them at all

Worst Bank service in Europe.

Worst Bank service in Europe.

The advantage they used to have was that in Germany they do offer to open an account even before you have a residency, but I would suggest you to avoid them anyway.
I asked now almost a year ago to transfer what is in my account and done in person and flight back to Hamburg thus also spending money.
After few months they sent me a letter that they could not understand the new IBAN.
Now as I do not reside in Germany they should take care of the matter and contact me even via email that they do have.
As you can interact only in German is self explanatory that is not at all a Bank for expat or professionals.
Stay away

Germany`s worst bank

Germany`s worst bank

Nothing works. The ATM touch screen at TRIER branch did not respond to my finger tapping, no matter how often I tried. Then I went to the manager. He said I should try telephone service!
I called and had to wait 25 min. on hold. Then the person said he needs my ID no. I input the ID, but the guy was gone, so I had to wait another 20 min.
Their system discriminates (aged) people who are not good with digital technology. Its a nightmare even for business men like mie.
