Ordered a car from Manchester to be…
Ordered a car from Manchester to be delivered for collection in Newport. Spoke to an agent and all seemed fine. Went to collect today. Car one years old but obviously had a hard life, cigarette burns on interior roof and smelt of fag smoke. They offered to put an air cleaner in that would take 6 hours! Refused and insisted they gave my delivery charge back as I would never have bought car if issues were disclosed. Knock them out quick attitude with no customer care or for products they are selling- really is like a supermarket but a Lidl not a Waitrose!
Will never use again.

I really would not bother. People are being ripped off. My car was valued at £420 by webuyanycar and that was a joke. These offered me £120!
I wonder how many people get ripped off.

won't be buying from this company again.
After purchasing a car from Motorpoint, we later discovered it had been fitted with a track-only exhaust, which is not intended for use on UK roads. The exhaust is clearly stamped "Track Only", so it's difficult to understand how this was missed if the vehicle had been properly inspected before sale.
Motorpoint maintained that they had carried out all the necessary checks, but despite numerous emails and phone calls, we got nowhere. The customer service has been extremely disappointing, and I feel they were more interested in making a quick sale than ensuring the vehicle was accurately described and roadworthy.
The matter has now been referred to Trading Standards. In the meantime, I'm left with the expense and inconvenience of having to replace the exhaust so the car can be returned to legal road use.

Motorpoint Newport
Motorpoint Newport, south wales were fantastic. Bought a car off them 18 months ago and decided I was going to start browsing at electric.
They found me an Audi Q4 E tron across the other side of the country. Offered me a test drive of a different colour one they had in stock which I declined as the wife has had a couple of electric cars before so just sat in it to make sure it was suitable.
Finance sorted in 5 mins flat and car delivered to Newport in around 5 days including the weekend.
Big thanks to Owain Caple-Davies and Michael Gittins in the branch for all there help. Will drop some beers in for you soon

Really disappointed
Be wary when buying a car from Motorpoint. I bought a 2 year old Skoda Karoq. The purchase experience itself was fine, although I encountered a few gentle pressure tactics from the person I dealt with, such as, 'If you don't come back today I can't be sure the car will still be here tomorrow,' and when I did return, and was deciding what to do, 'We need to do this quick, as my team that processes the car will need to go home soon'. Ultimately, I bought the car, which was my decision, and I was slightly naive, as I hadn't previously bought a car in over 20 years (to which he reassured me, 'You have absolutely nothing to worry about, we're a massive reputable company that isn't going anywhere and can't afford to o anything wrong). Lesson learned.
The car itself runs fine (to date), but I was disappointed to learn it had undergone extensive touch-ups and paint corrections to mask damage. At 5pm in the pouring rain, and due to how the cars are prepared, the issues were difficult to spot; however, after a few days, they became quite noticeable. I took the car to a detailer who was pretty shocked - the whole bonnet and front wing had been repainted, and some of the damage is now visible again. (He was also appalled at how dirty the engine bay was, but that's a different story). I now have to pay a decent amount of money to get the car repaired and brought to the standard I would have assumed Motorpoint would sell the car in.
I initially didn't plan to leave a review, but after emailing to let them know my frustrations and receiving a delayed and polite response that essentially said, 'It's your fault; there's nothing we can do about it,' it left a poor taste in my mouth. I 100% accept I could have inspected the car better. But what Motorpoint could do is ensure they tell customers about any pre-existing or previous damage on the cars they sell. That doesn't seem like an inappropriate ask.
I won't buy from Motorpoint again, and I write this review in the hope that others will think twice. And if you do decide to use them, inspect the car better than I did, and ask specific questions about any corrective work that has been done

AVOID THIS COMPANY
AVOID THIS COMPANY - PETERBOROUGH BRANCH.
False MOT claims, scare tactics, and ruined paint.
I purchased a £15k car from this branch on the condition that I would be satisfied with the MOT. They did it that day and informed me it passed with zero advisories.
The Brake / MOT Deception:
A week later, my brakes began squeaking. The branch dismissed it as "forecourt rust that needs time to wear off." Less than 2,000 miles later, an official Audi health check revealed that both front and rear pads and discs were heavily worn and near their legal limits (back at 75% worn, and front at 85% worn). The manager, James Astill, confirmed that brakes under 3mm should show as an advisory. Mine were well below that. When the warning lights came on, I told Bethany Ryman I wanted to reject the car. She used manipulative scare tactics, claiming I would lose a massive amount of money via "market value deductions" and a mileage penalty, or forced me into an exchange. Why would I exchange for another car from a dealer I couldn't trust?
They hit me with a brick wall, stating they "would not change their stance." They were so stubborn that they refused to pay the replacement cost for months—even when escalated to the CEO. They legally forced me into the ADR scheme. Unbelievably, the dealership preferred to pay a £250+ ADR scheme fee just to be forced to pay me £292.91 for the 85% worn front axle components rather than resolve it amiably. Worse yet, they greedily refused to pay for the rear axle components, which were documented at 75% worn. This means all four wheels were heavily degraded at the point of sale. Both 75% and 85% wear rates directly violate their manager's own 3mm safety advisory threshold, meaning they intentionally hid defects across the entire vehicle just to protect their profit margins.
The Paintwork & Prep Disaster:
After taking my cash, they promised a full machine paint restoration ("mop"). I had to bring the car back twice. On the second appointment, I explicitly warned them I needed the car back by 3:00 PM. They assured me it would be fine. I sat in their office for hours, only to walk outside just before the agreed time to find my car still sitting outside untouched. When Bethany Ryman finally brought it out, I told her directly I was not happy; you could clearly see deep smudge marks and swirls. She casually told me to "bring it back again." Having completely lost trust, I took it elsewhere to see if it could be fixed by hand. It looked great at first, but after a couple of months, the fillers washed away and the deep rotary buffer marks showed through again. They permanently damaged my paintwork (costing £1500 to correct) and are now hiding behind the closed ADR scheme (which only looked at the front brakes) to escape accountability.
Other Mechanical Failures:
Within the first 3 months, I also had to claim on the warranty for a broken washer fluid bottle and replace defective windshield wipers right after purchase. An authorized Audi main dealer explicitly documented them as "smearing and worn." The smearing wipers alone should have failed the initial MOT, while the broken fluid bottle proves how poorly the car was prepared.
They have dragged this out for over a year and one month now without resolving the issues. They are unethical operators who use false compliance claims and do not care about customer safety. Once they have your hard-earned cash, customer service completely vanishes. Do not make the same mistake I did. Think wisely before buying from them

Give motorpoint a shot.
I was never keen to try a car supermarket but my father wanted to buy a car from motor point two years ago. I was so impressed with the whole experience and the deal that he had that I knew I would do the same when my turn came. in fact we have told several friends about how good the deals and experience was. A few of those friends took a look and purchased cars themselves.
