Poor experience with failed collection by driver

Having used this company several times in the past, we have sadly had a very frustrating experience with a failed collection and inadequate understanding by their customer service, after a driver failed to ring any bells on our office door when he was supposed to collect items already hired.

Their customer service agent basically accused us of lying by insisting that the driver rang all bells, after we left there furniture in our office building's reception, having already told the driver we had to leave by 5.30pm when he was due to collect (he was already late after originally advising he'd be there before 5, although the collection time was admittedly any time up until 6pm).

Our neighbours told us nobody rang their bells and the furniture was left in the lobby. I called the driver at 6pm when I emerged from public transport to be told he left the building after knocking on the door with his hand as he didn't know what bell to ring.

The hire company insisted that the £27 redelivery charge would stand even though we offered to prove that the driver did not ring any doorbell via emails from our neighbours within the multi tenanted office building. We explained that it was a bit remiss of the driver not to even try any of the bells. They were not interested and insisted he DID ring the bells and we were lying. The furniture remained in the lobby all night uncollected.

A paltry £7 credit was offered and a £10 voucher off future hires which will obviously go unused as we will not be using this company again. Calling your customer a liar is to me not the best way to encourage more custom.

REPLY TO COMMENT: well you are calling me a liar because you continue to insist your driver tried to ring our bells when (a) I've already told you he confessed to me that very evening he didn't try any and (b) I've offered you to talk to neighbours for verification.

You also continue to insist that this is not your responsibility which is short sighted and narrow minded. If this is how you treat previously loyal customers you won't retain any.

Any sensible service provider would at least offer to split responsibility and offer a 50% refund of this redelivery charge. This would be the equitable thing to do. However, in addition to indirect accusations of lying, you are also content to insult your customer by offering a £7 refund. What a joke.

Thank you for your feedback.

Although you were not the customer in this incident, I am sorry to hear that you felt unhappy with us. Yahire always aims to serve its key stakeholders; both direct customers and host venues such as yourselves to the highest standards.

We successfully deliver to hundreds of customers every week.

We believe in this instance we did the right thing; our trusted driver arrived on time at the venue which was closed, called the contact numbers and the customer agreed to arrange and pay for a recollection.

We have not and would not call you a liar. We are sorry the situation and our suggestions of a way forward were not acceptable for you.

We hope you and your customers will be able to enjoy a successful experience from us in the future.

Best Wishes

Really helpful at my wedding reception

I was running late on the eve of my wedding trying to get the reception sorted out. When the guys from yahire arrived they really helped out by setting up the chairs and putting the linen on the tables for me whilst i set up the cutlery and crockery. This saved me from being at the venue til the early hours of the morning. I am really greatful and will be recommending Yahire to all of my friends.

Big thank you to the delivery drivers

SWEET 16

I WAS LET DOWN BY ANOTHER HIRE COMPANY (WHO SHALL BE NAMELESS!) WHEN WE HAD A BIG PARTY FOR MY DAUGHTER'S 16TH BIRTHDAY. I CALLED YAHIRE IN A PANIC AND THEY SAVED THE DAY. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THIS COMPANY AND WOULD CERTAINLY USE THEM AGAIN IN FUTURE.

Couldn't ask for a better service. Most impressed.

We got our tables and chairs from this company at our 25th wedding anniversary. We found them to be the cheapest hire company we could find and they delivered the goods on a Saturday evening which was not something we could get elsewhere. Overall we are very impressesed with the service and would recommended this company.

Thanks.
